Over twenty years ago, the owners, Kip and Kris Unruh, moved into their family home in Peculiar, Missouri. Throughout the years, they have raised their family there and even celebrated the weddings of their daughters on the property! Shortly after, they realized that they could transform their lush twenty acres into a stunning space for weddings for other couples too. That little idea became what is now known as The Barn at Riverbend!

The Barn at Riverbend is an unexpected hidden gem for Kansas City couples. The Barn sits on 20 acres of rolling landscapes, countless trees, and the clear view of the night sky that you can only get in the outskirts of the city. The white barn is as picture perfect as they come and the open air veranda just off the barn overlooks the river. Our Bridal Suite is situated up inside the loft of the Barn while the Groom's Cabin is just across the patio. The Barn was designed to be everything that you could dream of for your special day.

Spaces

The Barn at Riverbend's unique spaces will draw you in right away.

• Ceremony Hillside: Guests will enter the ceremony site by following the string-lit fenceline leading up to the hillside. They'll be seated for ceremony without seeing the rest of the venue until the take the wood lined path to cocktail hour.
• The Patio: Once you've officially become newlyweds, guests will take that path straight to the patio. There they'll enter into cocktail hour where our outdoor bar is.
• The Barn + Open Air Veranda: The barn is enclosed and equipped with heating and AC. Our Open Air Veranda is connected to the barn, which offers a covered reception and while still being able to enjoy the outdoors.
• The Bridal Loft + Groom's Cabin: The Bridal Suite is inside the loft of the barn and offers a full bathroom, seating, hanging space, and a long vanity. The Groom's Cabin is placed in its own space just next to the fire-pit with a back porch overlooking the river.
