Anthony with SOM Events is someone I have worked with in the past and, over the years, he and his wife Eryn have become close friends of ours. From the first time I worked with Anthony, I knew I wanted him to DJ my wedding.
Anthony has an uncanny ability to read the room and play exactly the right music to keep people on the dance floor. He makes the necessary announcements professionally and was extremely careful about getting the pronunciation of each name correct. Anthony isn’t the “club DJ” type, the kind that yell over the music, which is not my style at all. He’s extremely good at mixing the music and blending one song so seamlessly into the next, sometimes, you don’t realize the song has changed right away! Anthony always ends his events exactly on time, timing his last few songs so that the last song ends just as the clock ticks over to the ending time. It’s truly incredible.
The event planner online was a great way to communicate our must plays and our do not plays in a concise manner that was easy to access. This was also where we were able to input the names of the bridal party and communicate other things, like times (courses, ceremony, etc.) and everything is in one place and easy to access. Knowing how great Anthony is, I didn’t want to overwhelm the must play list and limit his creative freedom, and just gave him general guidelines of what type of music we wanted, and he delivered! I had guests coming up to me and complimenting my music choices and I had to tell them that it was all Anthony! The music volume was also absolute perfection. People were able to talk and hear each other without an issue, even on the dance floor, but the music was loud enough to be immersive. My ears weren’t ringing or in pain at the end of the night and I think that’s the first time I’ve ever walked out of an event being able to hear.
Eryn is a pleasure to work with. She is so bubbly and friendly, but also extremely detail oriented and organized. She really gets the job done! Eryn and Anthony are a dynamic duo running this business and their success speaks for itself.

I cannot say enough good things about Sounds of Music Entertainment. Anthony, Eryn, and their staff were truly amazing! During the planning phase, Anthony spoke with us frequently. He also uses a really user-friendly portal where we planned the music for the entire day and put our requested songs together. They did the music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. I can truly say from start to finish, it was absolutely amazing. They even set our officiant up with a microphone for the ceremony. They played the exact songs we wanted and kept the party going until the very end. I highly recommend SOM Entertainment!

Anthony and Eryn are by far the best, and Dan and I are so happy to have worked with them! They are the preferred vendor for our venue, and I can see why!

They took our music suggestions, added some more of their own, and they got the crowd dancing all night long (which is exactly what we wanted, a party!!) They were also super helpful with providing suggestions for ceremony music which is where I was completely stumped. I wanted modern but all instrumental and they provided a few groups to listen to, which I went with!

They are super patient and kind, and super flexible with hours and talking/meeting up. I think we had the platinum package? I can’t fully remember but we chose not to do the clouds but did the gobo on the dance floor and chose blue uplighting. We said no to the spotlight during the dances which I regret, so do it if you are debating!

Overall 5 stars! I will def be in touch if we ever need a DJ again. Thank you both so much! Xo

Anthony and his team were absolutely amazing to work with!! They were always extremely professional yet made the whole experience so much fun! He followed our requests exactly throughout the whole night! From the ceremony, to cocktail hour, and into the reception.. it was absolutely perfect! We had a bunch of our guests with upcoming weddings even come up to us and ask for his info! I wouldn't think twice about hiring them again for another event! Anthony, Eryn and their team are amazing. They made our wedding so enjoyable and kept everyone happy and dancing the night away. The uplighting added a beautiful touch to our night as well.
