The Jarvis at 220 is a historic wedding venue situated in downtown New Bern, North Carolina. The mansion has been extensively renovated in 2018 into a four-bedroom/4 bath home that operates as a flexible event space. Owners Brandi and Bret Strickland bought the venue the end of 2022 and want to ensure an amazing stay for all of their guests. The venue is available for booking your dream wedding or next event. Couples can invite their loved ones to enjoy wedding ceremonies, receptions, bridal showers, engagement parties, elopements, and rehearsals at the facility, which offers both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Facilities and Capacity

Many couples choose to have their bridal party stay overnight at The Jarvis, where they are able to get ready in the comfort of a "homebase" for the big day, having everything they need on-hand. On the big day, the groom and groomsmen can relax downstairs at the Cellar Door, a 1,000-square-foot pub containing a pool table, darts, foosball, big screen TV's and a bar area. The outdoor garden patio space can accommodate a sit-down reception for 100 guests or 200 guests for just the ceremony. Our interior main floor can host a smaller sit down reception for 25 in the main dining room. This main floor is also popular to host a bridal shower and can accomodate 40 guests. The main floor has a large welcoming foyer with baby grand piano, 3 large living rooms that are open to one another and the large dining room. All these spaces are open to each other.

Couples can choose their vendors from a list of preferred vendors who have established a wonderful, reliable, and professional working relationship with The Jarvis at 220. The venue garden patio can accommodate a 40' x 40' tent if needed for a seated reception of 100 guests, and if couples are looking for a more spacious reception area, the Jarvis has teamed up with the nearby Tryon Palace or Stanly Hall Ballroom to accommodate larger groups.

Accommodation

The Jarvis at 220 offers four different suites in the main house, providing couples accommodations for their weekend event. The suites are the Jarvis, Simpson, Bruin, and Sunset, all boasting their own unique features. The designated bridal suite is the Jarvis Suite, highlighting a king bed, a balcony, a sitting area, a decorative fireplace, and a beautiful en-suite bathroom. We now offer the Gleason Honeymoon Cottage behind the main house which features a newly renovated living room, kitchen, master suite and master bath. The newly weds can spend their wedding night in complete privacy on the property. We can accommodate up to 10 guest for your wedding weekend. Those staying overnight have use of a chef’s kitchen, laundry facility, and off-street parking, among other amenities.

The Jarvis at 220 is located two hours east of Raleigh and 30 minutes from the coast of North Carolina. The town of New Bern is situated where the Neuse and Trent rivers converge within walking distance of the charming downtown area. Just five minutes away is the Coastal Carolina Regional Airport, making this venue a perfect weekend getaway.
