About

The Flower Carte began out of a desire to serve couples like you by providing stunning flowers and upscale design without the designer price tag. We make it easy and enjoyable to have gorgeous florals by providing a streamlined process and tips along the way for those of you who may be interested in a little DIY.

We love our town! And we love to support Chattanooga businesses as much as we can, especially the flower farms in the area. After several years of designing flowers for clients both local and abroad, Emily realized that she wanted to be the kind of resource she wished had been available to her when she was getting married—a place where you can afford a designer’s input while also having access to specialty flowers rather than being at the mercy of the local grocery store picks...you know the one we are talking about ;) .

There's nothing more interesting and beautiful than the natural growth of a local stem and the unexpected variances in the petals of a dirt-grown flower. When the local blooms are not available, we use our knowledge and experience to source other beautiful flowers from our extensive network across the U.S. and even abroad.

We understand too that you'll need a little guidance which is why we have the packages set up the way that we do! All you have to do is choose from our prepared color palettes and styles and then we will use our expertise to choose the best of what's in season to bring you a cohesive and well curated assortment of flowers to your wedding.

Amazing Experience!

We did the DIY option with The Flower Carte and our flowers turned out BEAUTIFUL! One of my husband's cousins used to be a florist so she very kindly put them all together for us. When I called her to ask about the supplies needed (though Flower Carte did provide a list that she said was very accurate for necessary supplies!), she did mention that boutonnieres and corsages are more difficult than they appear. There was a major storm the day of our delivery, but they let us know and did a wonderful job transporting them. The DIY option made is so much more affordable and I'm so glad that we used them! They were so sweet, professional, and everything turned out beautiful! I did the rose gold palette in the romantic style.

Easy DIY, Extravagant, Affordable

Emily is a true artist. I am so happy she had the availability to do our wedding. We looked into many different florists, but she was the ONLY one who offered DIY packages. At first, I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to put together what I was envisioning. I have absolutely no experience with putting together floral arrangements or installations. Before the wedding, I had never even put together a bouquet of flowers. I chose the partial DIY package so that I wouldn't have to worry about putting together all the boutonnieres, corsages, and bridesmaid/bride bouquets, and some centerpieces. But, I still had to put some centerpieces, swags, and a fireplace installation together on my own. To make things more cost-effective for myself, I opted to do mostly non-floral centerpieces. We did donut hole topiaries instead and stuck a few of her flowers in them, they turned out lovely. She provided very clear and simple videos that were incredibly easy to follow!!! The day before the wedding, she dropped off the things my friends and I were going to DIY, then the morning of she dropped off the items she made for us. I would 100% recommend you to use her instead of Costco. Her florals and greenery are from local farms, they look unique and beautiful. It will look like you spent $5-10,000 when you've really just spent a small fraction of that. She is communicative, approachable, prompt, and insanely talented. Oh! And she has another company that is geared to destination weddings. So, if you do have a larger budget, check out her other business. I know you are going to love her as much as I did. And if you have some friends to help you out, dive in and do the DIY option. I had absolutely no prior experience, and neither did my friends or family, and it turned out better than I had dreamed.

Emily
Owner, lead designer

Emily founded Flower Carte out of a desire to serve Chattanooga based couples and to support the local flower farms. After several years of designing flowers for clients both local and abroad, Emily realized that she wanted to be the kind of resource she wished had been available to her when she was getting married—a place where you can afford a designer’s input and have access to specialty flowers. Thus Flower Carte was born!

With a background in fine art, Emily sees flower arranging as a combination of sculpture and painting. She loves the way using a variety of colors of blooms can affect an overall arrangement in the same way that blending paints creates a new color on a canvas. The tangible and even breathable presence of flowers fills her with joy and she revels in every opportunity to bring this irreplaceable delight to the atmosphere of each wedding she is honored to be a part of.

Anna and Emily worked together at Emily’s original floral studio. When Emily imagined a new business that focused on serving Chattanooga couples and sourcing local blooms, she knew she had to bring a warm and enthusiastic Anna with her. Recently married herself, Anna knows exactly what you are going through! And trust us, you'll want her on your team. You'll never meet a more loyal, fun and harworking friend.
