I had my reception at Southern Oaks Plantation and it was absolutely perfect. The food is so good, guests do not go hungry and are not forced to wai in long lines at teh buffet. Waiters/servers are constanlty circulating throughout the room with platters of food.The staff catered to me, my husband and my parents. I was able to catch my breath with my bridal party before we took picturesand I was also able to spend time alone with my husband to have dinner. The venue is beautiful. My wedding was in the evening so the pool/patio area was well-lit and gorgeous. I thoroughly enjoyed my reception and I stillget compliments about my reception two years later. I have never regretted choosing Southern Oaks.

I just attended a wedding at this venue for the first time. The food was fantastic. The service was wonderful and the staff was helpful. This is a great place to have an event.

Southern Oaks was a dream come true! The outdoor ceremony was amazing (and beautiful) and the indoor reception was...well....amazing! The staff is so helpful and informative. They truly care about every detail of your wedding and they make sure everything for your day goes off without a hitch! I really can't say enough about this wonderful staff. During the reception the bride and groom along with their parents have 'personal attendants' that keep their drinks full and make sure all their needs are met. The attendants let you know when it is time for everything to happen (cake cutting, tosses, ect..). The week of your wedding you have a rehearsal with just you and your fiance and they walk you thru EVERYTHING you can expect to happen. They really put your mind at ease.

I would really need a book to tell you about all of the great things we experienced with southern oaks. This was by far the best decision we made in our planning process. The place is beyound gorgeous and service is unbeatable.

My husband and I married at Southern Oaks in June and words cannot fully express how WONDERFUL, AWESOME & MAGICAL our wedding experience was. Our guests (95% of which were from out of town) were totally blown away by the experience and almost all of them have commented that it was the best wedding they've ever been to. We’re both from CA and LOVE New Orleans, and many of our guests were first-time visitors to the city. Southern Oaks orchestrated a true NOLA experience for them, and helped affirm why we chose to have our wedding in the Big Easy!!

We've received such an outpouring of love, support and positive feedback from friends and family that we don't know what to do with ourselves! The facility was absolutely beautiful, the food was abundant and delicious, the music kept the party going, and the staff was pleasant and attentive.

Not to mention Stacey (our primary wedding coordinator) made the planning process a BREEZE. We were living in NYC at the time, and relied heavily on Stacey and the Southern Oaks team for vendor recommendations and their local expertise. It also helped that Southern Oaks was a one-stop shop for our food, drinks, music, photo booth, brass band and decorations (it’s nicely decorated, so we didn’t need to add anything). Stacey was responsive, organized, and maintained a detailed record of our preferences over the course of the 11-month planning process. The entire team was always friendly, ready and willing to help in any way possible. It’s a warm, down-home family-owned and operated business and we truly felt part of the family.

We are still on cloud 9, and I imagine we will be for some time. The wedding experience was the perfect start to our marriage, and was a blessing for us and many others in attendance. We undoubtedly recommend Southern Oaks as a venue for anyone considering a New Orleans wedding. We want any and everyone to experience the wonder, awesomeness and magic that is Southern Oaks! You WILL NOT be disappointed.

I can't stress enough how happy I am with our decision to get married at Southern Oaks Plantation. I have received so many complements - countless guests have told me that they have never attended a nicer wedding. The staff at Southern Oaks knows EXACTLY what they are doing. No stone is left unturned. They have every single detail covered for you, no matter how small it may seem.
The food is out of this world, and there's plenty of it. The service is second to none. My husband and I had our own personal attendants the night of the wedding, and they saw to it that we got a chance to have some private time together to eat. They were always available to get us a fresh cocktail or let us know what was coming up next. And it gets better - our parents also had attendants and wanted for nothing!
The place is absolutely beautiful. I feel like I got so much for my money. The plantation gorgeous, and at night when the mansion is lit up it is truly breathtaking.
Often times you hear brides say that no matter how much planning goes into your wedding, something will always go wrong. Well that certainly was not the case at Southern Oaks - absolutely nothing went wrong. I feel that our night was perfect, and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

I have no words to express how amazing my reception was I couldn't of asked for anything better they made it my dream come true from the entrance till the time it was over the food was amazing the service, music and our personal attendants all of our guest have said it was the best wedding they have ever been to I wish I could give more then 5 stars because it was that amazing thanks so much to Bobby Asaro and his staff! I will recommend to others!!!

There are no words to describe how perfect our wedding was at Southern Oaks. From the start, they were so easy to work with and took care of most of the details, which made it very easy to plan since my fiancé and I do not live in Louisiana. The wedding itself was magical! I could not turn around without someone filling my drink or asking if I needed anything and they treated our parents the same way. The plantation is amazing, inside and out, and our pictures are gorgeous! The staff made us feel like royalty the entire day. So many of our guests have said it's the best wedding they have ever been to! S.O. Is pricey but our parents and we feel it was worth every penny! Also, spring for the jazz band; they were pricey, but made all our guests so excited and started the party off with a bang!

I can not even begin to describe how amazing Southern Oaks is. We are from the DC area and wanted to do a destination wedding. We fell in love with Southern Oaks when we went to visit. Everyone was kind, the venue was beautiful and so many things were included so we decided this was our place. Wedding day comes and it was the most perfect day I could have ever asked for. Far exceeding our expectations. The food was AMAZING, the staff was attentive and kind. Some staff even joined us on the dance floor as they would clean a table and we just loved it. They handled everything from set up to clean up. We went with the horse and carriage and jazz band and these additions just took our wedding to another level! Fairytale wedding with a New Orleans flare. Multiple guests commented on the delicious food and said it was one of the best weddings they had ever been too and a lot of that is bc this venue was so amazing! They really brought our vision to light! I HIGHLY recommend!

Stacey made our dreams come true, she is a queen at what she does and she made our dream wedding possible. We flew in from Toronto, had about 100 people fly in as well. the food was PERFECT! Venue was PERFECT, everything was PERFECT!!! If you are in NOLA and not doing your wedding at SOP, you're doing it wrong.

There are venues that you can have a wedding at... and then there are venues that are made for having weddings. Southern Oaks is one of these places!!! Every dream I ever had of having a fairytale wedding came true with booking this venue. People kept asking me if I was nervous before our ceremony, and the answer was always "No" because I had nothing to worry about with the fantastically organized and brilliant team that took care of us from the moment we stepped out of our shuttle to stepping into our car after our grand exit. All of the little details that creep up on you getting closer to the big day at other venues- like when should such-and-such happen, who's going to tell such-and-such to do this and this exact moment, etc. all dissolved from my mind with Southern Oaks because they don't have just 1 person there to help you, but an entire team to make sure your night is everything you dreamed of! I would book this gorgeous venue 1000x over, pictures just do not capture the fairytale you step into on the most magical day of your life! Ps. Lauren is absolutely wonderful!
