    Syliva was wonderful!! Excellent attention to detail and very responsive to our questions and inquiries. Sylvia really supported us throughout the wedding process and made sure that we knew she was putting us first!

    Sylvia is the BEST!!!

    Sylvia was absolutely wonderful to work with while planning my wedding. Her attention to detail, flexibility, and responsiveness made our wedding planning process so much easier.

    Gorgeous views and landscaping. The pictures were wonderful and the front lawn was the perfect location for our tent reception. Fantastic venue!

    Overall good

    It was beautiful and Sylvia was very helpful. We had a minor organ problem that Stephanie helped us with.

    Ceremony/GP Academy Chapel

    I am a bride who got married at GP Academy Chapel October of 2022. The chapel itself is absolutely stunning and I was very happy with the chapel and the property overall. It’s right on the water which is gorgeous for photos. Throughout my engagement I worked with Sylvia who was wonderful. She was very responsive, kind and always helpful. Unfortunately we did not have the best experience once our care was handed over to another coordinator, Juliana. She actually forgot our rehearsal dinner and was quite rude when we spoke to her the evening it happened. After many phone calls and back and forth discussion she finally sent Sylvia over to complete our rehearsal, over an hour late which interviewed with our dinner plans. I understand things happen but I did not appreciate the way she handled things or spoke to my husband and I. It was very stressful for us right before our wedding with 50+ guests in front of us. I can’t say enough about Sylvia and how awesome she is. I would just triple check your dates and times so this isn’t forgotten for others moving forward. I would recommend this venue as it’s beautiful but it is very important to stay on top of things.

    We sincerely apologize, Angela, for the stress you experienced on your rehearsal day. Julianna is usually in 30 minutes prior to when she needs to be, and is a very kind person. The unfortunate experience of her husband being rushed to the hospital right before she was leaving I'm sure had her emotions on high, especially with the unknown. She was distraught she couldn't be there for you. Again, we are so sorry you were affected by it.

    How to make a bride cry....

    and not in a good way. Where should we begin? To start, it is very difficult to get in contact with this venue to work out any details. My niece, the bride, tried to contact the coordinator for several weeks and no one called her back to confirm the venue and that the event was still scheduled as planned, due to the current pandemic situation. Once the event was confirmed and about a month before the event, my niece was told the academy would not be supplying chairs. This was disappointing because one would think this information should have been disclosed at the time
    the event was planned. Additionally, when the wedding party showed up for the rehearsal, the coordinator was so disorganized that the officiant ended up directing the wedding party. On the day of the event, the coordinator was late and the building was closed, even though the bridal party was told the building would be open all day. This forced the bride and groom to see each other before the wedding and the bridal party only had 30 minutes to prepare. Then, before the ceremony commenced and during the bride's pre-wedding photos, the coordinator confronted the bride, instead of anyone else who would be less affected, and demanded that the chairs be moved immediately from where they were placed.This is information that could have been given to the groom or father of either the bride or groom or anyone other than the bride. This was very upsetting to my niece and totally unnecessary. In conclusion, the coordinator was unprofessional and truthfully the only thing you're paying for is a lawn. We, a very large and social family, would NEVER recommend this venue service to anyone, let alone a bride who is looking forward to one of the most important days of her life.

    We are very sorry to hear about your experience with our venue. For outdoor weddings, chairs are not included with the fee, and that information is provided to prospective couples prior to booking their wedding.

    Though COVID-19 did provide challenges for all wedding venues, including ours, it sounds like your family’s experience went well beyond the difficulties caused by the pandemic.
