The Parish House on Union Review

I am so grateful that I was able to find a venue as easy to work with, thorough, and supportive of my vision as the Parish House on Union was. Patty and her team truly made my dream wedding come to fruition. From the initial call to the Parish House to cleaning up after my wedding, things went so smoothly. There are 2 main reasons why I love the Parish House. Firstly, it is so all-inclusive; the services the Parish House offers makes things so organized and easy. Having in-house catering relieves so much stress and coordination, and the food was so so good! The butternut ravioli was a huge hit. Lee was an excellent DJ, working with my playlists and timing everything perfectly. He also worked very hard to help make the dining stationary exactly how I wanted (down to matching fonts and styles) and to print out my signs. I had guests even tell me that they took home their name cards because they were so cute! Sarah helped so much with day-of coordinating, keeping us all on track. It was really helpful to have people dedicated to making my decor look great and to take it down. The flowers were beautiful and fresh. Patty helped orchestrate my rehearsal, telling us what to do, which helped so much. Providing lunch day-of took one less task off of our shoulders. I even used the bridal salon at the Parish House to order my wedding dress, which was absolutely gorgeous. Patty and Sarah helped me find a dress that truly fit *me* and one that I was proud of wearing on my wedding day. For the few things that were not provided by the Parish House, Patty gave great recommendations that were high quality and cost-effective. The second thing that I appreciated about the Parish House was how hard Patty worked with me to make my celestial wedding theme come to life. She met with me multiple times to try out different decor elements. Patty is an extremely talented designer who has a keen eye for what can make a wedding look classy. I was worried that my celestial theme might look like Halloween decorations, but her ideas for design made my decor look very refined and elegant. Patty was mindful to making every detail fit my vision. She was a wedding designer, coordinator, venue owner, and overall supporter all wrapped into one, and I could not have asked for more. There are so many other details, but I cannot fit them all in this review. I truly don't know how I could have pulled off my wedding without Patty and her wonderful team. All of this might sound too good to be true, but it isn't! I will be recommending the Parish House on Union to everyone I know getting married!

The Venue for a fairy tale wedding!

wasn’t able to be with her. The pictures online are gorgeous. Then when you step inside this Venue everything was breathtaking. From the outside to the inside it is absolutely beautiful! I love the decor of the ceremony/reception hall the lighting strung across the ceiling is a great touch. The dinner area is beautifully set up. The area where the girls get ready was such a great place for them to spend the afternoon getting ready. Even the guys area I heard was a hit for them to do what guys do. Patty is so wonderful and sweet. She made planning a breeze. She was very helpful and comforting to the stressed out bride to be. Choosing a place that is already beautifully decorated and having in house catering helped in making the day less stressful. The caters where very professional and the food was delicious. They served chicken Alfredo, it was the best I’ve ever had and now I will crave it for the rest of my life. They had a vegetarian option which I was told was also very good. I would definitely recommend The Parish House on Union to anyone looking to get married in the Delphi/Lafayette area.

Perfection

Patty was phenomenal!!! The venue is stunning, everything went absolutely perfectly! The food was absolutely to die for - even our pastor who has done many weddings was sending pictures and raving about it to his friends and family. Everyone loved how beautiful and romantic it was. Pricing was absolutely on point (I would’ve paid more, honestly - they were that good!!). Patty thought of EVERYTHING! She is incredible and was such a blessing. I cried because it was just so perfect. It far exceeded my expectations!! Patty was warm and accommodating from the get go and didn’t mind that I was constantly pestering her and her husband with questions. I seriously cannot rave enough about this place or Patty!!!!

Beyond my expectations!

Patty has been nothing but amazing with helping me plan my wedding at The Parrish House.
Whenever I start to feel a little anxious about something I go to her and she makes me feel so much better and relaxed.
She has such a beautiful heart and is so upbeat and friendly anytime I contact her.
She, truly, wants your big day to go without any hitches.
The venue itself is beautiful and an all inclusive place which is so nice!!
Highly recommend the Parrish House!!

Loved this venue

Choosing this venue made the wedding planning very easy for us. They have the ability to do ceremony, dinner, and reception all in one spot! Decor options and many things included in the price of the venue, so for me it helped keep my to do list smaller than what it seemed other venues would have been. We had a day of coordinator on site that was absolutely wonderful. Great food and everyone raved about how beautiful everything was. So glad we chose this venue!

The Parish House is the most beautiful place for your wedding, hands down!

The Parish House delivers a gorgeous venue where all of your decor, signs, chairs, tables, and anything you'd ordinarily have to rent is just included in the package. When you first walk in, everything is set up for a magical effect, with lights across the ceiling and the soft warm lighting from the stained glass windows making the whole room kind of glow. Patty is routinely available by email or call, but sometimes takes a while to get back to you. Since we had a 15 month engagement, and booked her in month 2, this wasn't so big of an issue. Once it got down to a couple days away, I started to freak out a bit. However, things went so beautifully the day of that I didn't even care. The getting ready rooms were GORGEOUS and we had our own day of coordinator to make sure I was well taken care of. It was a gorgeous, stunning, perfect day, and the Parish House made so much of that happen.

Displeased

I was really upset with the venue to say the least. My wedding was on the 10th of October. There were a lot of things that made me mad. For one, we had a staff member be rude to several people. From my videographer, a GUEST, my MOH, photographer and myself included (the bride). I talked to Patty personally before I would write my review. She tried to justify the issue saying they had a wedding the day prior. That doesn't mean your staff should treat the next wedding poorly just because you had weddings back to back. We were the last wedding you could book on a Sunday. I was promised an apology, but neither my MOH or I have received one. It's now November 3rd. Patty herself was rather controlling over everything and rude to my bridesmaids and family members who showed up early and were just helping set up the items we had brought for the wedding. I was promised real garland for the tables and they weren't. Fake flowers were added to my real flowers we had brought for the tables. We had left for 20 minutes to get sunset photos and our cake and guests were all moved to the ceremony area without permission. We only complied because well, Patty had already moved everyone out of the dining room. If she had looked at the timeline, yes, we were behind schedule, but we simply switched sunset photos and cake cutting.

Frustrating Experience

Long review but worth the read if you are considering this venue.

We got married at the Parish House on April 5th, 2025, and while the venue itself is beautiful, the overall experience was unbelievably frustrating. We signed the contract in February 2024, but communication was limited until October 2024. After reaching out, we had a good meeting with Lee and got some things sorted, like the food tasting. The food tasting went well, and they even allowed us to submit our own pork recipe that would be used as a dinner option. There were delays in getting the seating chart and flower arrangements finalized. By delayed, I mean that we did not talk about flowers until about 2 weeks before the wedding and did not receive a seating chart until the week of my wedding after asking multiple times. When I finally got a flower quote two weeks before the wedding, it was completely off from what my wife and I wanted. Despite multiple requests, the flowers she didn’t want were ordered, and we ended up handling the flowers ourselves the day before the wedding. Patty was not happy about this and was difficult to communicate with about options. It came down to us doing the flowers or not having flowers, and Patty wanted things her way, not our way.

At the rehearsal, everything seemed rushed, and everything we communicated that day was not executed as promised on the wedding day. On the wedding day, the venue doors were locked when my wifes bridal party arrived, and the flower arch we asked to be removed was still up. The ceremony didn’t go as planned either. The music for the recessional didn’t start when it was supposed to, and it felt awkward kissing then walking down most of the aisle in silence. Patty also threw a fit when it came to accommodations for my mom, insisting on putting her accessible chair on the wrong side of the aisle than what we had requested. Then, an hour before dinner, Patty told my wife the pork recipe had been changed, despite saying earlier at the food tasting and in a messge a week before the wedding they’d follow our exact recipe. She also got upset and yelled at a guest in front of others when they brought in alcohol as a wedding gift, yelling at them that they could lose their liquor license as if my guest would've known that. Patty spoke badly about my wife to her MOH a couple different times both at the rehearsal and during the wedding day saying that she was hard to please when all we asked for was the bare minimum. Such as expecting the correct flowers to be quoted and the arch to be taken down as communicated before the wedding day. While Lee was great and tried to help he was very hard to find, Patty’s behavior made the whole experience a lot more stressful than it needed to be. If we had worked with the original planner or Keira (the day of planner), things would’ve been much smoother. The venue itself is gorgeous, but the lack of communication and unprofessional attitude from Patty make it hard to recommend. I hope that for future couples they spend the money to hire help on their team so that those people feel like a priority for planning and on the biggest day of their lives because we surely did not. If you choose this venue, just be prepared to stay on top of everything and hold them accountable. Expect things to not go the way YOU wanted.
