History
The Palace of the Fine Arts was originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition as part of a world’s fair to honor the completion of the Panama Canal. The Palace is the work of California architect Bernard Maybeck and is inspired by a Piranesi engraving that features a Roman ruin reflected in a pool. This location is part of the National Register of Historic Places and has since been renovated to accommodate modern trade shows, corporate events and other special events, and has become one of the most photographed sites in San Francisco.

The Palace of Fine Arts is conveniently located just moments away from the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, the Walt Disney Family Museum, Lombard Street, Yacht Harbor and Crissy Field Beach. This location is accessed via Richardson Avenue and Marina Boulevard streets.
