Ghosted by our vendor
I found The Photobooth Fellas on a few different wedding websites and they had decent reviews. I wanted to share my experience to prevent other couples from dealing with the same stress we had with this company.
When I booked with them in June for our October wedding, all that was required was a $100 deposit. (The fact that it took several emails to even receive an invoice should have been my first red flag!) We went with the "Gold Package" for the album and usb drive to have access to all of the pictures taken that night. I also loved the idea of a photo dropbox folder, available for 60 days for our guests to insert additional images.
In late September (3 weeks before our wedding) our venue cancelled on us due to flooding from a recent Hurricane. We were able to secure another venue, but needed to also reach out to our vendors to make location changes in our contract. Again, we had some difficulty getting in touch with this company. When we finally heard back from them, I also asked about where to send their payment to because there seemed to have been an error with their Wildwood, NJ address....they weren't even responding to emails when I was trying to pay them!
When the owner (Joey) finally called me 8 days before the wedding, I explained that I have not been getting responses from the email they provided and I needed to receive templates for our background, as well as seeing if they needed anything else from me. Joey said he would get the templates/paperwork to me the next day....nothing came until the night before our wedding. It wasn't until the day of that he began emailing me, asking for the template and to fill out much needed paperwork (like getting our correct names on the background) and I'm dealing with this vendor as I'm getting my hair and makeup done.
Later on that day, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they arrived and am happy to say that our guests had a wonderful time using the photo booth...I figured the issue was behind us and it was worth the little extra stress!
We received the photo album that night (that came with the gold package) but noticed that there weren't a lot of pictures placed into the actual album. We also never received any information about the dropbox folder and after asking a few guests, this was something they also didn't mention to them. When I reached out to them two weeks after the wedding I asked if they could mail us the usb drive so we could at least have a digital copy of the photos. They responded right away asking for our address....and that was the last I heard from them.
I gave it some time to see if the usb was just delayed on arriving due to the postal service, but after a few weeks, I emailed again with no response. After a few more emails, my husband began calling Joey's personal cell phone (the number he gave us) and the one time that Joey did answer he responded that he would get right on it and call back within two hours...that was now two weeks ago.
I was holding off on writing this review for the fear that there would be some retaliation, but at this point I've had to accept that this company definitely doesn't have our images on a usb drive. Now I just want to spread the word to hopefully prevent another couple from dealing with this headache. This company was unprofessional from the beginning. I appreciate that they showed up on the big day, but their communication was lacking and beyond using the excuse that "they saved the wrong number in their phone and couldn't get back to me" they also could not keep my name straight. The tipping point was the fact that we spent extra money for upgraded service and when they couldn't provided those services, they "ghosted" us rather than owning up to it, or at least reimbursing us for the upgraded costs. Please do yourself a favor and find another company to use!
