Wow. Southern Oaks completely exceeded anything I had in mind for my wedding. Everything from planning my wedding to execution on the day of was flawless. The communication with them was so easy, they answered every call, question, and email promptly. I was planning this wedding from Texas and they made it as seamless as possible. Many of my guests were from out of town and they were In awe of the property and food. Many of my guests say it was the most beautiful wedding they have been to and the food was exceptional. I wish I could re live my day. I am forever grateful to southern oaks for giving me my dream wedding.

Best wedding venue ever 🩷
I had the pleasure of having my wedding at Southern Oaks in New Orleans, Louisiana. I am born and raised California girl who married a New Orleans southern gentleman. My husband was very adamant that we have our wedding in New Orleans and he knew the exact venue. He bragged about Southern Oaks and wanted me to have the most beautiful wedding experience. Being from California, I wasn’t sure what to expect But from day, one, the hospitality and communication with everyone at Southern Oaks was just absolutely amazing. We were fortunate enough to work with a lot of beautiful people, including Lauren our wedding coordinator. Not only does she listen to me, but she was very attentive one on one, even though I lived in California she made sure everything was perfectly arranged. When we arrived a few days before our wedding, she went over every little detail with us. I was able to drop off all the little special things that we’re gonna be details to make it that much more special. They absolutely did not disappoint. I have never attended a wedding like mine. All my friends from California were absolutely floored on how beautiful and how much fun the wedding was. The food, the drinks the people catering to everyone the entire experience was absolutely, priceless. There is nothing I can say but it was absolutely perfect. Bobby the owner was an angel. He brought an extra flare and sparkle to my wedding as a gift. If I were to do it all over again I would pick Southern Oaks 1000 times over. Gosh I would love to crush a wedding next time I go just so I can experience being a guest there lol it was such a great phenomenal day for us and we are so grateful to Southern oaks and other staff and owner. I would recommend this venue 1000 times over and I would like to say thank you again to everyone who tended to us on April 20, 2024 you gave us the best possible and we are extremely grateful 🥰🩷

Magical night
There are venues that you can have a wedding at... and then there are venues that are made for having weddings. Southern Oaks is one of these places!!! Every dream I ever had of having a fairytale wedding came true with booking this venue. People kept asking me if I was nervous before our ceremony, and the answer was always "No" because I had nothing to worry about with the fantastically organized and brilliant team that took care of us from the moment we stepped out of our shuttle to stepping into our car after our grand exit. All of the little details that creep up on you getting closer to the big day at other venues- like when should such-and-such happen, who's going to tell such-and-such to do this and this exact moment, etc. all dissolved from my mind with Southern Oaks because they don't have just 1 person there to help you, but an entire team to make sure your night is everything you dreamed of! I would book this gorgeous venue 1000x over, pictures just do not capture the fairytale you step into on the most magical day of your life! Ps. Lauren is absolutely wonderful!

Dream venue
I don't know how to find the right words to adequately explain how magical your wedding will be with Southern Oaks. From your very first visit through your special night, they make everything feel like a dream. The food, the enhancements, the special touches they went the extra mile on...It was overwhelming. When our night was finally coming to a close, we were sad to leave because we knew we were going to miss the team. Our Happily Ever After
My fiancé and I booked southern oaks after only reading reviews and looking at photos because we are from Chicago we were a little nervous to book without seeing it in person . Everyone thought I was crazy but I knew this place was perfect and I was right all of my dreams came true with southern oaks from my ceremony to the final exit the food AMAZING

Our wedding was like if it was in Heaven
The owner and the staff at Southern Oaks rolled out the red carpet for us from the moment we arrive to the moment we left; there was nothing more anyone could do as it was perfect in every way-it was more than a fairy tale wedding if was as if it was in Heaven as it was magical and perfect in every way as the father of the bride it exceeded every expectation and my daughter was the happiest young lady on the planet, and I was the happiest father on the planet. Every guest had an incredible experience and several commented on how excellent the staff was. The setting is like out of Disneyland, but better. The landscaping was unbelievable with perfectly manicured lawns, shrubs, thousands of lights, dozens of places to take breath-taking pictures.If you want to treat your daughter/son-in-law to the most amazing, magical, unforgettable wedding experience you need to have it at Southern Oaks, there's no better place to get married on the planet.

Wedding 5/20/22 AMAZING
Southern Oaks made our day absolutely perfect. The first day we got to the venue for our tour before we booked we fell in love with Southern Oaks. Lauren was our wedding coordinator and she was so prompt and helpful with every email and phone call I had throughout the year of planning. All of our guests can not stop talking about how beautiful everything was and they loved the food! Mr. Bobby and the team had some surprises for us after the ceremony that were amazing! Our fairytale wedding!
I can not even begin to describe how amazing Southern Oaks is. We are from the DC area and wanted to do a destination wedding. We fell in love with Southern Oaks when we went to visit. Everyone was kind, the venue was beautiful and so many things were included so we decided this was our place. Wedding day comes and it was the most perfect day I could have ever asked for. Far exceeding our expectations. The food was AMAZING, the staff was attentive and kind. Some staff even joined us on the dance floor as they would clean a table and we just loved it. They handled everything from set up to clean up. We went with the horse and carriage and jazz band and these additions just took our wedding to another level! Fairytale wedding with a New Orleans flare. Multiple guests commented on the delicious food and said it was one of the best weddings they had ever been too and a lot of that is bc this venue was so amazing! They really brought our vision to light! I HIGHLY recommend!

Our Souther Oaks Wedding on 10/16/21
Southern Oaks is a 5 star operation. From booking, to planning, to the big day, and follow up after, the team at Southern Oaks was outstanding. Owner Bobby personally called me after we got home to say thank you and talk more about our wedding. His #2 Lauren is wedding coordinator extraordinaire, she also is the commander on the big day! She drove her team to execute each component flawlessly throughout our reception and ceremony. They make things perfect and stay out of your way so you can enjoy the night. Having a personal attendant assigned to me was amazing because I never noticed them but my drink was also never empty and I didn’t even have to ask! For the first time in my life, I attended a wedding and didn’t visit the bar once!!! The lighting installed outside at the venue was magical at night. The food was delicious, abundant, and received many compliments from our guests. For enhancements we added: silver cloud limo, second line band, fireworks, drago’s oyster truck, and Mardi Gras parade. I’d recommend all of them because they added a lot to the experience for us and for our guests. Tbh the fireworks were the element that truly made it over the top!!! (which is what we were going for)
New Orleans: we decided to do a destination wedding because we live out west in Montana and our family is from all over (especially the Midwest). My wife and I have always loved NOLA, and we have been there many times. Once we selected NOLA, Southern Oaks came up to the top of our list for venues. We traveled down to tour the venue and for comparison we found two other venues to tour as well: The Jax & Elms Mansion. We saw those first and they were both phenomenal, but they just weren’t what we wanted. When we met with Lauren and drank champagne as we toured the property envisioning our big night there, we knew it was an easy decision. When our date was available we didn’t hesitate to book Southern Oaks and you should book them too!
Most of our guests and family’s hadn’t been to NOLA before. We have heard rave reviews about the event at Southern Oaks but also the long weekend in the big easy. To say people had fun, was the understatement of the year. Many of my cousins took my mom to the side at the wedding and said “I’m just glad that I’m already married, so I don’t have to try to follow this!!!”
They loved the food, culture, music, and vibes. October weather in NOLA is fab too! Pat O'Brien’s definitely got some extra business from our Irish crew on our wedding weekend!
Thank you so much to Bobby, Lauren, and the entire Southern Oaks Teams. We wish you nothing but success, and we know you’ll have it because you are so good at what you do. You will always hold a place in our hearts for being part of our wedding celebration!

The best wedding decision we made!
Choosing Southern Oaks as our venue is the BEST wedding decision we made. We live out of state, so we were worried about the difficulty of planning a wedding long distance. Southern Oaks sent all of our worries out the window the second we toured. Lauren and Stacey anticipated our every need, and made planning an absolute breeze! Every time we would call and figure out something on the planning end, they would notate it in our file so I was positive it would be implemented on the big day. Our one on one rehearsal with Lauren was great, and we appreciated being able to walk through every detail of our event again. Working with them gave us so much peace of mind. They were able to incorporate our personal touches into their well oiled machine. Southern Oaks truly has thought of everything. They are the best of the best, and their pricing is very competitive. When we interviewed other vendors for our wedding, they all raved about how they love working with Southern Oaks because they have weddings down to a science. These vendors were absolutely right!
Our wedding was logistically flawless. It rained ALL DAY, including 30 minutes before our ceremony was set to begin. We were welcomed off the bus by umbrellas and champagne. We were still able to have our ceremony outside on the front lawn right on time. I am amazed at the level of organization and coordination that they have perfected. On our wedding day we were very well taken care of by Nick, Kimona, and Maxwell. Mr. Bobby even had some surprises up his sleeve that made our night that much more magical. We added on the photo booth, brass band, and snoball stand. All 3 of these additions were an absolute hit. DJ was amazing and kept our guests dancing the entire night. The drinks were flowing, and the food was AMAZING!!! Locals and out of town guests alike were blown away by the food! Magical Experience!
Where to begin.... Southern Oaks is by far the best vendor experience I have ever had. They truly aspire to make this experience as easy and magical as possible. I booked Southern Oaks in January 2020. I was pretty nervous throughout the whole year as our wedding date, March 2021, was getting closer and closer due to COVID. Southern Oaks was very prompt to answer my emails and was always on call away for any questions. They did such a fantastic job guiding me through the planning process and helping ease some of my stress.
Our wedding day was an event out of a fairytale movie! We met Mr. Bobby, the owner, and quickly connected over our Disney obsession. I never knew that most of their visions come from Disney. This is why they strive to have a top notch crew and it was incredible to see how smoothly and stress-free the ceremony and reception was. They were constantly checking in with us along with our parents. I've never seen a service quite like this. I am still blown away!!
Our guests are still ranting and raving about the whole experience! They loved the second line, fireworks, Mardi Gras parade, and the FOOD! The food was the biggest hit! Every single item was delicious.

Priceless memories!
As a Mother's point of view! We all want our daughter's to have the wedding of their dreams. LOOK NO FARTHER!!! From start to finish Southern Oaks was amazing. Bobby Asaro and his staff are the absolute best in the business. What makes them a step above all others is their passion for what they do it is not just a job it is Bobby's calling. From the day we walked in to book we knew we made the right choice with our daughter. They left no detail unturned. They were our wedding planners, they recommend an amazing list of vendors we might need. We chose all of our vendors based on their recommendations including bakery. Limos. Photographer , flowers, makeup artist, invitations etc. and were super pleased with all! The venue itself is so classy , elegant, and just plain amazing. Southern Oaks is a one stop venue for all of your wedding needs. Our daughter chose to be married in church and have her reception at Southern Oaks. Bobby was there to greet us as we arrived! Not many owners care that much! The surprise grand entrance with fireworks, fairytale music, lights and streamers Bobby planned for our daughter was priceless and just took our breath away. The smile on our daughters face is one we will never forget thanks to Bobby. Her smile stayed the entire night! It was the most flawless wedding any bride and parents could ever hope for She told us she always dreamed of her dream wedding BUT never dreamed it would be as special as it was. DETAIL is what they do food, drinks, attendants for parents ,bride and groom, Thank God for wonderful Emma to bussel my daughters huge dress, music, lights, decor!! JUST all amazing.We all really wish we could do it all over again! AND we would not change a thing. It is truly sad that I can only give Bobby and Southern Oaks five stars in this review. The best night of our lives!
I don’t even know where to begin with this – it’s hard to put into words just how perfect and magical Southern Oaks and the staff truly are, but this is the best word I can think of to describe this place…Magic. We had a year to plan this destination wedding, and Mr. Bobby, Lauren, and the rest of the staff made it the easiest process throughout the entire year..alleviating all the worries and stress that brides experience while planning a wedding. No matter how many questions I asked, how many emails I sent (and how annoying I’m sure my mother and I both were), Lauren always responded so quickly, with such a great attitude, and answered every question in such detail. I could go on and on about how amazing they were leading up to the big day, but what brings me to actual tears is how they treated us the day of. First off, if you just visit Southern Oaks, you’ll see that the plantation sells itself. It’s truly something that you only see in movies and magazines..the Spanish moss on the trees, the perfectly manicured front lawn, all the way to the beautiful pool, lights, and horse stables in the backyard. The details inside are equally astounding..the music, chandeliers, décor, the different rooms spread out across the plantation, even the women’s restroom was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s a picture perfect dream come true. The service that you get with the team is the other part that is almost impossible to put into words. I've heard horror stories of things going wrong the day of the wedding, or the bride experiencing mishaps at their venues. I can honestly say that every moment of our day was better than I could have ever imagined in my wildest dreams,& absolutely nothing went even slightly wrong. Not once. They are the most well-oiled machine you will ever see..everything is so perfectly orchestrated, and there was never a single hiccup during our entire experience. On top of that, they exceeded every expectation I could have ever had for my wedding day. Mr. Bobby pulled out all the extra stops, from surprising me with my grand entrance in their Rolls Royce to a magnificent fireworks show that ended the ceremony. They made me feel like a real life princess from start to finish. Even the service we received throughout the entire reception never ceased to amaze us. Nick was our attendant that evening and I don’t think a single ice cube could melt in my drink before he was right beside me offering a new one (Nick, you were fantastic)! They make you feel like royalty from the second you step foot on their property, and I was so blown away by all of it. Our family and friends haven’t stopped RAVING about the venue, food, service, atmosphere and everything in between. We have heard over and over again from guests how it was the best wedding they have ever been to, and I have zero doubts that they are telling the truth. I was an anxious bride that had always just hoped to survive the day of my wedding in one piece, but I can honestly say that I would do it over and over again if I could just because Southern Oaks made it an actual dream come true that I never wanted to end. I hope every bride can feel the perfection and magic that I did on my wedding day, and I’m 1000% sure that they would if they choose to get married here. We will never stop talking about this day for the rest of our lives. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank Southern Oaks for making this the absolute best day of my life!

Most magical wedding. All my dreams and more came true!
Oh my goodness. Where do I begin. I could not thank Southern Oaks Plantation enough for the magical wedding we had this December. Mr. Bobby, you are an amazing human being. He was there himself and talked to me and assured me how great everything was going to be and asked me what exactly I had in mind and his opinions and let me tell you, our minds were blown myself included. When we booked with Southern Oaks Plantation we knew this was a great venue but we had no idea how GREAT it was going to be. I have had multiple people including kids tell me how this was the best wedding they had been to. The staff is AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I had champagne all night, they made sure we ate, made sure our families were doing okay, I mean you name it, they made sure it happened. now about the food.... THE BEST FOOD I HAVE HAD! wow just wow. the food kept coming from the moment everyone went in and it did not stop. I have had almost every single guest at the wedding comment on how great the food was. It was AMAZING. We took a little bit longer eating our dinner because we wanted more and more.. Honestly, the best decision we made was to book with Southern Oaks Plantation. We live in Houston so this was a destination wedding for us and I was very nervous as I did not get to go to LA and did not feel like I was as prepared as I should be? But oh my oh my, How AMAZING everyone at Southern Oaks Plantation made it to be. It was truly a magical wedding, a wedding to remember. We had guests come in from New Jersey and California many of which had never visited LA before and they were so amazed and loved every single thing about this venue. My husband and I truly recommend this place to anyone who is looking and is not sure. Trust me, you will not regret it. Holy smokes! Where do I begin??? This place, the employees, the atmosphere! It is the most perfect place to have your wedding! The first time I walked though that door I was absolutely taken away! I was introduced to an amazing lady named Lauren. She was the sweetest person I had dealt with while going crazy trying to find a place to hold my wedding. She answered any questions I had and was so patient. I was later introduced to Mr. Bobby. Well he has that perfect southern charm and made us feel like he has been knowing us for years. We had our baby and he heard from Lauren that I am a huge Disney fan. Well hello, I use to work at Disney! Lol anyways, he gave our little girl a stuffed Minnie Mouse. It’s the little things that catches people’s attention. She still has it and carries it around all the time. The whole place made you feel like you were home! The absolute best! I will take you to the week of our weeding. I was a stressed bride to say the least. The day we went to drop some stuff off at the plantation, Lauren worked her magic and made everything so calm. I remember her always telling me “let us do the worrying, let us do the work!” And that they did. Now, night of my wedding they met us before the doors of the limo stopped. They are so orchestrated and has everything down to a science you, the bride, don’t have time to worry about this or that, they are already 10 steps ahead. Me. Bobby told my Matron of Honor “I have a little surprise for her!” Well holy smokes let me tell you! This man went above and beyond! Mickey and Minnie showed up at my wedding and to top it off I really got to have FIREWORKS at my wedding!!! The food was amazing! They have so much, so don’t worry about leaving hungry! Everyone that came to our wedding all agreed this was the best wedding they have ever been to. They are all still talking about it wanting to do it over so they can relive it. This is truest a magical place where DREAMS COME TRUE!

October 2019 Wedding
My daughter was married here on October 26, 2019. First, I will start with the incredible professionalism of the entire staff from Mr. Bobby on down. He leads by example. The day before her wedding, sub-tropical Olga reared her ugly head and wreaked havoc on New Orleans. The MSY airport was even closed on Saturday due to energy outages. Southern Oaks was not spared her wrath. By the morning, the damage to trees and vegetation in the area was widespread. Mr. Bobby quickly assembled all hands and cleared all the damage from the grounds. By the time we arrived for the one o'clock wedding there was absolutely no evidence that a storm had even occurred. After seeking out Mr. Bobby upon my arrival, to whom I had spoken to numerous times but never met, he apologized profusely for not being in a tuxedo due to the last minute clean up. He earnestly cares for every couple and wants there day to be perfect and will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. My daughter's wedding followed her older sister's wedding seven weeks earlier, it was an expensive year, lol. The comparison between the two was remarkable. At my older daughter's wedding in New Jersey, where we are from, I was constantly badgered by the staff for every single detail during the reception, do you want us to do this, is this okay, should we put the food out now. At Southern Oaks, I had as much interaction with the staff, but it was more like, would you like another drink? Can I get you anything else? Thank you Jeremy, you helped make the day perfect.
Secondly, the food. You will not go home hungry, the variety was amazing: praline chicken, gumbo, jambalaya, sliders with fries, just to mention a few and all cooked to perfection. They start serving food as soon as you walk in the door and don't stop until you leave. I highly recommend adding the Drago's grilled oysters enhancement, they were fantastic. Dragos grill the oysters outside by the pool and it gets people moving about.
Thirdly, the price. Southern Oaks was an all inclusive venue. The value for the money is unrivaled. There are no hidden or last minute fees.
Southern Oaks is a well-oiled machine. This was a destination wedding for us so all of the planning was done over the internet and phone. All of the vendors we dealt with kept telling us how much we were going to love Southern Oaks and they were not wrong.

Absolutely magical venue!!
I absolutely recommend Southern Oaks!! The staff is AMAZING! Their focus was on my husband and I all night. The owner even went out of his way to add a few special touches to the night! They were so helpful throughout the entire process and made me feel like I could put all my trust in them. Also, ALL of our guests raved about how good the food was!

Maisha and Rasheed's Wedding- 9/29/19
Where do I begin?!?!? Rasheed and I knew we wanted our wedding to be a destination experience....and couldn't think of a more appropriate city than "NOLA....BAAABBBYYY!" because of it's deep rooted culture, electric energy, sexy vibe, hospitable residents and the delicious cuisine. So thus begin our quest for a wedding venue. We initially set our sights on another venue in NOLA, but upon my further research, I came across Southern Oaks Plantation.....and the rest is history! From the first time I called the venue, to the day our car service pulled off of the property after our wedding/reception, it was nothing short of pure excellence on behalf of Stacey (my doll), Lauren and all the other members of Southern Oaks.
We fell in love and booked our date just by the pictures, videos and conversations we had with Stacey. Once we had the opportunity to travel down to NOLA and actually visit the venue and meet Stacey in person, it was no doubt we made the right decision! The venue is AMAZING! They give care to EVERY detail! They understand how important of a day this is for the couples they service and they deliver, in a major way!!! A spirit of excellence is by far their credo!!! My family and friends were BLOWN AWAY by the beauty of the venue, the food, the hospitality and care in the service rendered, the horse and carriage (Magic and Majestic) .....and the (suprise) FIREWORKS presentation, as was Rasheed and I!
Stacey was so understanding, compassionate and efficient! She helped to put many of my concerns to rest as we had a few hiccups along the way (on our end) . Honestly, Rasheed and I cannot begin to verbalize in words just how FANTASTIC AND MAGICAL our wedding day was, simply because we chose SOUTHERN OAKS PLANTATION!!! It was definitely a Godsend finding this venue!
I wish I could do it all over again!!!

Sevan and Yvonne Wedding February 22, 2019
I don’t even know where to begin. I initially found Stacey Asaro and Project Proposal back in 2016(if you haven’t proposed yet and need the most amazing, above the top experience please check her out http://projectproposalnola.com/). After the most amazing experience with the proposal I knew I had to take advantage of her and her families venue and wedding service. Mind you, we live in Tucson, Arizona and between here and New Orleans, LA there is not anything as perfect as Southern Oaks Plantation. We had family travel from all over the United States to attend our wedding and everyone has said that this was the most beautiful, classy, elegant wedding that they have ever attended. I had to do something unforgettable; my wife and I got engaged at 8 years and the married finally at 11 years. I will never forget the Southern Hospitality that Stacey and her Family showed my loved ones and I. If you are anywhere in the world, please come and experience the greatest family and wedding venue that you can find!

Elegance in the Big Easy
We got married at Southern Oaks Plantation on March 23, 2019. I’ve always dreamed of getting married at this venue. Our wedding day, was the best day of our lives! We couldn’t have selected a more perfect wedding venue. The food was absolutely delicious , the venue was remarkably beautiful, and the entire staff is highly organized and exceptionally friendly!

Beautiful December Wedding at the prefect venue
Southern Oaks was the perfect venue for my December wedding! Everything was absolutely perfection! Mr. Bobby, Mrs. Sue, Stacey and the staff were all amazing. From the food, drinks, ambiance, decor, fireworks, photo booth, etc. Everything was taken care of. Every one of my guest had an amazing time. We were just so happy with it all! Highly recommend!

Stacey made our dreams come true, she is a queen at what she does and she made our dream wedding possible. We flew in from Toronto, had about 100 people fly in as well. the food was PERFECT! Venue was PERFECT, everything was PERFECT!!! If you are in NOLA and not doing your wedding at SOP, you're doing it wrong.

Very impressive. My wife and I got married here on April 27, 2019. The folks at Southern Oaks Plantation (SOP) have wedding planning and execution down to a science. From the very beginning of our contact with them, they were professional and responsible. They assigned Lauren Burgess as the primary point of contact for our wedding and she remained attentive and friendly throughout. She seemed genuinely excited to be planning our wedding and was very easy to work with. SOP handles the majority of details for the ceremony and reception so it makes things easy on the bride and groom during the planning process. On the day of, they had individual people assigned to different roles taking care of specific people and things, and had a standardized process for preparing the bridal party for the ceremony, which was executed flawlessly. There are only two things I would do differently. During the ceremony itself I would have liked more guidance on where exactly to stand as bridge and groom...we ended up standing too far apart much of it! Secondly, we had planned a second-line during the reception and weren't advised until the week before that SOP usually doesn't do the second-lines outside. We ended up doing it outside anyway but only had two saxophones and neither of the originally requested drums, resulting in a weaker than desired sound. This was mostly just a miscommunication between SOP, the band, and us. Not a big deal; just make sure you get everyone on the same page for this early on. Everything else was honestly perfect, and I do not use that word lightly. The grounds were gorgeous, the staff courteous and attentive, the plan well thought out and executed, the reception fun, the bar easy, the food absolutely fantastic, and on and on. It was especially nice that during the reception, from start to finish, the SOP staff was constantly checking on us (bride and groom) to ensure we had everything we needed from drinks to change of clothes to even a new pair of socks! They were always respectful of our time, space, and privacy but never far when we needed them. One of the capstones for us was that the owner threw in a surprise fireworks and streamers show at the end of our ceremony! We had no idea it was coming! Many guests said our wedding was a "fairytale wedding," and they raved about the setting and food in particular. As many of them are high-performing professionals, this commentary is not frivolous or given without being earned. My wife and I would highly recommend you considering SOP for your wedding. We would choose them again in a heartbeat!

Where do I begin? The moment I stepped foot in Southern Oaks Plantation, I knew it was the perfect location for my husband and I to say I DO! The owner, Mr Bobby, was there on the first day we visited and you can tell he is passionate about his operation. Every detail is executed with care and precision. They were patient along the way and answered my emails promptly and professionally. They allowed me to incorporate personal details like chair sashes and a cigar bar, so I felt like my wedding had my own personal touches. I can’t say enough about the staff and service you will receive when choosing Southern Oaks Plantation. Don’t think twice about it!!!!

Best wedding venue ever!
Thank you Southern Oaks Plantation for the best day ever. I don't think anything could have honestly gone better. We will forever cherish all the memories we made at Southern Oaks. Every guest we've spoken to since the big day has told us it was "the best wedding ever"! It actually was the best wedding ever! The food was outstanding and so were the drinks! We really appreciate how Stacey and Bobby went above and beyond for us to make sure we had the best day. It was literally like a dream everything was so perfect. Emma, Jeremy, and Vince were absolutely outstanding.... I mean, talk about a dream team! They made sure my fiancé and I were always taken care of, and they were all so sweet and accommodating. Honestly though, it was a complete dream. We are so happy and grateful for everything!

Southern Oaks will make your wedding a dream come true and then some. Brides need not have a care in the world as Souther Oaks staff help to plan for and take care of every detail leading up to and on the wedding day. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, from the getting married under a beautiful oak tree to the second line band to the fireworks; not to mention the food. New Orleans is known for their food, but some of them most delicious and memorable food we had visiting NOLA was served at our reception. Nearly 2 years later and our guests are still talking about it.

Beyond Our Wildest Dreams
My husband and I were engaged at the end of January 2018 and as we started the planning process we knew two things. We wanted to be married by the end of 2018 (yes, less than a year of planning) and we wanted it to be a destination wedding. As we narrowed down the locations, we settled on New Orleans for a November 2018 wedding. There were many venues to choose from, but there was something about Southern Oaks that kept drawing us back to their website. Once we scheduled a call with the Southern Oaks Team and had a friend who lived locally visit the venue, we knew we had found our venue.
We both have high tempo jobs and did not want the extra stress of coordinating with multiple vendors, which is why Southern Oaks worked perfectly because they are a one stop shop. We booked the photographers, florist and bakery, while Southern Oaks handled the rest.
Our wedding was November 15th and to say that our expectations were exceeded is an understatement. The staff handled every aspect of the wedding flawlessly. We were amazed at how well things came together being that we put in minimal effort on what’s supposed to be the best day of our lives.
Our family and friends couldn’t believe how stress free we were about the entire process and were blown away by the grandness of the ceremony and reception. Honestly, we were even blown away by how magical their grounds and facilities were for our evening wedding. Everything came together perfectly; their service is top notch and we could do another review just on how great the food was alone. We had friends and family telling us that this was hands down the best wedding they’d ever been to and not being boastful because it was ours, but it was the best we’d been to as well.
All in all, if you are looking for a wedding venue with “Southern Charm” to really engulf your guests in all the traditions of New Orleans we assure you this venue is it. They made our planning process so much easier than I could have imagined and were very responsive when we called or emailed any questions. The owners truly take pride in not only delivering quality service, but ensuring you and your guests have memories that will last a lifetime. They are attentive, passionate and accommodating to any need or desire you have. Give them a call we promise you won’t regret it.

Fairytales do come true
If you are looking for the perfect venue that provides Exceptional service, Great Food and a Magical evening Southern Oaks is the place. My husband and I wanted to get married in New Orleans and was interested in an all inclusive venue. Well we signed the contract and it was the best decision ever. From the first phone call up to the last dance, Mr. Bobby and his gracious staff handled my guest and the entire wedding party like royalty. Every question I had regarding my wedding was answered, this venue provides everything and they do not try to upsell you on items. There are no hidden fees, upcharges or surprises. Well, the surprises are what your guest will experience. My wedding was Magical, Grand and Royal. Everything was smooth and effortless, the staff operates this place like a well oiled machine. There is no running around, no one is confused and you, the wedding party and family members are assigned a concierge that ensures your culinary/drink needs are met. The Food: It is not your typical wedding plate of chicken, fish or buffet. This place provides a Taste of New Orleans, I mean your guest will not stop talking about what they ate, how good the food was and how much food was being passed. Amazing flavors and a huge variety. There is no waiting, once the reception starts the food is being passed, this style was great because it also eliminated the hassle of seating charts, open seating was also another reason I loved this place. Enhancements: I chose to have a New Orleans Style Brass Band, Horse and Carriage, Carving Station and Fireworks, which made it a very grand time, my guest were over stimulated with surprises. During the time of our wedding, my husband and I was experiencing a difficult time and Mr. Bobby had a surprise for us, he upgraded our fireworks package to River Fireworks, it was like the 4th of July in September. The sky was lit up over the River.. all for us. The Venue: This place is gorgeous on the inside and outside. The outside has huge moss filled oak trees with a beautiful historic fountain as you enter, it's really picturesque and well kept grounds. Behind the Mansion there is plenty parking for your guests and a stable and swimming pool where the beautiful white horse are kept. Your guest can sit outside and enjoy the cafe tables where the music from inside is piping outside for their enjoyment. Inside every room is gorgeous, the place has a timeless feel with a real richness that provides grandeur. Jeremy, Lauren and Mariah customer service just impeccable, I can also tell that this is a great place to work. They all really work in sync and the professionalism, I just cannot state it enough. I will always remember my wedding day and cherish the wonderful memories because of the staff here, the owner and the venue. My guests are still calling and saying how this was by far the best wedding they have ever attended. Most of my guest have become wedding snobs because of their experience here. Your wedding at this place really raises the bar. Thank you Southern Oaks and Staff for a Memorable Day...

Wow, it feels so surreal that I just got married this past Saturday June 23rd at Southern Oaks. I’m still in shock on how great everything was from start to finish. How all my details came together and how the amazing staff were at Southern Oaks was. Lauren is an angel that I can’t thank enough for having so much patience with me and all my questions and requests. I trusted her with all my details and the staff at Southern Oaks made my beautiful day come true, my guest can’t stop talking about it from the food,music, atmosphere and how sweet all the staff was to them. I want to say Thank You to Mr.Bobby for a beautiful venue and for gracing me to the isle in my 1954 entrance it was an exquisite entrance!!!

My husband and I were married at Southern Oaks on 3.30.18. To say it was the most amazing day of our lives would be quite the understatement. The team at Southern Oaks was nothing short of incredible from the day we started planning through seeing us off on our wedding night. Every detail was perfectly executed, the staff was extremely attentive, the food was amazing (we even had guests say it was the best food they had in New Orleans), to the point where everything went perfectly. I'm not sure how many brides can say there was nothing that went wrong on their wedding day but I am very fortunate to say that I can thanks to Bobby and all of the wonderful people at Southern Oaks. They made sure our day was flawless and one that we will never forget. Our guests are STILL raving about it! It is truly impossible to capture the magic and perfection of Southern Oaks Plantation in words (and without crying), but we will try. We stumbled upon SOP online before we were even engaged and immediately fell in love with the stunning venue. After getting engaged, we literally did not research any other venues and didn’t even visit SOP in person before booking our date. We just knew! And it was the absolute best decision we have ever made. Southern Oaks is truly everything you read about and so so much more that can’t be captured in writing. The staff, including the always smiling Mr. Bobby, Lauren, Stacey, Jeremy, and so many others were the most attentive, conscientious, and kind people from the beginning of the planning process. They have all the details covered and truly make planning your wedding FUN and as stress-free as possible, especially for out-of-town couples like we were! We were treated like absolute royalty on our wedding day and did not have to worry about anything. Our parents were also treated SO well and were so impressed by their sweet personal attendants. If we had to recommend something, we’d highly recommend getting the extra hour to allow ample time for taking photos and getting lots of time to spend with your guests. Trust us, you’ll never want the night to end!
The most common compliment we get on our wedding day was that it was an absolute fairytale. From the horse and carriage, incredibly talented jazz band, the stunning grounds, insane food, perfect decor, and all the other bells and whistles (seriously, we could go on and on!), SOP was above and beyond our wildest dreams. We feel such a deep sense of gratitude to the SOP family for giving us the best night of our lives.

Southern Oaks Plantation (SOP), the "crem dela crem" of wedding venues in New Orleans, was the site for our daughter's destination wedding on 10/22/17.
Merci Beaucoup to the Asaro's (owners), Lauren (coordinator) and the entire SOP staff! You all are amazing! From the moment we arrived we were greeted enthusiastically and received exemplary service throughout the evening. The grounds and buildings were gorgeous! The staff was phenomenal! The food was beyond delicious, it was scrumptious and abundant! Everything was right on time and right on point! Words can't describe the mystical magic we felt once the wedding ceremony started. Everyone was amazed when the horse drawn carriage pulled up with my husband and daughter. As the twinkle of all the lights that filled the surroundings were ignited, it took our breath away! It was enchanting and exciting, like a fairytale being created right before our eyes! The ceremony was lovely, inspiring and serene. It was followed by exhilarating fireworks! Gold streamers fell from the sky above the couple as the carriage approached the building's entry. The jazz band lead us into the reception with a Second Line and fueled the celebration! Truly NOLA at it's best! Food and drinks steadily flowed. Guests relaxed and chatted at poolside and took snapshots in the photo booth while the DJ made his mark with the couple's mix of music as we danced the night away! To culminate the occasion we had a "Taste of Mardi Gras Parade", with festive floats, costumes, beads, trinkets, jazz band playing Mardi Gras music, newlyweds in horse drawn carriage and more fireworks! Fantastic! Our Southern Oaks experience not only met our expectations, but on all accounts, our expectations were greatly exceeded! Southern Oaks owners and staff are masters of customer service and customer care! Thank you Southern Oaks for making this an Incredible Fairytale Wedding and Dream Come True!

Choose Southern Oaks Plantation!! First of all you can have the wedding and reception at the same place - and they do like 3 weddings a week -- they have it down to a science. And you can borrow the little things like second line umbrellas, a cake knife, a cake stand! They take the stress and planning out of your dream day and you can't beat the price for everything that's included! Not to mention the extras are game-changers!!! People won't look at weddings the same!
The staff is fabulous, the venue is gorgeous, the food is unbelievable, the DJ is great, plenty of room for your guests, no lines at the bar -- I can go on and on! I had high expectations and was blown away by how perfect my day went. I truly felt like a princess!

Oh my word!!! Words literally cannot express how absolutely PERFECT and MAGICAL this place is. Every single person we dealt with throughout our entire planning process was a delight. They made sure my husband and I were taken care of in every step of the wedding without being intrusive. My drink was never less than half full, and they did everything even better than I had planned or dreamed of. They execute every single detail with such perfection that no other venue could ever compete. Their logistics are well coordinated and efficient, the food and drinks are delicious (we are still getting texts and phone calls about it), and it was a blast! As a bride I got to enjoy a private dinner with my husband and I got to dance and have fun; which I heard countless times were bride's biggest complaints about their weddings, but I didn't even have to think about it at Southern Oaks. Once Mr. Bobby found out that we were big Disney fans and had our first date there he pulled out all of the pixie dust he could find!!! Fireworks, streamers, and even an appearance from Mickey and Minnie. If you are looking for a venue - please do not even waste your time going anywhere else. Southern Oaks will blow you away.

If you want a fairy tale wedding with low stress the day of, this is THE place to book. I have had so many people tell me how amazing the venue and the food was and how much fun they had! As a bride, the fact that everything was set at a specific price and I didn't have to deal with the worry of a "per person" price and people RSVPing and not showing up last minute or vice versa was a HUGE stress-saver for me personally, on top of the fact that the price included the DJ and open bar. Additionally, the reception area was so beautiful that add-ons I would have needed at other venues, such as additional flowers, centerpieces, chair covers, tents, etc. that really add up in costs, were not necessary. The staff was so attentive and made sure we had anything and everything we wanted or needed all afternoon. I'd say they knew what I needed before I even did!
I ended up doing the horse and carriage at my dad's request, and while I thought it was too much during the wedding planning stages, it turned out to be an extremely memorable and special moment for my dad and me and I am so glad I decided to do it. If you're on the fence about it - just do it!
Southern Oaks seriously made our special day very low stress and memorable. It was absolutely perfect. They had everything covered and they knew exactly what to do, where to go, and what to say. I'm so happy with the decision to have our wedding here and would highly recommend this place for the fairy tale wedding you've always dreamed of!

I can't say enough about Taylor, Bobby, Lauren, and the rest of the people at Southern Oaks. Our wedding was two weeks ago and we still have people contacting us to tell us how much fun it was - and how good the food was!
We did an outdoor ceremony with the horse and carriage entrance. I was actually the only one who was hesitant to do the horse and carriage (I liked the car!) but after my family and finance convinced me - we went for it. I have to admit, it was absolutely the perfect decision. We had a close friend marry us and selected all of our ceremony music and then added the Jazz band afterwards too, which was a really fun way to start the ceremony and add a taste of New Orleans for all of our guests! It was better than I could have ever expected.
The food - AMAZING! Definitely take the time as a bride/groom to set aside time to eat. It was also nice to get a moment alone post ceremony. I think my biggest regret wasn't eating more that day! (wedding day excitement ;) ) It's okay though because they sent us home with a box of food that we could enjoy the next night (which still tasted amazing!). They even brought in my favorite beer for me to have and Lauren was there every time we needed a refill of drinks or water - she's amazing! We did add an extra hour to our reception - another great decision if you are able to. For decorations I brought in freeze dried rose petals for the tables and we repurposed the bridesmaids bouquets for some centerpieces, but you really don't need to. The entire venue is beautifully decorated and is absolutely breathtaking at night when everything is lit up.
I am so happy with how everything turned out for our wedding day. The entire team is extremely responsive and accommodating. They made our guests feel welcome and more importantly made for very stress free wedding planning! Thank you so much for everything!

We just had our wedding reception here on Friday, May 27th 2016. I cannot even begin to express how magical it was. The staff goes way above and beyond to make your day extra special. You are being waited on hand and foot, no one leaves hungry, and the food is simply amazing. They are such wonderful, highly organized professionals and we were always told where and what the next steps were throughout the whole night. I HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone. 5 stars isn't even enough credit to give to this venue. I am still in awe of how amazing of an experience it was. My guests have all told us that our wedding blew all other weddings that they had attended out of the water... because of how spectacular the venue was!!!

I could write a review as long as War and Peace on the amazing wedding my daughter had at Southern Oaks Plantation. If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue, no matter how close or how far you live - stop looking, this is the place for you.
From the very beginning they made us feel truly welcome. The staff went out of their way to make sure the bride and groom had everything they wanted. Any time I called and asked questions Stacy, Kim and Taylor always had the answers and were very polite and helpful. I would compare their staff to Disney’s employees, always happy and always eager to please!
Their organizational skills are unsurpassed. The ceremony and reception went perfectly and the outdoor venue was beautiful. Mr. Bobby was amazing. He surprised my daughter with fireworks and confetti at the end of the ceremony. “ It was truly a breathtaking and magical experience” were my daughters words. The reception was amazing. The food was passed at our guest’s table constantly and the variety was a true new Orleans culinary experience. Our guest are still raving about the food , the atmosphere and the beautiful venue. All of our guests expressed that this was the best reception that they had ever been to. My daughter and her husband were treated so special that they felt as if they were royalty. My husband and I had Lauren as our own personal attendant. She was incredible and she very rarely left our side.
Words cannot express the gratitude we have for Southern Oaks owner and staff for making our little girl’s wedding day a fairy tale come true.

Mr. Bobby and his staff at Southern Oaks Plantation were just the icing on the wedding cake to how absolutely amazing our entire experience was with SOP! I was told over and over that our wedding was the most beautiful wedding people have ever seen. Our wedding took place on Friday night December 18, 2015 and words can't begin to explain how beautiful everything was. The fact that they took care of almost everything, and for us, that even included the decor was well worth it. The food, the venue, and service was impeccable and we couldn't have asked for more!

Wow!!! Words can't describe my wedding ceremony and reception at Southern Oaks it was exquisite. On my wedding day it actually rained and we didn't know what to expect with the wedding having to be inside. We should have never questioned their ability. It was the most amazing experience of our lives. The food was exeptional and the service was a 12 of out 10. They are right there for you every step of the way and made everything hastle free. We didn't have to worry about a thing. We got all the enhancements the venu offers and they were fabulous. We are so happy we did the whole nine yards because I honestly can't tell you how breathtaking and top notch it all was the moment we arrived on the property. It was elegant and just beautiful. My pictures turned out so good and the memories will last us a life time. Bobby Asaro and Sue have a wonderful business and know what they are doing!! Not to mention how easy they made the planning process. They were so on top of things and reminders and were so good about getting back to you immediately with any questions you might have. The staff is the best. You should without a doubt choose Southern Oaks Plantation if you want a perfect wedding day!

Words truly cannot express how happy and pleased we were with the staff and presentation at Southern Oaks Plantation. You guys were wonderful and relieved me of any and all stress. Everyone was impressed and pleased with the elegance of the venue as well as the continuous delicious food and drinks. Lauren was so sweet and great, she made sure Anthony and I were well taken care of the entire night. Taylor is also great he helped out tremendously with the entire planning of my wedding. Hands down Southern Oaks Plantation is the best wedding venue in Louisiana. From the moment the pastor said you may kiss your bride, Your staff was on time and on point with my guests. When they were seated the food was waiting on them. My guest have bragged about Southern Oaks by word of mouth and through social media saying they had never been to a wedding this wonderfully put together before. I felt like a queen and truly the lady of the night when Lauren took my heels off and put my flats on. Mr. Bobby do you know pastors of churches don’t get treated this well with this type of hospitality, funny right? Surely, I am pleased to say once again I had my wedding at the best venue in Louisiana; Southern Oaks Plantation. I Give Southern Oaks Plantation a Strong 5 star Rating! Thank you all so much. There is a reason so many brides give SOP rave reviews! It is worth every penny we paid. Being that we were from Canada, and had never been to New Orleans, communication was very important to us. The staff at SOP are absolutely flawless in their execution, and whatever you are looking for on your wedding day, they will surely give it to you if its possible. The photos of the venue don't do it justice, as it is truly beautiful. They assist you with your vendors ( if they are on their list), they have a huge bar a selection, unreal food, gorgeous horses and professional staff. Mr. Bob truly believes in magical weddings, and you'll be in excellent hands for your special day.

I could go on forever about how amazing Southern Oaks Plantation was for our wedding his past Friday but I don't think I have enough space here. Our wedding was amazing and the staff and owners at Southern Oaks made sure that it turned out perfect. The venue is beautiful, the food was amazing, the staff were so kind and caring, the attendants for the couple and their family made sure we always were taken care of, Mr. Asaro was just great, and it even defied the weather and didn't rain!! Our ceremony was so beautiful I'm still thinking about it a week later. Southern Oaks makes sure that everything is taken care of and helps you along the way to make sure you have the wedding you have always dreamed of. I know I bombarded them with emails the few weeks before the wedding but they were there to answer all of my questions, and I had a lot! They know how to have a great wedding and since all they do are weddings trust me when I say they are really amazing weddings!! I just can't say enough how beautiful and perfect our wedding night was and my only piece of advice to newly engaged couples who want to get married in New Orleans is come to Southern Oaks Plantation and make sure to have it at night!! You can't beat the lighting at SOP, our wedding was right as the sunset and the lights were beautiful and I felt like I was in a fairy tale.

There are no words to convey how perfect my wedding was at Southern Oaks. Our ceremony took place this past Sunday (April 12, 2015), and even though we couldn’t stick to our original plan due to rain, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Mr. Bobby and his staff made sure they did everything possible to still give my new husband and me the most magical experience ever. They went above and beyond! The inside ceremony space was simply breathtaking. They even surprised us with fireworks since we couldn’t do the horse and carriage! Miss Stacey was the perfect hostess and made sure everything flowed from one event to the other seamlessly. Our friends and family were blown away by every detail. We have received countless compliments on how amazing the food was, how unique the reception was, and how it was all around the best wedding they have ever been to. I can honestly say it was the best day ever, and I am so grateful for Southern Oaks and their staff for making it possible.

If you want your wedding to be perfect, book it at Southern Oaks. The venue is gorgeous. It is the most elegant and classy looking place you could ever hope for. The entire staff is incredible. Their goal is making sure your wedding and reception are perfect. If you have a favorite drink, they make sure your hand is never empty. Kim walked us through our rehearsal and made sure everything was planned out in advance down to the smallest detail. She, Lauren, Bobby, and everyone else at Southern Oaks gave us everything we needed before we even knew we needed it. The staff even threw in a few complementary surprises for us. I told them at the end of the night that I would rate them an 11/10 and they truly deserve it. The food, which was plentiful, is delicious. The dj was great and played all the right songs at all the right moments. The reception area is huge and open, with plenty of seating and a big dance floor. The attention to detail is simply stunning. This place is perfect.

I could not think of any place better to get married then Southern Oaks Plantation. The yard, features, building, stable for the horses, pool and decor were absolutley amazing and beautiful. The staff who assisted us on our wedding day were so professional and curtious and attended to our every desire. The wedding ran smoothly with absolutely no hiccups and the feeling the staff give you while there is that even if there was, they would have it under control. They suprised us with a couple of things which made the day even more special then it already was. Coming from Australia to this venue and only looking at it through a computer beforehand, don't do the venue justice. It is breathtaking. If I could get married any where in the world again it would be at Southern Oaks Plantation.

I would especially recommend this venue if you're an out-of-town bride. They provide the DJ, caterer, table/linen rentals, and day-of coordinators. Everyone I worked with was extraordinarily professional and easy to work with. Everything I wanted, they made happen. All of my guests told me that this was the best wedding they'd ever attended and they'd never had better food.
You will NOT regret choosing this venue for your wedding.

I have no words to express how amazing my reception was I couldn't of asked for anything better they made it my dream come true from the entrance till the time it was over the food was amazing the service, music and our personal attendants all of our guest have said it was the best wedding they have ever been to I wish I could give more then 5 stars because it was that amazing thanks so much to Bobby Asaro and his staff! WOW!!!!! It's so hard to even begin to describe how AMAZING you all are! Seriously, how do you guys do it?! George and I are beyond ecstatic with how our big day turned out. We can't stop talking about how magical it was (neither can our guests)! I mean it was absolute perfection!! Bobby worked his magic and the rain stopped :-), Stacey, Lauren and Kim seen to it that George and I had everything we needed, when we needed it, the food was IMPECCABLE, the service was EXTRAORDINAIRE...the entire team (doorman, wait staff etc.) from beginning to end was absolutely wonderful! Top notch all the way! When I wanted to make a few changes the day of, my requests were accommodated without second thought (I'm trying to explain to George the many reasons why we should have a renewal ceremony at Southern Oaks every other year...he hasn't quite hopped on board yet but I'm working on it ;-)!

I cannot put into words how perfect every last inch of our wedding was thanks to Southern Oaks, their staff, and the Asaro family. Above and beyond!! My husband and I are still on cloud nine! They think of everything and make it all seamless. As a bride you don't have to stress at all because they take care of every detail! The food is fabulous as the service is impeccable! When I began the search for my wedding venue, I knew I wanted something that would wow my guests. After looking all over Baton Rouge and New Orleans, I thought I had seen it all and I would just have to settle for the average wedding. Little did I know, my final stop would could come nothing close to average.
We pulled up on the perfectly manicured lawn, continued up the porch steps, and rang the bell. The anticipation was killing me, if the exterior of this place was so beautiful, the interior must be exquisite -- I was correct.
Stepping into Southern Oaks Plantation was like stepping into something out of a Bride's dream. The attention to detail was phenomenal -- crystal chandeliers descending through a spiral staircase, a swanky lounge with the comforts of home -- it couldn't be. A smiling face greeted us and I was hooked. This was IT!
Our entire experience with Southern Oaks was incredible from the moment we laid our eyes on the plantation. Everything was flawless, from the easy consultations, to the plantation tours and the gifts, all the way up to the big day. My wedding was perfect in every aspect of the word.
The staff and service exceeded all of my expectations and the attention to detail throughout the entire plantation really is absolutely impeccable. I cannot begin to thank Southern Oaks enough for all of the time and effort they put forward for such a special day in our lives. The owners and staff genuinely care about each and every Bride, and do everything in their power to be sure the day will be just as you have dreamed since you were a little girl. They somehow make it seem as if you are the only Bride that will ever be married at Southern Oaks and YOUR wedding is their only priority. Everything about the day went above and beyond, it was more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for. Being a Louisiana native, I have a certain thing about food, and let me just say, it was delicious. After over a month I am still receiving compliments-STUNNING

Southern Oaks was an absolutely beautiful location for our New Orleans wedding reception!!! There are no words to describe how amazing that night was for us and how perfect the staff were throughout the entire process. The day of the wedding, they made everything run so smoothly that I was able to enjoy the entire night stress-free. I had so much fun without a care in the world because Bobby, our attendants, and the rest of the staff were taking such great care of me and my guest. We have received nothing but compliments - from the fireworks, to the Disney entrance, to the food, and so much more. Bobby and his staff really went above and beyond to make that night extra special.
When we arrived, we were put into a horse drawn carriage and made a grand Disney-like entrance that included fireworks. From the moment we stepped into the carriage to the moment we were put into the limo to leave, every part of the night was unforgettable. The DJ played the music we suggested and a few of his own choices, which kept the guests dancing all night. The chefs/servers prepared us a delicious and romantic dinner for two. Our attendants notified, directed, and escorted us to all the major events throughout the entire night (i.e. first dances, dinner, cake cutting, bouquet/guarder toss, etc.). They also never let our or our parent's drinks go empty. When it was time for the magical night to end, all of our presents were packed into a designated car, and a to-go box filled with cake, food, and champagne, along with our personal belongings, were packed into our limo ready for us to leave.
It was the perfect night, and wouldn't have been so without Bobby and the rest of the Southern Oaks staff. My husband and I, along with our family, highly recommend Southern Oaks to anyone looking for a stress-free magical wedding and/or reception.

I cannot praise Mr. Asaro and his entire staff for making my daughter's wedding an event to remember always. Not only does Mr. Asaro and the Southern Oaks team respond to any request , but are usually
one step ahead of you. They treated every single person at the party like they were family.
I have nothing but great memories of my daughter's wedding. Without having to worry about a single
detail, I was able to mingle, laugh and enjoy my company, my friends and family.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Southern Oaks in the summer of June 14, 2013, and words cannot fully express how AMAZING, WHIMSICAL & MAGICAL our wedding experience was. I am from New Orleans, but my husband is from the Caribbean Island of Trinidad & Tobago, and many of our guests were first-time visitors to the city. Southern Oaks orchestrated a true NOLA experience for them, and helped affirm why we chose to have our wedding in the Big Easy!! We've received such an outpouring of love, support and positive feedback from friends and family that we don't know what to do with ourselves! The venue was absolutely beautiful, the food was abundant and so delicious, the music kept the party going including the brass band and the staff was pleasant and attentive. It took everyone’s breath away. Not to mention Stacey (our primary wedding coordinator) made the planning process a BREEZE. Both Stacey, Mr. Bobby, and the staff made our wedding day so easy & amazing. Everything was so organized to the point where all we had to do was show up. It also helped that Southern Oaks was a one-stop shop for our food, beverages, music, horse and carriage, brass band and decorations. It's a warm, down-home family-owned and operated business and we truly felt part of the family. The wedding experience was the perfect start to our marriage, and was a blessing for us and many others in attendance. Because of Southern Oaks, many of our family and friends that got Visa’s just to come to the US, will be returning to the BIG EASY! I truly had a fairytale wedding with the white horse and carriage, the fireworks, and brass band! It set it off!! Our family and friends were in awe. We undoubtedly recommend Southern Oaks as a venue for anyone considering a New Orleans wedding. We want any and everyone to experience magic that is Southern Oaks! From the staff, to the owners, you are not just another bride to them, you are special and you are treated like royalty on your wedding day ☺

The moment that ring went on my finger I couldn't imagine my wedding any place else other than Southern Oaks Plantation. As a former employee I know the time, effort and love that is put into every event from the wonderful owners Bobby and Sue Asaro and staff, filled with true Southern Hospitality. Having our ceremony and reception at Southern Oaks Plantation was a dream of mine since I was young. I remember seeing pictures displayed at Clearview mall in Metairie and I told myself I would get married there in the future. And so I did! And since my father is in the wedding industry (The Topcats), he knew only the best! Everything was organized since the day we booked them a year ahead. The Asaro family and their team made sure every detail I planned for was included. And the best part was that they are all-inclusive! I just had to get my photographer, cake, videographer, and florist! They took care of the rest! The ceremony was amazing; from the carriage ride with my dad, the twinkling lights that aligned the pathway to marrying my prince, then the carriage ride with my husband, and the beautiful, elaborate fireworks display! And OF COURSE I cannot forget about the food! All of our guests enjoyed the variety of hors d'oeuvres that were offered. Especially the praline chicken! My husband and I got to enjoy a quick 15 min (our choice, could be longer) dinner to eat and collect ourselves, which was very nice! Then we went back out to dance and enjoy being with our family and friends! It was nice having a coordinator with us the whole time to make sure we always had drinks or to et us know when we will be doing the cake cutting, etc. Our guests also really enjoyed the photobooth that was included! We truly had such a wonderful time and will always remember our dream wedding. (BTW, if you are a Disney fan, and appreciate the Disney service, definitely go with Southern Oaks!)

MAGIC Truly Happens Here! We had the PERFECT wedding at Southern Oaks! We were married 10/27/13, and from the start, we knew it was right. We live in New York and aren’t from New Orleans...we just fell in love with the city over the years. But planning a wedding from afar was intimidating...especially with the unexpected things that can happen. But after we met Bobby and Kyle and heard about everything Southern Oaks offers, all fears were put to rest. We visited 14 other venues all over the city...and none held a candle to Southern Oaks. It is an amazing one-stop-shop and provides such a comprehensive planning guide with recommendations for different vendors that even these selections were easy! With the beautiful neutral tones of the decor, it was as if we decorated the entire place ourselves (our colors were coconut and gold). I must have been the least stressed bride ever...I know that a primary reason was how easy Southern Oaks made things and how comfortable they made me feel when I had questions. No question was ever too big or small. Now - the wedding. The week prior was beautiful – no rain in sight. But 10 minutes before our ceremony, it began raining. Bobby was the epitome of calm and reassurance and watched the radar minute by minute...until the rain passed. We delayed our ceremony only briefly, as the staff kept our guests comfortable and dry under the shelter of the mansion’s front porch. When all was clear, the staff dried the seats and reseated our guests. Seamless! If you can, opt for the carriage, jazz band, fireworks (and ribbon confetti!), and photo booth. We had a true fairy tale wedding experience – no exaggeration! Our guests raved that ours was the best "wedding" – and the best "affair" – they’ve ever attended! Top notch, top-shelf everything all the way! Lastly, we must praise the amazing team there. They are undoubtedly the utmost professionals, but they are also just "good people" with a passion for making dreams come true!

It also helped that Southern Oaks was a one-stop shop for our food, drinks, music, photo booth, brass band and decorations (it’s nicely decorated, so we didn’t need to add anything). Stacey was responsive, organized, and maintained a detailed record of our preferences over the course of the 11-month planning process. The entire team was always friendly, ready and willing to help in any way possible. It’s a warm, down-home family-owned and operated business and we truly felt part of the family.
We are still on cloud 9, and I imagine we will be for some time. The wedding experience was the perfect start to our marriage, and was a blessing for us and many others in attendance. We undoubtedly recommend Southern Oaks as a venue for anyone considering a New Orleans wedding. We want any and everyone to experience the wonder, awesomeness and magic that is Southern Oaks! You WILL NOT be disappointed.

WOW!! Just thought I would start with that :) !! Our night was a wonderful whirlwind of elegance, excitement, and surprise! It was POURING since the minute I woke up on our wedding day, and when most venues would have canceled the outdoor ceremony, SOP waited it out until the last minute and wouldn't you know .... It cleared up just in time to give us our dream ceremony on the front steps of the magnificent southern plantation. That meant the world to me that they were willing to do all in their power to keep the original plans! All the guest are still raving about the yummy creole/cajun food, the impeccable service, and the unique southern atmosphere (all but 5 guest were from out of town and we wanted them to feel the NOLA love and culture during our wedding, and that they did)!!!

There are no words to describe how perfect our wedding was at Southern Oaks. From the start, they were so easy to work with and took care of most of the details, which made it very easy to plan since my fiancé and I do not live in Louisiana. The wedding itself was magical! I could not turn around without someone filling my drink or asking if I needed anything and they treated our parents the same way. The plantation is amazing, inside and out, and our pictures are gorgeous! The staff made us feel like royalty the entire day. So many of our guests have said it's the best wedding they have ever been to! S.O. Is pricey but our parents and we feel it was worth every penny! Also, spring for the jazz band; they were pricey, but made all our guests so excited and started the party off with a bang!

We could not be happier or more pleased with the service, food, atmosphere... just everything about Southern Oaks and our wedding day. The host staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and polished. We never had less than half a drink without it being refreshed. The spread of food and private dining area for the bridal party is unmatched by any other NOLA wedding venue.
In addition to my own wedding, I've been in the bridal party for 5 other weddings in the past few years. Some of the most popular venues in the city don't come close to Southern Oaks in terms of menu and service. Living in NOLA means your guests will typically remember your wedding based on their judgement of 3 key things: the food, the alcohol, and the service. To this day (7+ months later), our family and friends are still raving about the food and the service!
The Southern Oaks staff makes it incredibly easy and fun to be a bride and enjoy your day. From the very start of the planning process, the experience was smooth and effortless. One of my favorite things about Southern Oaks is the way they price packages. Rather than having to stress and add up numbers for the venue rental, catering, alcohol, table linens, etc (as other venues force you to), the price is all inclusive and structured based on your number of guests.
Southern Oaks has thought of everything!

From the parents of the bride:
As a child, Holly, like most little girls, dreamed of the fairy tale wedding. Rarely, however, are the expectations of that dream-day met. Those unfortunate brides must not have had their wedding take place at Southern Oaks Plantation.
To Bobby, Sue and family: a simple (or even an enthusiastic) “Thank You” seems inadequate. From the day we booked, you promised you would take care of everything – that you would make it special. That promise was kept and then some. Every expectation we had was exceeded. The grounds and house were exquisite. You all were so considerate, prepared and efficient to the extent that you appeared to have the ability to anticipate every request, or prevent anything that could have potentially caused a hiccup, that evening.
From the bride approaching in the carriage to the spectacular fireworks and confetti after the ceremony, the evening was magical on a Disney scale (and believe me, it did not go unnoticed that, after a full week of rain prior to January 11, 2013, the rain mysteriously stopped 5 minutes before you opened the gates!). Once inside for the reception your staff tended to the all the guests, as well as the bride, groom and families, as if they were royalty. Always smiling and at the ready, but never under foot.
All of our family from the “trendy” West Coast who attended still talk about the food at “the most incredible wedding they’ve ever attended.” They were amazed that the food was not merely plentiful, but that during the entire three hour reception, there were no “re-runs” - they never saw the same tray twice! Each pass of the servers brought something innovative, memorable and tasty.
We hope our next opportunity to attend a function at Southern Oaks comes soon. We do have one regret, however, and that is that we don’t have more daughters…

I really don't even know where to begin. My husband and I were married at Southern Oaks on 10/5/12 and it truly was the most incredible night of my life. Southern Oaks literally thinks of EVERYTHING--you, your bridal party, your family, and your guests won't have to worry about a thing. My main point of contact was Kyle and he was absolutely fantastic. The entire night flows perfectly; the attendants tell you exactly where to be and when and you will have a full glass and anything you can think of at your fingertips the entire night! The bride and groom, parents of the bride and groom, and bridal party all get their own personal attendants which was really great. 95% of our guests were from out of town, including us, and told us multiple times how beautiful the wedding was, how superb the service was and couldn't stop raving about the food--DELISH (yes, I got to eat at my own wedding because SOP sets up a private candlelit dinner for the bride and groom to eat for a few minutes without any interruptions!) If you can swing it, get the horse and carriage, jazz band, and photo booth-- our guests absolutely loved it! I could seriously go on and on about SOP but I'm going to stop myself. If you want to keep your sanity during the planning process, go with SOP! One stop shop and so amazingly beautiful! They really are a first class establishment and will do just about anything for you to have your perfect fairy tale wedding.

From out first contact with Southern Oaks, to the time we left married, the staff made us feel special, like VIPs and most importantly, we had the wedding of our dreams.
Southern Oaks is an amazing venue and I know they're booked far in advance, I know they have a set routine for their weddings, but they made our special day feel like it was the only wedding they were hosting this year.
Our friends and relatives are still talking about the food, the staff and the amazing venue of our wedding.
I can't say enough about Southern Oaks, Kyle and the rest of the staff there. We loved having our wedding there so much, that I recommended it to my coworker that's getting married and hope that Angela and I get to go there again sometime in the near future for a friends wedding.

My wedding was amazing. The staff was always there when I needed them. My drink never ran dry! The place is beautiful and the food is amazing!

There really aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe how AMAZING our entire experience with Southern Oaks was. From the beginning, I was a timid bride who didn't have the courage or energy to completely dive in with planning and executing the size of wedding we wanted (150-175 guests). Overwhelming is an understatement! BUT…when my sister in law recommended Southern Oaks, my husband and I packed up and met with them ASAP and FELL.IN.LOVE!!! Yes, the venue is unbelievably gorgeous. It's out of this entire world BUT, that wasn't what got us the most. The staff were out of this world friendly and accommodating! If we ever had a question about anything, they had the answer RIGHT when I called. There were never any of the "I'm not sure, let me get back to you"s going on. They always know the answer right then and there and I loved that. I never had to plan a single thing..no clean up, no stress, no pulling my hair out! We showed up the day before the wedding, gave them the extras we needed (candles, guestbook,bridal party details) and they handled it all. Our guests NEVER stopped complimenting us on the venue and they all assured that the wedding would never be topped!! One of our friends has even booked her wedding at SOP now!! My husband and I can't wait to be able to attend a wedding there..to eat, drink, and bask in the awesomeness that is SOP! We already know we want our 10 year anniversary there!! You won't be disappointed!!!!

I can't stress enough how happy I am with our decision to get married at Southern Oaks Plantation. I have received so many complements - countless guests have told me that they have never attended a nicer wedding. The staff at Southern Oaks knows EXACTLY what they are doing. No stone is left unturned. They have every single detail covered for you, no matter how small it may seem.
The food is out of this world, and there's plenty of it. The service is second to none. My husband and I had our own personal attendants the night of the wedding, and they saw to it that we got a chance to have some private time together to eat. They were always available to get us a fresh cocktail or let us know what was coming up next. And it gets better - our parents also had attendants and wanted for nothing!
The place is absolutely beautiful. I feel like I got so much for my money. The plantation gorgeous, and at night when the mansion is lit up it is truly breathtaking.
Often times you hear brides say that no matter how much planning goes into your wedding, something will always go wrong. Well that certainly was not the case at Southern Oaks - absolutely nothing went wrong. I feel that our night was perfect, and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

My wife and I had our wedding reception at Southern Oaks Plantation and I'm not exagerating when I say everything went perfectly. They knew exactly how to time the reception and moved events such as first dance, photos and cake cutting along perfectly. There was a personal attendant for all the parents, my wife and myself and they always made sure our drinks were full in addition to taking care of all other needs. In terms of decore and food everything looked and tasted great. Appetizers and deserts were passed around continuously through the night; there was never a shortage. All in all, Southern Oaks was superbly proffesional and efficient while exuding refinement and class. Without a doubt I would recommend their services to any couple.

AMAZING IN EVERY WAY! MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT I MARRIED THE PERFECT MAN & I CANT GET MARRIED HERE EVERY YEAR!!!!! Staff & food were AMAZING!!!! Made us feel like royalty! The grounds are so beautiful! Also I wish I lived in New Orleans so I would be invited to weddings that weren't mine there. It seems to fly by. I love love love love love this place. They made it so easy to have a destination wedding! This doesn't even begin to say how wonderful they were!!!!!

The staff was wonderful. They did so much to make the day perfect. The food was delicious!! My guests are still talking about how good it was, saying it was the best wedding food they have ever eaten! The grounds were gorgeous. I love this place!!

I don't even know where to begin with Southern Oaks. Every single detail that you will never think about, they've already analyzed it and give you the best experience. There were 4 people devoted just to serving the bride, groom, and their parents around the clock. They follow your every direction, even if it's strange and specific. The food is beyond amazing, and all of my guests made sure to tell me about it! They are a real class act over there, and I will never forget just how perfect my day was. They even box up a piece of each cake and a bunch of different foods for you and put it in the limo so that you have something to eat when you get back to your hotel because they know you are starving, even though they make sure you have time to eat in between your pictures and the first dance. They really do think of everything! We also took advantage of the new photobooth they have and the jazz band that they offer, and both of those were well worth the money! You get all of the pictures from the photobooth once hte wedding is over on a USB stick, and I am still having guests tell me how much fun they had with it. The jazz band keeps everone preoccupied while you're taking pictures so they don't come looking for you. Absolute perfection!

We had our ceremony at dusk outside of Southern Oaks. We heard from multiple guests that it was the most beautiful ceremony. I would definitely recommend spending the extra money for the carriage ride. I actually heard guests gasp when they saw me come out in the carriage.
The reception went smoothly. We were able to try our food, which was delicious! The DJ did a great job and was able to get everyone on the dance floor. We had a blast!
For any brides who are planning an out-of-town wedding in NOLA, I would definitely consider Southern Oaks!! You will be able to give your guests some NOLA flavor, without all the stress of worrying about different vendors. They plan everything for you, and the venue is absolutely gorgeous. Your pictures will be stunning.

Southern Oaks was a dream come true! The outdoor ceremony was amazing (and beautiful) and the indoor reception was...well....amazing! The staff is so helpful and informative. They truly care about every detail of your wedding and they make sure everything for your day goes off without a hitch! I really can't say enough about this wonderful staff. During the reception the bride and groom along with their parents have 'personal attendants' that keep their drinks full and make sure all their needs are met. The attendants let you know when it is time for everything to happen (cake cutting, tosses, ect..). The week of your wedding you have a rehearsal with just you and your fiance and they walk you thru EVERYTHING you can expect to happen. They really put your mind at ease.
I would really need a book to tell you about all of the great things we experienced with southern oaks. This was by far the best decision we made in our planning process. The place is beyound gorgeous and service is unbeatable.

The entire Southern Oaks staff, especially my main contact Kyle, were extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire planning process. Southern Oaks made planning a wedding easy. The knowledgeable staff was able to provide as much advice and guidance as I needed while still integrating my own ideas to make the wedding our own. If there is anything you don't understand or would like to change from the contract they provide, just ask -- they are very willing to work with you. Our wedding day was flawless!

I had my reception here and I can't add much that hasn't been said. It was truly wonderful. The property is stunning and elegant and the food was absolutely delicious. I am from the area and my family said some of the seafood was the best they ever had. I was told multiple times that our reception was the nicest and classiest that people had ever been to. The personal attendants were so wonderful; they were always there when you turned. A nice touch I thought was that they served the drinks out of plastic glasses for the guests. However, they always served me, my husband, and our parents with actual glass glasses. The only thing negative was that the picture room seemed very warm to some of us. It is understandable because was in September and both the guys and I had layers of fabric on also, but I didn't hear any guests complain. We left with boxes full of left overs for us and our parents. The staff organized the clean-up of our pictures and decorations. They got the keys to the necessary cars and packed them up. We felt it was very worth every penny!!

Although my daughter and fiance both lived in New Orleans, my husband and I live in New York. When she insisted on getting married so far from me, I couldn't imagine how I was ever going to get everything done without a lot of stress and several trips to the Big Easy. I saw SOP on line and told my daughter to go take a look at it and report back to me. Well, she immediately fell in love with it and saw no need to visit any place else. After seeing other venues and all that was involved in putting together a reception, eg. picking out linens, colors, chairs, what foods to eat, table assignments, etc., I realized that SOP was the answer to my dilemma and a stress free solution. They do it all and very well. It is superbly decorated, the food is outstanding, and the service is excellent. The band we used, No Idea, was recommended by SOP and it was the best. When they took their breaks, SOP's DJ took over so there was never a lull. If I could do it again, it would be at SOP. Unfortunately, she's my only daughter.

Every single person we dealt with throughout our entire planning process was a delight. They made sure my husband and I were taken care of in every step of the wedding without being intrusive. My drink was never less than half full, and they did everything even better than I had planned or dreamed of. They execute every single detail with such perfection that no other venue could ever compete. Their logistics are well coordinated and efficient, the food and drinks are delicious (we are still getting texts and phone calls about it), and it was a blast! As a bride I got to enjoy a private dinner with my husband and I got to dance and have fun; which I heard countless times were bride's biggest complaints about their weddings, but I didn't even have to think about it at Southern Oaks. Once Mr. Bobby found out that we were big Disney fans and had our first date there he pulled out all of the pixie dust he could find!!! Fireworks, streamers, and even an appearance from Mickey and Minnie. If you are looking for a venue - please do not even waste your time going anywhere else. Southern Oaks will blow you away.
