I loved the simple yet classy look to this venue! The staff was great to work with and our vendors knew exactly how to navigate the space. We ended up purchasing an additional hour to make sure that we had plenty of time on the wedding day. I continue to receive positive comments from our guests regarding the venue. Following the reception, our party continued in The Square - perfect location! This is where you want to have your wedding!Sent on 02/24/2020

We wanted a space for our elopement that would feel elegant and official, but allow us some privacy. The lighting in the courtroom was perfect and because we had our ceremony on a weekday afternoon, it was a steal! Also the square is perfect for pictures and celebrating on the town after the ceremony, if it is a small party.Sent on 12/02/2019

Amazing and Affordable Venue
We had our wedding reception at the Dekalb History Center in November 2019 with our wedding ceremony at a church offsite. This venue books FAST, likely based on it's amazing price and location. We luckily snagged the last 2019 date when we were venue hunting in the fall of 2018 after a cancellation. Mallory was very easy to work with as the venue coordinator to schedule a site visit and to book the venue. Our wedding was the same day as the Decatur Wine Fest so she gave our vendors extra time to unload and setup at no extra cost. She also followed up right after our wedding to discuss the evening, which we thought was very nice. The venue fit our 150 guests perfectly with a large estate table, a 6 piece band, one bar and a photobooth. Cocktail hour was kind of crowded with this amount of guests because it was too cold to use any outdoor space but it was definitely manageable. The dance floor was on the smaller side with our setup but it made the dance area feel full and everybody had so much fun. A big perk of this place is the ability to provide your own alcohol which saves a lot of $. We did a bubble send off in the front of the venue as they don't allow sparklers anymore but it ended up looking great! The DHC location is amazing for out of town guests with ample restaurants and easy MARTA access. We booked our guest block at the Hampton Inn and held our rehearsal dinner at Parkers on Ponce, both which are only one block away. We also recommend Bloom Florals, Emerald Empire Band and Sun In My Belly for catering. Overall would highly recommend DHC!Sent on 01/12/2020
The DeKalb History Center Price Rates
This is such a special venue. I've done several weddings here and clients have always loved it. The ballroom is beautiful and classic, an easy space to leave clean or to add decor to, but not necessary. We've had ceremonies and receptions here or just the reception. I look forward to working at Historic DeKalb Courthouse again soon!
As a professional wedding videographer for over 15, I have filmed numerous weddings at The Historic DeKalb Courthouse... It is a lovely, elegant location, with a beautiful and spacious room; for both ceremonies and receptions. It also has an historic quaintness to it! Highly recommended for you special day.
We've delivered many wedding cakes to the DeKalb Courthouse, and each time I am reminded about how beautiful a setting this is for a wedding. I highly recommend brides check out this venue!
