Beautiful Reception!!

The Public Landing was perfect for our small, simple wedding reception! The event coordinator, Dana, is absolutely amazing. She made sure that everything was perfect and the way that we envisioned our special day. Our reception could not have been more perfect!

Amazing Venue!

My husband and I got married at Public Landing and it was easily the best decision we’ve ever made. Everything was beautiful from start to finish. Dana was so helpful through the whole process and was there for us the entire night whenever we needed anything. Our guests were complementing us throughout the night on how great everything was. Our day could not have been any more perfect. I would easily recommend Public Landing to anyone! Thanks, Dana for making our night so memorable!

Great Venue

We held both our ceremony and reception at the Public Landing. Dana and the rest of the staff were fantastic, and so easy to work with!

Lockport has been putting a lot of effort into downtown area, including rotating art installations, so we got some bonus lights and lanterns alongside Lincoln Landing. We did have not one, but two trains run past during the ceremony, but it turned out to be good comedic relief!

The event space is gorgeous. We had a little over 100 guests, and they fit the space perfectly. I was a little worried the dance floor was going to be too small - it's long and narrow - but it was fine. There was an event in the museum/gallery space of the Gaylord Building that night. I walked out of the reception to grab something from the bridal suite and a bunch of strangers turned to look at me, which was a little weird, but we didn't end up with wedding crashers or anything (not that Dana would have let anyone get away with even thinking about it!).

Food was amazing! I mean, just look at this amazing cake of cheese Dana and Chef Jeff pulled off! My husband was beyond thrilled with it.

All in all, we are so pleased we chose the Public Landing for our wedding!!

Having our reception at the Public Landing was easily one of the best wedding decisions we made. First of all, the restaurant is housed in the historic Gaylord building, which provided for a breathtakingly beautiful site, full of charm and history. Additionally, the newly-renovated gardens and park next door also made a beautiful spot to take photos before the reception started. And because PL is first and foremost a restaurant, the food was absolutely amazing! We kept getting compliments all night (and have since after the wedding) on how great the food was. My favorite part of the meal was dessert, though - we opted not to have a cake in order to serve our guests their signature dessert: a basket made of caramel, filled with white chocolate mousse and fresh berries. The restaurant area is on the first floor of the building, while the banquet area is on floor two, which meant that our party was completely our own - no random people wandering in or walking through.

Probably the best part about choosing the Public Landing would have to be the staff. Tim, the event coordinator there, made everything incredibly easy for us and was extremely accommodating. For example, our reception was on a Saturday night and we wanted to come in to decorate the day before. Even though they were approached to have another event there on Friday, Tim reserved the space for us so that we were able to decorate on Friday afternoon.

I honestly can't say enough great things about Public Landing. It's a restaurant that my family has been going to since I was a child, and having my wedding reception there was perfect.

Amazing Wedding

I chose this venue as a home-town alternative to an expensive venue in the city and could not be happier! The building and surrounding landscape are beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff is professional and knows what they are doing. Dana, the wedding planner, is amazing has a lot of experience. She made my whole wedding planning process so much easier.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding ceremony and reception at Public Landing in October 2015. It was a beautiful fall day and the venue was lovely. The staff was very professional, helpful, and efficient. My constructive criticism is that it seems like everything would run more easily if Event Coordinator Melissa had a second person helping her handle everything. She seems to be doing the job of 2 or 3 people. The venue was packed with events immediately before and after ours and I felt slightly rushed on a day that could have been enhanced by more personalized attention. I understand that they like to 'keep things simple,' but it might be helpful to share more information with clients instead of only providing answers when directly asked. Also, it doesn't seem terribly appropriate to call the groom with logistical questions at 10am the morning after his wedding. We had a lovely day, but there were definitely a few irritations that future couples should be prepared to encounter if selecting this as a wedding venue.
