The Shelter Harbor Inn is a family-owned New England property in the Shelter Harbor community of Westerly, Rhode Island. Tucked away on Wagner Road, and just steps away from the shore, the inn offers history, character, and charm. In a beautiful setting on over 3-acres of greenery, there is plenty of space for you and your loved ones to make the most of this celebrated venue.

Facilities and Capacity

The Shelter Harbor Inn offers a variety of event spaces for your special day. Each location provides a welcoming atmosphere pairing classic charm with modern convenience and style. The 23-room inn features an on-site restaurant that accommodates 70 people indoors and 40 people on the patio. The smaller restaurant, The Conservatory, is an elegantly-decorated space that can accommodate up to 30 guests. The lounge area of the inn, also known as the Salon, can comfortably hold up to 50 guests for an intimate indoor ceremony and reception. Weather permitting, if you wish to have a larger celebration, the inn can also fit up to 250 people for an outdoor soiree.

The restaurant specializes in fresh farm-to-table New American cuisine and classic New England favorites. The property’s team will make sure all requests are taken into consideration and can assist with all the details of your special day. The bride and groom will also receive a complimentary room for their wedding night.

History

Originally an 1800 farm-house, the inn was purchased by the Flanagan family in 2019. The space was completely refurbished by interior designers Randolph Duke and Blake Maroon. The interior delivers attractive detailing throughout while retaining the esteemed appeal of this historic setting. The property boasts farm-house charm and modern-day elegance through every detail, including dark wood accents and pops of color throughout. Furniture, architecture, and décor from all over the world collide and celebrate history, character, and style in every room.
