About

My name is DJ Preston with Sound Wave DJ Services and we’re a local DJ/Event company that has done hundreds of weddings all over East Tennessee!

Our mission is to keep all of your party-goers dancing and having a blast! What sets us apart is that we provide our years of DJ experience and many add-ons (such as dance lighting, multiple audio setups for Ceremony/Reception, wireless mics, DJ event insurance and more) at no extra cost, while our competitors charge you for it. We also have a “no cheesiness” policy. We don’t play cheesy music, we don’t use 70’s disco ball lighting and we don’t get on the microphone (unless it’s for your announcements)! We can work with you to custom tailor your event and make it exactly what you've dreamed of! We specialize in playing the right tunes at the right time.

The best DJ around!

DJ Preston did an incredible job at my wedding! He really cared all along the way and kept me so informed on how this whole process will go and for a bride that is a relief! We had so many compliments on his song choice and lighting and we cannot thank him enough for all he has done to make our night beautiful and one to remember!

Very happy with our DJ

Best Knoxville DJ!

I've been to a few weddings and seen some bad DJ's (my sister's wedding being one of them), so when it came time to choose a DJ, I was very picky! I'm thrilled that we picked Sound Wave DJ's for our wedding, Preston specifically (who owns the company I believe). He was great at providing dinner/cocktail music that our guests mingled to and then he got the party going once it was time to dance and didn't let it stop! He was friendly and responsive throughout the entire process too. Highly recommend.

The best you will find anywhere!

A great DJ that knows how to keep the party going!! Preston made me feel confident every step of the way and really came thru the day of our wedding!! My sister has hired them for her wedding next year, really the best you can get (and I've seen a lot of DJs)

Really happy we hired Sound Wave for our wedding, they made the process SUPER EASY and the guests were all talking about how good our DJ was, so it made us look good:) Thanks again Preston and his assistant, really nice and on top of everything. Best DJ you can get!

Could not ask for more from a DJ!

We hired Sound Wave for our big day last summer and they had good communication right from the beginning. Preston was our DJ and he made it clear that he would be as involved or hands-off as we wanted him to be. He only suggest things that we asked him about (after making it clear he would be happy to help with anything leading up our wedding) and it was perfect!

He made sure everyone had a great time at our wedding and we couldn't have been happier with how it went! Thanks again Preston and Sound Wave! 5 stars all around.

Best you can get for a DJ

My wife did most of the communicating with them, but she said they were always very responsive up until the wedding, and I can vouch that they did a great job during our wedding! The music was exactly the type we asked for and everyone kept saying how good our DJ was, even after the wedding. I've been to a lot of weddings, so I know a good (and bad) DJ when I see one. These guys are the best around, no question about it.

Made our wedding a blast!

These guys are the best! DJ Preston and his assistant djed our wedding over the summer and I'm late on writing this review, but they rocked the party! We emailed a ton leading up to it and they always responded right back. they kept picking all the right songs and everyone had a blast! their "dj booth" setup looked awesome and much better than the DJ at my sister's wedding that just brought a couple speakers. We plan to hire them again for all future events. Thanks!

Great dj!!

We hired Sound Wave almost a year before our wedding after talking to Preston and being impressed with his friendly and no pressure attitude.
He always got back to me or Mike within a couple hours leading up to our wedding, and delivered a fun dance party on our wedding day! He also helped us make big decision leading up to it. His setup and dress clothes were all very professional and I recommend him to my friends that are getting married. Thanks Preston!!

The best, period!

As someone who used to work at a nightclub, I've heard my fair share of DJ's. DJ Preston is up there with the best of them! You can tell he actually works at his craft and knows what he is doing the way he was able to mix the songs together and keep everyone dancing!! Most wedding DJ's just play a song, then stop it, then play another song, but Preston blends them all so you never have time to stop dancing!! My biggest complaint is that I didn't really have time to sit down all night since he kept putting good songs on. I loved that he mixed in older songs with newer ones, and so did my mom!

He also had an assistant who basically helped coordinate our entire day, we felt truly blessed to have found them. Sound Wave is the best, period!
