History
William Jennings Bryan built this 1909 house as his winter farm residence between his 3rd run for presidency and becoming Secretary of State under Woodrow Wilson. He purchased 240 acres of land from town founder & master-plan developer John Conway and helped put the Rio Grande Valley on the national map. Once he moved to Washington DC he never moved back and the house passed through a farming family. In was restored in 1989 and then again in 2016 when the current owners opened it up to the public as a b&b, social event center, museum & photography venue.
