Just a 15-minute drive from downtown Kansas City, The Mission Theatre sets the scene for a playful contrast of old and new. Built in 1938, The Theatre's original architecture boasts a classic 1930's vibe that has been paired with elegant decor creating a modern twist. The Mission Theatre comfortably accommodates up to 250 guests seated. Renovated from floor to ceiling in 2017, The Mission Theatre's crystal chandeliers, polished concrete floors, elaborate accent walls, and custom marquee, will charm and captivate your guests.

Facilities and Capacity

  • The Main Ballroom: The Main Ballroom is luxuriously decorated with crystal chandeliers to give a nod to the vintage style of the venue.
  • The Lobby: The Theatre has an elegantly embellished lobby that leads guests to the entrance of the Main Ballroom.
  • The Bridal Suite + The Groom's Room: Secluded from the wedding on a completely different floor, the Bridal Suite and Groom’s Room are extra spacious and have their own space on the second floor. They overlook the Main Ballroom so the wedding party can sneak a peek at the wedding while they get ready. The suites features all of the necessities to make your getting ready process as stress-free as possible.
  • The Alley: A photo opportunity that you won't want to miss! On the side of our building is a long alleyway that's adorned with string lights and paves the way for intimate photos as newlyweds or even a first look!
  • The 3,500-square-foot Mission Theatre is perfectly suited for your and your guests to celebrate your special day, accommodating up to 250 guests seated, or 400 guests standing.
  • Guests will reminisce about your entrance as newlyweds from the Theatre's Grand Staircase for years to come.

    Beautiful Venue, Amazing Staff

    The venue itself is beautiful; the main event space has plenty of room for guests to mingle & dance. The bar is dual sided so we could get drinks quick & easy! The bridal & groom suite were loaded with everything you could need for the day. Plenty of space for all 8 of my bridesmaids & I to get ready with our hair & makeup team. The grooms suite was equipped with poker chips, a tv, and other things to keep the guys entertained while they waited for us girls to get ready.

    The team at the venue made the experience a breeze. They were great at communicating, whether that was answering my many questions or setting up meetings to see the venue with our planner & our final walkthrough. They were on top of it all. Alexis was super helpful & knowledgeable during our final walkthrough so the day would be perfect. On the day of, Taylorwas there the whole time to make sure everything was set up & ready for our ceremony & reception.

    Honestly could not imagine hosting our wedding anywhere else; it was such an amazing night thanks to the help of everyone at The Mission Theatre.

    Dream come true

    My husband and I chose Mission Theatre for our big day. We could not have made a better choice. It is a perfect location, the staff were amazing throughout the entire planning process and the day of. The "Gatsby" feel we got when we first toured sold us on the venue. It has such a unique personality that we couldn't get married anywhere else!

    If we had to do it over again, we would definitely go with Mission Theatre again! Thanks for Main Street Events for making this venue available for us!
