The Old Gray Barn is a family-owned property in Frankfort, Indiana that is a great match for any couple’s rustic, down-to-earth wedding theme. First occupied by the Mitchell family in 1984, this barn venue is now open to couples and groups of up to 250 people. All your friends and family can be surrounded by the lush greenery with seasonal blooms, including sunflower fields and meadows in the nearby woods.
Facilities and Capacity:
The Old Gray Barn is part of a 6,500-square-foot venue resting on 40 acres of land. The barn venue has both air conditioning and radiant heat so that it can accommodate all the seasons. Inside has multiple bathrooms, a designated bar area, and a handcrafted head table. On the back of the barn is a walk-out deck with 1,200 square feet of space ready to be used. For couples that prefer an outdoor ceremony, the Mitchells offer The Chapel, secluded clearing in the woods custom built with red cedar. For the smaller guest list, the lawn behind the barn can give the happy couple a backdrop of sunflower fields as they say their vows. The site is 60 miles north of Indianapolis and 20 miles east of Lafayette, making it a quiet pocket of peace away from the city.
The team at The Old Gray Barn has tables, chairs, and linens of various colors available upon request. Some items of decor they offer include whiskey barrels, chiffon beam coverings, twinkle lights, and a chandelier from the barn ceiling. Private suites are available for couples and their respective families so that everyone can look their best. Large refrigerators and freezers are available for caterers to keep their dishes fresh and safe. Handicap accessibility and assistance with set-up and tear-down will ensure that your stress levels are as low as possible. While you are open to use anyone you prefer, they have a list of preferred vendors that they trust to make your day a memorable one.
