DJ Scott was great! A family friend recommended him to us. He met with us a few months before the wedding and we built our playlist that very night. He made sure to get ideas for the playlist from both of us since our musical tastes are different and so our guests were too. He was very flexible since it took us awhile to decide on the song we would use for our first dance. We received lots of compliments from guests. We would definitely use him again!

DJ Scott West was amazing, and a total hit at our wedding! He came out to our house a few months before the wedding to review music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. We immediately liked him, and knew he would do a great job. He had a huge variety of music, and had everyone on the dance floor all night long. He coordinated with our wedding officiant, which made the whole ceremony go smoothly. We give Scott West, and Soundwaves DJ's ten stars! We had so many compliments on our DJ, and thanks to Scott West, our wedding night went perfectly. Thank you Scott!

Scott West has a lot of experience at a variety of venues and event types around the central MD area. He is wonderful to work with! He came out to the house to plan our event and discussed the feel we wanted and the type of music we wanted played during each phase of our wedding: pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. We were not disappointed. Not only did he have an extensive library of music to choose from, but he also downloaded the songs we specified and located a few we hadn't thought of. Our guests loved the music and kept the dance floor filled.

Scott announced us into the event without making it sound like a WWF match. :-) I appreciated that.

He also set up the amplification, cables, and microphones for our live performers who did a song halfway through the ceremony. He did all of the coordination with the live performers. We did not have to play middle man. With very little input from us, he created the perfect day in music. I would recommend him HIGHLY. Great value and great experience.

My husband and I loved Scott from the moment we met him. He is so charismatic and personable and has been a joy to work with. We booked him on the spot and didn't bother meeting with anyone else. He has a website that makes requesting songs and arranging the reception extremely easy and he is easy to contact via email as well. We sprung a few last minute songs (traditional african music and mixed father/daughter dance) and he handled it very professionally. The day of he helped set up the intro with the bridal party and played music based off our crowd. He kept the party going on the dance floor and even took a few of us back to the hotel so we didn't have to walk. This guy is it!!

Our DJ, Will Cole, of Soundwaves DJs, did a fantastic job for us. We met with Will and the owner Scott West about a year before our wedding to meet them and discuss what we were looking for. As our event neared, we worked with Will on our playlist and he was always very responsive and accommodating and also provided us with additional suggestions which we were able to review and edit. For our reception, he had two systems, one for the dining room and one for the reception room. The dinner music was just right, not too loud or obtrusive and the music was appropriate for the situation. After dinner, Will really shined, as the dance floor was packed from the moment the first song played until they shut us down. He provided a great mix of dance songs and slow songs while still playing many of our requests. He kept the crowd engaged and truly was enjoying his job, dancing and jumping along to the music many times. At the end of the night, he invited my fiance and I to come up behind his setup and handed us his headphones, and we listened and danced as if we were up on stage. It was a cool little memorable moment, and a nice way to end our reception. I would highly recommend Will due to his attentiveness, professionalism, personality, and most importantly, keeping people moving on the dance floor!

Scott with Soundwave DJ's was great! He rolled with the punches when we realized we hadn't given him everything he needed and we were texting songs less than 24 hours before our reception. He kept it lively and moving along and didn't make the DJ show all about him as a lot of DJs do.

I own a limo business in the area and Ive seen them several different times at different locations. They are always prompt and always very courteous. I would highly recommend them for your next event

From all our conversations before the day-of, we really thought DJ Will would be the last vendor we needed to worry about. Unfortunately, that was the opposite. We spoke to Will a few days before the big day to confirm all of the songs (and even their durations), but on our big day, Will: forgot to play music during the ceremony recessional (after I pronounce you husband & wife), played OUR song as the bridal party's entrance music to the reception, didn't fade-out our first dance, so there was an awkward ending and played a few organized-dance songs which we explicitly put on the do-not play list (electric slide, ymca, those types). Apparently he apologized to our day-of coordinator Catherine and said this was his worst wedding/he was extremely sorry and wanted to play a free event for us, but Will never actually came up to us to apologize or has contacted us since. I wonder if things would have been different if Scott was our DJ (seemed a lot more responsive and eager to please), but who knows.
