The Hills of Luella

Rolling hills, a waterfront gazebo and an all-wood Amish barn: this is real Texas country, just north of McKinney, serving couples throughout North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Set on 32 private acres of rolling hills, mature trees and a peaceful pond, the property feels worlds away from the city while sitting just a short drive north of McKinney.

Outdoor ceremonies take place at either a white gazebo on the water’s edge, with natural greenery and open sky as the backdrop or in a wooded grove with rustic white oak benches. Couples who prefer to stay indoors can also hold both the ceremony and reception inside the barn. Built entirely of wood by Amish craftsmen, the barn offers a warm, authentic character that sets it apart from modern metal structures. Inside, a cathedral ceiling, dimmable chandeliers and a glass wall overlooking the water give the 4,000-square-foot space a blend of rustic charm and quiet elegance. A back deck extends the view, and a fire pit and outdoor stage for live music add even more ways to celebrate.

The barn seats up to 200 guests and includes:

The owners are hands-on from the first tour through the final send-off. They share referrals for trusted local caterers, photographers, DJs and bakers, keep in close touch throughout planning and are on-site the day of the event. Venue staff can help with serving, cake cutting, guest entrances and packing up at the end of the night.
