The Shelter Harbor Inn is a family-owned New England property in the Shelter Harbor community of Westerly, Rhode Island. Tucked away on Wagner Road and just steps from the shore, the inn offers history, character, and charm. In a beautiful setting on over 3-acres of greenery, there is plenty of space for you and your loved ones to make the most of this celebrated venue.
Facilities and Capacity
The Shelter Harbor Inn offers a variety of event spaces for your special day. Each location provides a welcoming atmosphere, pairing classic charm with modern convenience and style. The 23-room inn features an on-site restaurant accommodating 70 people indoors and 40 on the patio. The smaller restaurant, The Conservatory, is an elegantly decorated space that can accommodate up to 30 guests. The lounge area of the inn, also known as the Salon, can comfortably hold up to 50 guests for an intimate indoor ceremony and reception. Weather permitting, the inn can also fit up to 250 people for an outdoor soiree if you wish to have a larger celebration.
Services Offered
The family-owned inn understands how important your special day is and prides itself on being flexible and accommodating. Catering is also available on-site. The restaurant specializes in fresh farm-to-table New American cuisine and classic New England favorites. The property’s team will ensure all requests are considered and can assist with all the details of your special day. The bride and groom will also receive a complimentary room for their wedding night.
History
Originally an 1800s farmhouse, the inn was purchased by the Flanagan family in 2019. Interior designers Randolph Duke and Blake Maroon wholly refurbished the space. The interior delivers attractive detailing while retaining the esteemed appeal of this historic setting. The property boasts farmhouse charm and modern-day elegance through every detail, including dark wood accents and pops of color. Furniture, architecture, and décor worldwide collide and celebrate history, character, and style in every room.

Wonderful Wedding Experience at Shelter Harbor Inn
While the food all tasted great during our tasting I'm always inherently skeptical of banquet food when made for the masses. I have to say the food at every stage of the event exceeded expectations and that was confirmed to me with compliments from many of our guests.
Couldn't be happier with the way we were treated by the folks at the Inn and we're 100% satisfied that we chose to have our wedding there. I grew up nearby but we currently live across the country in Los Angeles. Shelter Harbor was able to provide almost one-stop shopping for our needs which made things much much easier on us. The only thing they didn't cover was Photographer, DJ and bakery for the cake. Not having to worry about linen and chair rentals, etc made things much easier on us. Highly recommend!
