Zen Creative Catering, formerly known as Taste Elegant Catering, is the fastest growing Catering Operation in Gainesville, Florida. We really pack a punch with our amazing displays, food quality, flexible menu options, and service! We do have a Catering Liqour License as well as a professional staff of Bartenders. We treat no wedding catering the same...each one is customized to your special day! We aim to provide a pleasureble experience and relieve the stress that you have in dealing with vendors. Once the menu is determined, a quote is submitted, and then we have a complimentary menu tasting for up to 4 guests. We want you to experience the quality, get to know us, and we get to learn about you and your special event!

We also offer a private venue... great to host smaller events from 20 - 120 people. Perfect for Rehearsal Dinners & Showers. Complete with a Bar, Sound System, & Dining Options.

Zen Creative Catering, features and excels in all types of cuisines ranging from Southern/Homestyle favorites like Sliced Angus Brisket, Marinated Oven Roasted Chicken, Homemade Macaroni & Cheese, and Creamy Garlic Whipped Mashed Potatoes to Cuban Favorites like Picadillo, Mojo Pork, Cilantro Chicken, Sweet Plantains, & Black Beans and Rice. We cook Italian favorites and specialize in Asian Items that are featured in 2 of our Asian Restaurant locations. Our Lobster Bisque has won many awards and is considered a local favorite. We also specialize in Heavy Hors D'Oeuvres & Appetizer packages!

We are known for our magnificent Sushi Boat Displays & Grand Charcuterie Boards. Either or both of this Statement Displays are sure to have your guest snapping photos and tagging your special day to their social media! They really bring "The WOW" to your event!

Delicious Food

We met Chris Shindle, Taste Elegant Catering, at a Bridal Expo a year before our wedding date. We were intrigued with his southern style brunch buffet options (the groom loves biscuits & gravy) and experience with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. We found Chris to be very personable and took him up on an offer to do a “tasting.” We had 8 family members there, but no bride and groom who had moved out of state. But the tasting was fun and the food excellent. We planned a church venue for the wedding and reception for 75+, but COVID’s impact changed this to a small 21 guest backyard wedding. Chris cheerfully met with us in our backyard to make the drastic revisions. The day of the outdoor wedding was spectacular and Chris and his staff’s professional set-up and service with the delicious, unique food was a big hit. You can’t go wrong with Taste Elegant Catering! Chris makes even the craziest of weddings easy

I had my tasting in sep '19 for my oct '20 wedding. He saved me so much time, money and headache right from the get go by partnering with a rental company so he could be my nearly one stop shop for everything. He really took the time to get to know us and kept in regular contact to make sure he had everything we needed. He provided the bartender our venue required, the linens flatware, silverware dessert stands that perfectly matched my table centerpieces and even a speaker for our music!

Then Covid struck. He kept me in high spirits and continued to go above and beyond to calm my nerves that my day would be special no matter what. He bent over backwards to make sure the wedding would not only be beautiful but safe as can be by adjusting how food was served etc.

Right as I walked down the aisle in my beautiful outdoor venue it began to absolutely pour. His people were discreet as they ran out to save the speaker, opened doors to get us out of the rain and came right away to ask what we needed on top of all the magic he was doing behind the scenes taking care of my guests.

And as if all of that wasn’t enough the food was fantastic! everyone was going on and on about all the food, how gorgeous the charcuterie display was, all the non-alcoholic drinks as well as the drinks. Our guest count went from 60 to 18 thanks to the pandemic and he never batted an eye at changing almost everything even up to the day before.

My mother in law hired him to cater our rehearsal brunch as well as a recently engaged friend of mine has booked with him after her tasting. He is absolutely amazing and worth every penny I cannot say enough how amazing he was!

Excellent Catering Company

Our experience with Taste Elegant Catering was nothing but great. Our wedding was postponed due to COVID-19 and the flexibility Taste had with our situation was so helpful. They were on time and very professional with their serving and the food was displayed great. The food was excellent and all the guests were talking about how delicious the food was. We would recommend Taste Elegant Catering to anyone interested in hiring a catering company. They did a great job and made the food the easiest part of planning the wedding.

in one word AMAZING!!!

Chis at Taste Elegant did a fantastic job!!! we were having trouble finding a caterer that was able to make the food e needed for our wedding. even though it was not on their menu they gave it a try and was amazing. We had indian food and italian 2 main meat dishes and 2 veggitarian dishes with sides. and everyone loved it!!
Chris was very helpful and honest!!! they are priced extreamly well and are very professional. The whole team stayed with covid guidelines during reception with masks and gloves . We highly recommend Taste. Make sure to order a little extra to take with you, you will be craving the food afterwards for weeks!

Just Perfect

Christ from Taste saved our wedding.

Chris is absolutely amazing and creative with food and presentation in a pinch. We had to change the date, location, and guest count in 3 weeks time due to covid. He not only pulled it together but with excellence in every way. He will do every catering we now have.

Great Recommendation

Taste was recommended to us by our wedding planner as we are not from the area and didn’t know where to start for catering and I can see why they were. They were very prompt in their responses to our requests or questions, even with a change of contact person midway through. They also had great recommendations for the day like appetizer options, etc. that ended up being a huge hit during cocktail hour and was beautifully presented! They were quick to refill and were not shy with their portion sizes for the guests as they went through the buffet line. They even prepared and stored all leftovers (with waiver authorization) for us to easily load up to take home. The staff was so friendly and had constant smiles on their faces while serving our guests and offered genuine congratulations to us as they passed by. With a wide range of menu options, Taste is able to meet any need you may have for your event, that will only leave guests wanting seconds, we highly recommend!

Tasteful and Affordable

Taste catered my sister's wedding and they did a phenomenal job. They offer the full catering experience (from linens, plates, food, and a full bar). We were all blown away by their beautiful 8ft sushi boat and a charcuterie board. Food was delicious and service was friendly, prompt and professional. My family truly appreciated the experience.

Memorable Experience

When looking for a caterer it was hard finding good rates, the right food menu, and wonderful service that matched my budget for my family's reunion. Taste worked with me to find a package that offered my culture's food and it's restrictions with an affordable price! Working with them was a joy and I can't wait to work with them again for my daughter's quinceanera!
