Love this venue!

What isnt to love about this venue??? The staff were absolutely amazing and super accommodating all throughout the entire planning process. They let us start setting up several days early because there weren't any events planned prior to our wedding day which was super helpful and received stress. Melissa was an excellent host and manager!
One thing I will say is to make sure to read the contract carefully as I thought we had the venue until 10 pm, but the day before when i janded them my day of timeline was informed we and all vendors had to be gone BY 10.. when I read the contract again, it did indeed say that
If I have any more big events I would love to book it here!

The pumpkin wedding

Me and my wife have decided to use this venue for our vow renewal ceremony. We have had it scheduled for over a year and throughout the whole process, staff has coordinated with us to make to process feel seamless.

As with any event there were hiccups in the road, but Ms. Melissa and Mr. Dennis have solved every issue that came up. They made us feel like we were part of their family. Not once did we feel rushed or unwelcomed.

All of the staff at this venue has worked tirelessly and selflessly all week leading up to the event, doing whatever is necessary to make our vision come true. They have cared for our live decorations, coordinated no-show vendors, worked with our ever so changing timeline with patience and dedication to our special day.

We are so fortunate to have Ms. Melissa and Mr. Dennis as our hosts. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.

Valentine and Jodi.

Wonderful Venue

I was a planner for a wedding held at The Barn in April. Wonderful Staff, the most beautiful venue and the ceremony sites are outstanding.
Every one was so easy to work with and a pleasure during the event.
I highly recommend this upscale venue to any bride looking for the rustic, yet classy venue.

10 stars. great time.

Dudes normally don’t give reviews but I wanted to. This place was awesome. It has the girly side but also masculine as well.
They have a suite for the girls and then one for the guys. Other weddings I’ve been in or at the guys have yo be ready or get ready in a hotel close by. The grooms area is right next to the bar. The wedding party had open bar and the guest had cost bar. Apparently they have a ton of bar package options to choose from. Their selection was good because our part requested our favorites prior.
Ceremony was awesome. They say you can choose to have it anywhere you se grass. The place use to be a golf course so there are lots of options.
Cocktail hour was on the patio. They had games and fire pits. Couldn’t use the fire pits but thats only because they weren’t in the package/discussed. No biggie. Still awesome.
Reception was awesome. Bar staff were friendly. The management kept walking around checking on areas, making sure everything was okay. Whenever there was a question, they answered it. The whole staff were supper professional, provided everything we paid for and had great hospitality. They honestly did more than they needed.

Wedding Venue Regret

The only regret we have is choosing The Rustic Barn as the venue. It is a beautiful venue, but the management and staff were unprofessional, very difficult to work with and refuse to engage in clear communication. Management changed after we signed our contract and the new manager was speaking very poorly of the previous manager. This is highly unprofessional and was the first red flag. New management discontinued communication via Honeybook and would only respond with vague emails and request to speak over the phone to answer questions versus having the responses in writing. Our contract was sent to us via Honeybook by the previous management and we had that documentation to dispute any contract changes they attempted to make. The venue manager called the bride, 48 days before event and said our caterer was not approved. We had met and booked this caterer at The Rustic Barn Wedding Expo on June 5, 2022 and provided the venue manager the contract at that time. The caterer called the owner of the venue and clarified that his company was approved for our event. Our caterer was AMAZING and we are so thankful for them. This company was featured at the venue’s wedding expo, so I warn any bride who attends these events in the future to be wary that the venue may not stand behind the vendors they present. The venue manager stated that we would be charged the per person bar fee for every guest. We had to clarify that should only be charged for guest over 21. The manager then said that guest over 21 would have to wear a wrist band. We understand need to ID guest, but it was a HARD no to ID and wrist bands at the door. When asked about pricing to extend the bar package over 4 hours, the venue manager threw out a number that did not equal what the breakdown of the current pricing would be. It was just a made-up number, so we declined and stated if we needed more time, we would provide a card and pay per drink. Cocktail hour on the patio was to begin when the ceremony ended. The ceremony ended at 4:15 and the staff stood there and refused to serve our guest until 4:30. Our caterer was serving passed apps, everyone was excited exiting the ceremony and the paid for bar was unavailable. The venue manager stated that they were following the timeline, but most people in the event business know that a timeline is a guideline and if something on the timeline ends early, you move onto the next thing, not make all guest wait. The interesting thing about the idea that they were adhering to a strict timeline was that the staff completely shut down the outdoor bar for cocktail hour while the doors were still locked to the reception area. Our prepaid 4 hours was not actually 4 hours when the delay and the closing of the bar at cocktail hour were taken into account. There should have been continued bar service outside until guest go to the reception. They did not have the stock of drinks promised and on our posted bar menu. They continually carded people, making guest return to their tables to get their ID’s even after they had been served them several times throughout the evening. Trained bar staff would not continue to card the same people at a private 4 hour event over and over again. There was also a tip jar on the bar which is very tacky for an open bar at a private event like this considering the large mandatory gratuity had been prepaid. The venue was reserved through 10:00 PM. My daughter and her husband were having their last dance while everyone lined up outside for the grand exit at 9:15. The staff and venue manager began turning on all the lights, stripping the tables and sweeping DURING this time. This has been noted in other reviews on Google and was unfortunately captured in the photos of that moment. The venue management made everything so difficult, but we were so blessed to have amazing vendors who helped us navigate this. The wedding was beautiful thanks to all of them and all of our friends who came to celebrate their love. I do NOT recommend this venue to any bride, groom or family for their wedding day. I do recommend potential clients read through the multiple recent reviews and look for recurring issues in order to make an informed decision.

Terrible!

The Rustic Barn is stunning in appearance, but everything else about my experience with this venue was an absolute disaster. If I could go back, I would avoid this place like the plague.

I booked this venue in September 2023 with the prior coordinator, Rosemarie, and was promised a fully stocked décor closet as part of the décor package. However, just a month before my wedding, I found out via a Facebook post that Rosemarie was let go. This was the first of many blows. Melissa, the new "coordinator" (who made it clear she didn’t want the job), took over. She was unprofessional, rude, and clearly overwhelmed.

When I met with her, she showed me the décor closet, which was practically empty. I was left scrambling, having to spend hundreds of dollars on new flowers and decorations, after I had already paid $800+ for the décor package that was supposed to cover everything. This is beyond unacceptable. Melissa’s attitude was dismissive, and she even joked about how "not décor savvy" she was—exactly why I hired a décor package in the first place!

The issues didn’t stop there. The bar situation was a complete mess. We paid in full for the bar package (which was for 100 guests), but a few hours into the wedding, Melissa said we needed a card on file to pay an additional $1,900 for liquor that was supposedly consumed. This was after we had already paid $3,900 for the bar. No one could explain how this charge was calculated, and when I demanded an itemized receipt, the staff couldn't even provide one. Instead, they called the sheriff on us! On my wedding night! The sheriff basically gave us an ultimatum—pay the bill or face criminal charges. This is not only embarrassing but completely unprofessional.

It gets worse. After the wedding, I was contacted by the coordinator who had the nerve to ask me if I forgot to pay her. I reminded her that I had won a $1,000 gift card for her services at the wedding expo, and the venue was supposed to cover it. The Rustic Barn refused to pay, and my husband was forced to go to the venue at 8 a.m. to resolve it. What followed was an aggressive, hostile encounter with the owner, Don JR Jones, who verbally attacked my husband and accused us of lying about payments. It was a complete disgrace.

To top off the nightmare, several guests complained about the unprofessional bar staff in sloppy T-shirts, pouring shots when they weren’t supposed to, and not knowing how to make basic drinks. The staff had such a terrible attitude, and the lights were turned on 45 minutes before the event was supposed to end, signaling that the party was over. It was a disaster from start to finish.

I wouldn’t recommend this venue to anyone, no matter how beautiful the barn may be. The lack of professionalism, unorganized staff, and blatant disrespect for their clients made my wedding day feel like a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
