Smithville Inn is a small but stunning wedding venue in Absecon, New Jersey. This historic dining hall was built circa 1978 and has been serving the Absecon community ever since. Facilities and Capacity The Smithville Inn offers a beautiful view of Lake Meone as well as the rolling countryside of Southern New Jersey. Cobblestone paths lead to a quaint gazebo in the outdoor terrace, perfect for an outdoor ceremony or cocktail hour. Inside, you can choose from several dining areas, each of which overlooks the lake and manicured gardens. Smithville Inn also offers smaller private dining areas that boast fireplaces that provide a warm atmosphere during intimate winter weddings. The Smithville Inn can accommodate up to 175 guests in total. The facilities also offer a private get-ready room for couples to utilize.
Services Offered At the Smithville Inn, you and your guests are treated like family. The exceptional wait staff, chefs, and wedding planners are here to make every part of your wedding day run smoothly and efficiently. They offer several wedding packages to suit a wide range of styles and budgets. You can choose from a variety of services, inclusive of the ceremony, reception, or both. You will have up to four hours of access to the open bar, including a cocktail hour and a champagne toast. You will also have a choice of a buffet-style or a multi-course sit-down dinner. Right from the start, the Smithville Inn team was amazing to work with. Justine, Erin and the entire staff was super responsive in answering all our questions. We loved the historic vibe of the venue and the fact that there’s only one wedding per day. You can really feel the personalized attention from their entire team. We did both the ceremony and reception on site, and everything was perfect.
The Absegami room was a beautiful, intimate ceremony space that was then quickly transformed into a fun cocktail hour space. The food was incredible! Our guests raved about the food from cocktail hour through dessert. Highly recommend adding the slider station; the brisket sliders were amazing! The bartenders were great, we loved the flexibility of adding alcohol upgrades and including signature wedding drinks. For dessert, we added the milk and cookie bar which was a huge hit with our guests and made for a great favor. From start to finish, the Smithville Inn was amazing and we had the perfect wedding day. We can’t thank their team enough for making our dream wedding a reality!

Stunning!!
Smithville Inn, in my opinion, is probably on the pricier side of average for weddings, but I’d also say it was worth it. The venue itself is stunningly beautiful, you could honestly not add any extra decor and you’d still have a gorgeous wedding. The grounds are picturesque with greenery, lights, and an overall magical atmosphere. The entire village is beautiful and it has been one of my favorite places to visit all my life. The staff there were wonderful to work with, and the service during the actual day was spectacular. They took fantastic care of all my guests, and they made certain the groom and I were well fed and taken care of. They handled everything with incredible care and expertise. All the vendors I used had worked with them multiple times which helped make everything flow seamlessly. Best night of my life, I couldn’t ask for a better experience.

Amazing Wedding
From the moment we arrived, we knew the Smithville Inn was the perfect place for our wedding. Words cannot fully express our gratitude for Amanda, Justine, and Elaina, whose responsiveness and attentiveness throughout the planning process and on our wedding day were extraordinary. Anytime I needed assistance, one of these incredible ladies promptly addressed my concerns and eased my nerves. They went above and beyond in arranging our decorations and accommodating all our preferences, making the experience seamless and stress-free.
We opted for the buffet dinner, and the food exceeded all expectations. With a wide variety of abundant and delicious options, our guests are still raving about the food. Being nestled in the village and staying on-site added a charming "destination weekend" feel to our celebration, even though it was close to home. Every detail of the day—and the entire weekend—was simply perfect.

Picture Perfect Venue
Smithville Inn has a banquet department that handles every detail from arrival to departure. There were separate rooms for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Each room had a magnificent view of the outside areas. Each one of our vendors worked seamlessly with the banquet staff, even though only one of them had prior experience with the Smithville Inn. And the food was excellent.

The coziest winter wedding!!
The Smithville Inn went above and beyond with our wedding!! Every single detail was perfect and they answered all of my questions super quick. Justine, Erin and Amanda were so friendly and always made me feel confident with how our day was going to turn out. Everyone constantly talks about how great the food at our wedding was and that it was the best they ever had! They accommodated me and my gluten allergy by giving me a custom dinner and putting aside special cocktail hour food for me that I could eat. Every single part of the smithville inn is charming, from when you walk in to the fireplace to the back of the reception with the gorgeous windows with a beautiful view. I couldn’t be happier with our wedding!!

The prefect venue for our wedding
The venue was perfect, the food was prefect, the service on our day was exceptional and leading up our was great as well.
We had used a very inclusive package that allowed a ton of food from cocktail hour straight through dessert and it all tasted good.
The ladies in Banquet Department were very helpful in answering questions and helping us along the way. Overall very good experience.

Best day ever
Prior to getting engaged,I joked around saying I want to get married at the smithville Inn because they had a French fry bar option. Well this weekend we did just that and you know we had the French fry bar! The team here was amazing,responsive and made sure every detail came to life. One thing I can say is this day exceeded anything I thought I had planned. It truly was a beautiful day and I can't say good enough things about this venue! Everything was on schedule and perfect. Any question or thought I had was addressed through out the process and it was always easy to contact Justine or Erin. It was such an amazing day and it was an absolute dream. If your thinking about booking this venue, do it!!

Most beautiful wedding
My wedding day was an absolute dream thanks to the Smithville Inn. It was such a beautiful ceremony and reception and all the staff was incredible! Justine, Erin, and Hailey were there to answer any questions we had. We love the Smithville Inn!

We LOVED our wedding experience at the Smithville
Our whole wedding experience at the Smithville was perfection from start to finish. The coordinators, Justine and Erin, and the entire staff was so helpful and supportive during the planning process and the day of. We got so many compliments on what a unique and beautiful venue/location. Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for something outside of the cookie cutter ballroom.

Absolutely Perfect
I don’t have enough words to describe how amazing our wedding was. Justine and Erin flawlessly helped to create our perfect day. There was not a single thing we had to worry about, between the food, the decor, the setup, it was all taken care of. If I had to do this day all over again I wouldn’t change a thing.
