We had an amazing experience with this venue! They were incredibly flexible, offered great service, and created the cutest atmosphere. Truly everything I had hoped for in a “build-your-own” wedding experience. The woman-led team made the entire process smooth and personal, and our day felt exactly like us. I would highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a customizable and beautiful place to celebrate! And the cost was reasonable which helped bring us confidence that our money goes directly to what is important to us! Definitely consider them in your wedding venue selection!

From our initial venue tour until the wedding, the Spot on West Fifth was a great venue option for us. The space is very versatile and open to your creativity when it comes to set up. Sam and the rest of the staff are all responsive and flexible to whatever you may need. We ended up having a complicated day of set up, and they were there to help with room decor and a room flip. We all had a great time and I highly recommend them!

My wife and I got married in September of 2021 and looked at many venues around Downtown Cincinnati, and The Spot was by far the most beautiful and cost effective for the wedding we chose. They were flexible with which vendors we could hire and bring in which made planning the event easier and more personalized. We loved being able to customize the venue with our own decor as well as bring in our own licensed bar tenders and caterers. The place is beautiful and can be set up in a variety of different ways making every event there unique. The exposed brick and the industrial look was exactly what we were looking for. Additionally, it's conveniently located within walking distance to many great hotels, restaurants, bars, the Banks, OTR, and more. The venue was extremely spacious for our 100 guests and felt there was plenty of room for more. Our setup required a flip for the reception which was done in record time with their teams help. The bridal suite made for a wonderful place for the wedding party to leave their personal items. Being able to put down a deposit and not needing to pay the rest until the day of the event allowed us to save money for our big day, while knowing we had secured our perfect spot and could begin planning the rest with caterers, making invites, and everything else involved. Sam and Christy were super accommodating from start to finish with all of our requests, day and night. They allowed my wife to schedule a mock set up with our wedding planner while she was in town (we live in NYC), which made the day of the event flow much better. Sam even went out of her way the next day to help us load up items which they kept safely secured overnight so we could enjoy the rest of our evening as newlyweds with friends and family. We received numerous compliments on our venue choice and our guests were wowed at how everything came together at the Spot on West Fifth. We will definitely consider using this venue in the future for family events in Cincinnati! We are so thankful to Sam, Christy, and the Team at the Spot on West Fifth as they made our day truly magical! My wife and I were married at The Spot in August of 2021, and I can not say enough about what an exceptional venue it is. Sam and Christy went above and beyond for us, making sure that we went into our day with no concerns and could really enjoy ourselves. The venue is beautiful and really suited us as a couple and our guests- the larger capacity was ideal for us, the bridal suite was great for getting ready and having a quiet space to tuck away, and the bartenders we hired through The Spot were very kind and professional. Christy and Sam were super flexible which allowed us to use our preferred vendors, which is a rare thing in Cincy. We also were able to do everything in one place- the wedding ceremony, the cocktail hour and drag show, and the reception. I honestly can't stress how lucky we were to have found The Spot, and what a dream they helped us create for our big day. Do yourselves a favor and book this venue!

I am a little late leaving this review, but WOW is all I really need to say. I got married here this past September and it was nothing short of amazing. Christy and her team went above and beyond throughout the whole process. Planning a wedding during COVID adds an extra layer of stress, but I truly never felt any stress or worries when working with my vendors. Christy and Sam made sure that we had everything we wanted and more! When I say above and beyond... I mean it. Christy even took our Skyline Dip back to her house and heated it up for us before we returned for the rehearsal dinner. Not only are Christy and her team great, but the space is absolutely stunning. Some of my favorite highlights are the gorgeous exposed brick, the flexible floor-plans, the ability to stock your own bar, the location, and truly being able to plan your event the way that you want it. We really didn't want your traditional wedding and The Spot made all of our crazy ideas happen. Yes, even our donut toss instead of a cake cutting. The business model at The Spot allowed us to save a lot of money. We stocked the bar ourselves and were able to bring in the vendors that we wanted. No extra hidden fees or costs. They really give you the bones of the event and then allow you to create the event of your dreams. Everything was truly top-notch, including the set-up and clean-up. We were able to get into the space on Friday and set up/drop off everything that we needed. We then set up a time on Sunday to come pick up the remaining decorations and leftover items. When we arrived on Sunday everything was boxed up and ready to be loaded off into our cars. A process we thought was going to take an hour or so was done in about 30 minutes. I must say, The Spot allowed us to throw one heck of a party that we will never forget. Our guests have shared nothing but great things and I would highly recommend having your wedding or any event here. I could rave on about The Spot for days, but I think I've covered the basics. The team at The Spot on West Fifth was so amazing! We were originally scheduled to get married in June but had to move our wedding to early September 2020.

Coordination: Leading up to the event, with all the date changes, and presumably as is typical with any wedding, there were a ton of details to keep track of. The Spot helped us be mindful of things to remember, they would send us reminders or make observations for things to consider that we hadn't thought of, and for us. Sam and Christy set up a meeting the week before the wedding with all of our vendors to get on the same page about timelines and day of, how things will work.

Space: The venue is beautiful. It has a very modern look but also industrial with the brick walls that was immediately impressive to us. I believe The Spot was the second place we looked at for venues and we knew right away that it would be where we would want to get married. The space is large enough and malleable enough that it can accommodate so many different floorplans. For us, we prioritized separation between different households above all else and the space really worked well for this. We did not go with traditional rows for our ceremony, but instead had everyone seated at the round tables they would eat dinner at. We ended up being able to have enough space to limit people to between 4-6 at tables, with plenty of room left over for our gift tables, caterers, the bar, dance floor, and our caricature artist. If there was one thing that could be improved with our experience, it was that the speakers and projector that are in the space could be operated by more than just the one DJ company The Spot has a partnership with. We wanted to go with a different DJ but in order to have a slideshow, we still needed to hire the other company to be able to use the projector.

Location: The Spot is right in downtown Cincy across from the Convention Center. It's one block from the Hyatt and two from the Hilton. There are so many other hotels nearby in easy walking distance as well. You can walk to parks, museums, and restaurants all over downtown. For us, hotel location was key. For our guests, they loved how close they were to so many sites in downtown, and this would not have been possible if were not for The Spot's prime location.

Staff: It's already been mentioned throughout this review, but Christy and Sam could sell the place on their own. Their advice, patience, and how accommodating they were to our requests over the year we worked with them was so appreciated. The day of the wedding, Sam was EVERYWHERE and filled in wherever anything was needed. I know several of the things that she took the time to help out with, only because I asked. I only vaguely know from my groomsmen that she was all over the place solving small problems before they'd become bigger. I love that she did all of that without asking and I'm amazed that she could do it all without me finding out about most of it that night.

Verdict: The Spot is a great venue, but the team that runs it made our experience. Don't hesitate to book with them. Your wedding day will be amazing, but perhaps more importantly, the amount of stress you'll feel leading up to and during it will be so greatly reduced. We loved our experience and would highly recommend this venue and this team.
