"Sketches" is a Contemporary Jazz group that is ready to perform for your event in the Greater Richmond area! we offer modern-sounding music in a Smooth Jazz setting, with a beat you can groove to on the dance floor, or just enjoy listening to.

You'll hear creative, toe-tapping renditions of songs by artists like Earth Wind & Fire, George Benson, Earl Klugh, Ramsey Lewis, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder. Sketches also performs updated versions of traditional Jazz songs made famous by artists like Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, John Coltrane, and Billie Holiday. And, we can always prepare that one special song for your occasion!

You can come out and hear Sketches perform live in various Greater Richmond area locations, such as Emilio's Downtown Tapas Bar. We have also performed live over the air on WRIR 97.3FM.

Along with bandleader Gene Pendleton on guitar, Sketches features longtime Richmond Jazz figure Debo Dabney on keyboards, Golden Skipper on vocals, Michael Steele on bass guitar, Jeff Tozer on drums, and Maroon Corey on flugelhorn.
