PERFECT!!! Sunset Lodges was exactly what we were looking for.

We didn't want a traditional wedding venue ( hotel etc.) but something more laid back in a beautiful setting.This is exactly what we got. We had our wedding party and a few other guest stay on-site and the rest at nearby motels / hotels so this made for a fun weekend. Guest enjoyed the many activities at sunset lodges ( ping-pong, canoes, pool table, sitting by the fire) We were the 2nd wedding at the site and fairly larger than the first wedding they had so it required some work on Sunset Lodges part to get it ready. Rick and his team were amazing to work with - they were responsive and accommodating to make sure the property would work for us. Even to the point where they had to move the bathrooms they had just built to make room for our bigger tent. Which now allows for them to have a bigger tents in the future. :-) but that is the kind of folks they are - willing to make things work and help out.

we used three areas at Sunset Lodges - the volleyball court for ceremony, the pavilion for cocktail hour and after party and a grass area for the main event. Our guest can not stop talking about the venue and want to come back for a long weekends. Also they loved being at one spot for all of it.

So if you are looking for a different kind of venue this it! I'll also note that we were a bit concerned about a tent in October with a tent heater it wasn't cold at all.

Brian and I were the first ever wedding at Sunset Lodges, and it didn't show at all! I had guests coming up to me asking about the venue, and if it was mentioned it was their first, they couldn't believe it (even my photographer couldn't believe it, and said she would be coming back for vacation with her family and their boat!). Everything was perfect and beautiful, right on the Basin on Lake Winnipesaukee. That meant it was private, with the extra added bonus of being on the big open lake! Not only did my guests have an amazing time with the outdoor ping-pong tables, horse shoe pit and out-door fire place, there were also canoes, paddle boats, row boats and even amazing motor boats available.
They had a great area for a decent sized tent, and a pavilion right on the water that was gorgeous for the ceremony. The many docks made for amazing photographs, and the sun sets right across the lake for a beautiful sunset ceremony. There was also plenty of parking for my guests, with the added convenience of easy drive up access to both the tent and pavilion for older folks.
Management was very helpful and friendly, and made sure the day ran smoothly, working in the background to make sure nothing went wrong. They are very knowledgeable of town and state laws, and conscientious of the safety of the lake's wildlife and health. They were also very open and receptive to our requests regarding everything.
They even had plans already underway to improve their facilities for future weddings (including but not limited to laundry facilities and separate bathrooms and showers from the cabins). By the end of the weekend, they were like family, and we will most definitely be going back in the many happy years to come!
