A wedding to remember...

The Black Hawk Hotel offers a beautiful, historical and intimate setting to begin anyone’s married life. Our event coordinators Deanna and Liz were accommodating throughout the entire process, assisting us with recommendations for vendors, caterers and every detail of our wedding. Their flexibility during the pandemic helped us make our wedding exactly how we wanted it.
Most of our guests stayed at the hotel and loved the uniqueness of each room and the ability to come and go during the weekend.
One of the highlights of the hotel is the Winslow Bar where you are magically drawn to a time of calming gracefulness where the cocktails are smoothly made by expert bartenders. I recommend the “sailors delight”.
We heartily endorse Deanna and Liz as the most helpful event coordinators and the black hawk hotel as the perfect venue for any event you may be planning.

Nothing short of fantastic!

We needed a last minute venue for our rain location for our small intimate ceremony and mini-reception this fall and the Black Hawk Hotel was nothing short of fantastic! We contacted them the Monday of our wedding and we were able to reserve a small room and have the bar to ourselves for a couple hours before they opened it up to the public. Deanna and the rest of the staff were clear with their communication and so helpful with all of the brainstorming we did at the last minute and answered all the questions we had. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous and made for some stunning photos - we didn't do much decorating at all other than some table-top stuff! They allowed us to set up the room however we liked and didn't charge us a set/up tear down fee since we did it all ourselves. We were also able to bring in our own food and cake, so we can't vouch for any catering or event services like that. If we had it in our budget we would've reserved the entire space for the whole evening. I had to dock a star because of the slower speed behind the bar and all of the mixed drinks were burnt and did not taste too good. I attributed that to the fact that we were a younger crowd and don't usually order any of the specialty drinks the Bar Winslow is known for. The bartenders did not wear their face masks the whole time, but our guests did not either. However I think it is worth noting, especially during the time of COVID-19 weddings. I am so happy with the way our day turned out and I'm even thinking about using them for future parties and events! If you're thinking about booking with them they are definitely worth contacting and touring! They made sure our day was absolutely as perfect as possible!
