Anthony with SOM Events is someone I have worked with in the past and, over the years, he and his wife Eryn have become close friends of ours. From the first time I worked with Anthony, I knew I wanted him to DJ my wedding.
Anthony has an uncanny ability to read the room and play exactly the right music to keep people on the dance floor. He makes the necessary announcements professionally and was extremely careful about getting the pronunciation of each name correct. Anthony isn’t the “club DJ” type, the kind that yell over the music, which is not my style at all. He’s extremely good at mixing the music and blending one song so seamlessly into the next, sometimes, you don’t realize the song has changed right away! Anthony always ends his events exactly on time, timing his last few songs so that the last song ends just as the clock ticks over to the ending time. It’s truly incredible.
The event planner online was a great way to communicate our must plays and our do not plays in a concise manner that was easy to access. This was also where we were able to input the names of the bridal party and communicate other things, like times (courses, ceremony, etc.) and everything is in one place and easy to access. Knowing how great Anthony is, I didn’t want to overwhelm the must play list and limit his creative freedom, and just gave him general guidelines of what type of music we wanted, and he delivered! I had guests coming up to me and complimenting my music choices and I had to tell them that it was all Anthony! The music volume was also absolute perfection. People were able to talk and hear each other without an issue, even on the dance floor, but the music was loud enough to be immersive. My ears weren’t ringing or in pain at the end of the night and I think that’s the first time I’ve ever walked out of an event being able to hear.
Eryn is a pleasure to work with. She is so bubbly and friendly, but also extremely detail oriented and organized. She really gets the job done! Eryn and Anthony are a dynamic duo running this business and their success speaks for itself.

I cannot say enough good things about Sounds of Music Entertainment. Anthony, Eryn, and their staff were truly amazing! During the planning phase, Anthony spoke with us frequently. He also uses a really user-friendly portal where we planned the music for the entire day and put our requested songs together. They did the music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. I can truly say from start to finish, it was absolutely amazing. They even set our officiant up with a microphone for the ceremony. They played the exact songs we wanted and kept the party going until the very end. I highly recommend SOM Entertainment! -
User2577566 Sent on 04/15/2016Absolutely amazing!!!! Our original DJ canceled 4 days before our wedding, and The Sounds of Music Entertainment literally saved our wedding! I can not express in this tiny paragraph how grateful we are to have found them. From my first conversation with Eryn I knew that they would be fantastic and actually show up to our wedding unlike our original DJ. Eryn was extremely organized and quick to respond to our questions. Anthony was absolutely amazing, he was hired four days before our wedding, and during the holidays, and still made time to answer all of our questions and listened to all of our song recommendations (Ceremony and Reception). Anthony blew the roof off our venue, and our party was rocking from start to finish!! We are forever grateful to have hired Sounds of Music Entertainment, they literally saved our wedding and made it even more memorable to have such an awesome team at our wedding. They even have an online portal for song requests. This company is top shelf, and just genuinely good people. We had a winter wedding and when we walked into the wedding reception Anthony had the place lit up with snowflakes. UNREAL!!!! Really went above and beyond to make our wedding that much more amazing. We literally danced the entire wedding and we obviously highly recommend them!!! HIRE THEM YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! -

Jaime Sent on 11/20/2017The music at our wedding was good once we gave direction midway through (and then everyone was dancing) but the entire experience with Eryn was a disaster. We had a musician for our ceremony but needed the sound system for him to play. Initially we were given prices by them for them to play our ceremony when we signed the contract yet when we wanted to add the ceremony in, they didnt adhere to the contracted fees. I sent them the exact price list they gave us, and referred them to our contract but they got back to us saying theyre not sure where I got the price list (from them!!) or what company gave us those fees (them again. Their company name and website were listed on it as well). instead they gave us bogus reasons why it was hundreds more (that they had to set up and now needed to use speakers.. Uh, shouldnt that be included in the rate you already gave us?!) They still wouldn't budge. Eryn was extremely unprofessional and snippy (which caused my ONLY Bridal freakout in return). Unfortunately it was so close to our wedding and we had already paid the deposit that it was too late to change our mind with the DJ. Although at the end of the day it was fine, our venue graciously offered their sound system for our musician for the ceremony, in hindsight I would have chosen a different DJ company. I felt trapped and tricked by them and it was definitely not worth the stress and frustration of hiring them.Sounds of Music Entertainment's reply:

The Bridgewater Manor and SOMEntertainment take pride in our partnership by offering substantial discounts to our mutual clients and unmatched customer service. Under our contract, extra "time" is stated to be available, however, extra "services" are not. You are referring to adding both Ceremony + Cocktail hour to your booked 4hour Reception - As we clearly explained, both of those "services" are extra fee's and will result in a new contract.
