Historically, at a wedding, by the end of hour two of dancing, I’ve found a nice quiet couch in a corner, while everyone else keeps the dance floor going. So, it stunned not just me but also my now-husband, my family, and several friends when I was out there virtually the whole night. We were even up on stage with the band for a few songs! Because Slippery Band was just. That. Good. They started the night with classics that got the older generations on the floor and transitioned to end on pop rock bangers that had all of our friends shouting along with the lyrics and dancing up a storm. We barely had voices the next day!

The band asked us from the beginning to trust them with the set list and, boy, did they NAILED it. Virtually every guest we spoke to at the reception and that we’ve spoken to since has mentioned how fantastic they were. And what’s even more impressive: they nailed every special song and dance we asked them for – and were totally game for our more out-there requests. We had the usual first dance (perfect, especially for two non-dancers who were very nervous about it), father-daughter dance (had multiple family members wiping away tears), and mother-son dance (so beautiful). But they also happily added a special “mothers and daughters” dance that allowed us to honor my mom. And when my husband joked our entrance song should start with a riff from Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” Chris, the band’s leader, said, “Oh, we can probably do that” – and then did it flawlessly. (Our photographer caught pictures of me full-body laughing when I heard it lead into “Shut Up and Dance.”)

Finally, they handled our ceremony music and sound beautifully – and made possible one of the most special parts of the day. My brother and sister-in-law are both talented semi-professional musicians, and as a wedding gift, they agreed to arrange and play a song as I walked down the aisle. When Chris heard about this plan, he was extremely supportive and connected with them to make sure that Slippery would have ready any and all sound support that they would need to make it happen. It sounded so beautiful, and we could not be more grateful.

We could not have asked for a better band for our wedding!

Chris was awesome to work with from start to finish. He made time for multiple calls leading up to the wedding to make sure every detail was dialed in, which gave us a ton of confidence going into the big day.

They handled everything seamlessly—from a beautiful violin performance during the ceremony, to a perfect jazz set for cocktail hour, and then absolutely crushed it as the MC and band for the reception. The energy all night was incredible and the dance floor was packed.

Slippery Band absolutely brought the party for our wedding! Our reception was outdoors but the sound was still full and lively without drowning out the whole event. Chris was very proactive during the planning phase, including helping us navigate all of the different decisions and orchestration that helped make the night feel tailored to us. From booking to boogying, the Slippery Band was a pleasure to work with. Chris was very responsive when questions were asked in the months before the wedding. We had them do ceremony guitar, cocktail hour three-piece, and the full band for dancing. We even went a little bit outside their norm and they accommodated with the type of three-piece instrument ensemble that I wanted to use. They learned two new songs for us and executed them delightfully. Their emcee was great and he worked with the wedding coordinators smoothly. On top of all the work they did for us, they kept smiles on their faces, a professional demeanor, and I truly believe that they enjoyed themselves.

Slippery band was 10/10! I don’t think a single person sat the entire night- Slippery kept the dance floor alive from the moment they started playing! Months after our wedding we still have people talking about how good our wedding band was! Could not recommend enough! We hired Slippery Band having seen them perform at a family member's wedding 9 years prior, and they were even better than we had hoped for!! Our wedding was at HollyHedge Estate, and they are a preferred vendor for good reason. Our guests are still talking about how amazing our band was 3 months later! We had them do our ceremony and reception and everything went off without a hitch. They were super easy to communicate with leading up to the big day which helped to keep the stress levels low when picking our first song and Mom/Son and Father/Daughter dances. They learned and performed all of the songs we went for these dances, and you can tell all of the members have a fun time performing, which adds to the whole experience!
