Great food exelent service great value would recommend to everyone!!!!!!!

Spaunhorst Catering has the best prices with good quality food. There was a lot of food for our money. I was always able to get in contact with the owner when I needed to, and she always answered my questions promptly. We received many compliments on the food. The only issue I had was that because we had unexpected snow and icy conditions on our wedding day, many of our out of town guests did not show up. We paid for a lot of food that did not get eaten, and we were not allowed to keep it. They informed us that it was an insurance issue and they legally had to throw the food away because they were not insured to give leftovers. I completely believe this, but we did not know this until the day of the wedding. I asked the owner before hand if we got to keep leftovers, and the only response I got was that they make just the right amount of food so there never was any left overs. Which was probably true, had our out of town guests not had to cancel coming at the last minute. I just wish I had gotten a more straight answer before hand.

For the amount we spent this was well worth it! This was the cheapest place around and the best quality and it came with so much. We paid less than $8 a plate. The chicken was nice and moiste and wasn't dry at all like most wedding buffets.

Spaunhorst Catering is run by a lady who has over 30 years of experience doing wedding and event catering. She specializes in down-home food, like you would expect for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Her prices are simply the best. She charges in the neighborhood of seven dollars a person for your choice of two meats (we got the roast beef and chicken with dressing), moscatolli, a potato dish (we got mashed), green beans, pasta salad, potato salad, jello salad, homemade bread, a relish dish, apple pie, cherry pie, and bread pudding. She also provides beverages and plastic plates and cutlery. Again, the food is not fancy, but it is hearty and delicious. Rose Mary arrived on time and had everything ready at the start of the reception.

Out of everything, the chicken, potato salad, homemade bread and green beans got the most compliments, and the apple pie got the least.

Overall, we were very happy with the prompt response and quality of the final product. (And of course, you will have a hard time finding a better price anywhere.)

The cost of the food is hard to beat. They are super cheap and the food is really good. The only thing I did not like was that they were supposed to bring lemonade and they didn't. Also, they were supposed to cut the cost per plate since we used our wedding cake for dessert, but they didn't.

The food was great but the customer service when we had concerns after the even was not. I will NEVER USE Them again and will be sure to let everyone I know what kind of people they are dealing with should they look into using them.

Awful customer service. Said food was homemade and never frozen-but roast beef was freezer burnt and DRY, Potatoes tasted like a deep freeze and the buns were hard-like they had been FROZEN. They called guests liars and stole cupcakes before bride and groom even hadn't their first dance or cut the cake! I saw them with my own eyes! They expected a tip if "25 dollars a piece" after only serving food for an hour and packing up!! The bride's mother didn't even get to eat because she was socializing and by the time she got up to the line they were packing up. No one got seconds even though they had TONS of food left over and their employees were eating plates behind the curtain. I saw that too, but they made sure to tell the bride and groom that they had some dishonest people coming to their wedding when they were asked about it.. the bride and groom are some of the nicest people I know and I've rarely EVER heard them complain. The way this "company " treated them after they pocketed $2,250 and left with over 800 worth of food that was already paid for is total crap! Will spread the word til I'm blue in the face. DO NOT USE SPAUNHORST CATERING!!!! They deleted their Facebook page so no one could see the bad reviews from everyone after this wedding, if that's any indication of what kind of people they are. I wish they could get a zero because that's what I'd give them.

Do not use this caterer! Horrible service to their clients. Poor attitudes and lots of excuses for their own lack of consideration towards their customers. As you can see by reviews from Ashley on fb they have an excuse for everything! They have an excuse for why their employees stole cupcakes from the client, they'll call everyone at your wedding liars when they speak up about their terrible service, they have an excuse for why they trashed the clients leftovers even though a kitchen was paid for to refrigerate their food, hell...they even keep bringing up the fact that half of the clients out of state family couldn't make it to the wedding and they are sorry that their family didn't celebrate their special day with them. When people pay thousands of dollars for catering they expect great service, good communication for a well planned evening, a friendly and professional staff, good quality food, and consideration for their needs and wants for their special day. You will get none of this for your money with Spaunhorst. You'll get petty snide remarks, lies from staff stating her employees would never steal cupcakes but then saying her daughter brought one home for her husband. Then she'll leave snide remarks that they shouldnt have bothered since they were only cupcakes from store bought cake boxes. She'll even keep referring to a contract that she can't and won't provide. Even though she wasn't present at the event she'll deny every complaint made against her staff stating they'd never do that. She'll throw out the food you paid good money for by throwing it out instead of putting it in the refrigerator provided to them and then lie on public forums stating it's a health hazard because it could be out more than two hours when you add on time for your trip back home. (Not if you would have refrigerated it after everyone was served). She'll even attempt to belittle you on Fb when you don't rate her with a high rating in an honest review. Go elsewhere!!!
