Gorgeous views and landscaping. The pictures were wonderful and the front lawn was the perfect location for our tent reception. Fantastic venue!

We were very happy with our ceremony at Grosse Pointe Academy Chapel. The chapel was breathtaking. We used a string trio for our music, and it set the mood perfectly. The only things negative things i can say are that they can take a while to get back to you, but that is because Peggy (who handles ceremony planning) is only in the office 3 days per week, also they were a little stringent on getting us out of the chapel immediately after the ceremony, since it costs so much to use the space, we were expecting a little more time to take pictures with our families. All in all, it was the perfect place to get married!

The Grosse Pointe Academy's reply:
We are glad you enjoyed holding your ceremony in our chapel. It is truly a special place. Since your wedding took place in 2013 our staff has changed and we are in the office 5 days a week. We try to respond very promptly to requests for information and inquires via email and phone. The Academy allows 2 hours for your arrival, ceremony and photography on the day of the wedding. If one needs additional time it can be booked on a per hour fee basis. Thank you.Jenn B. · Married on 09/12/2020
How to make a bride cry....
and not in a good way. Where should we begin? To start, it is very difficult to get in contact with this venue to work out any details. My niece, the bride, tried to contact the coordinator for several weeks and no one called her back to confirm the venue and that the event was still scheduled as planned, due to the current pandemic situation. Once the event was confirmed and about a month before the event, my niece was told the academy would not be supplying chairs. This was disappointing because one would think this information should have been disclosed at the time

the event was planned. Additionally, when the wedding party showed up for the rehearsal, the coordinator was so disorganized that the officiant ended up directing the wedding party. On the day of the event, the coordinator was late and the building was closed, even though the bridal party was told the building would be open all day. This forced the bride and groom to see each other before the wedding and the bridal party only had 30 minutes to prepare. Then, before the ceremony commenced and during the bride's pre-wedding photos, the coordinator confronted the bride, instead of anyone else who would be less affected, and demanded that the chairs be moved immediately from where they were placed. This is information that could have been given to the groom or father of either the bride or groom or anyone other than the bride. This was very upsetting to my niece and totally unnecessary. In conclusion, the coordinator was unprofessional and truthfully the only thing you're paying for is a lawn. We, a very large and social family, would NEVER recommend this venue service to anyone, let alone a bride who is looking forward to one of the most important days of her life.

We are very sorry to hear about your experience with our venue. For outdoor weddings, chairs are not included with the fee, and that information is provided to prospective couples prior to booking their wedding. The Grosse Pointe Academy Price Rates
