Scratch Baking is our neighborhood bakery, and in addition to our love of visiting them frequently for breakfast pizza and their offerings at the weekly farmer’s market, we loved having their desserts at our wedding. My husband and I were married at the New Haven Lawn Club in June 2017 and couldn’t imagine using anyone else for our dessert needs. We didn’t want to opt for the traditional wedding cake, so we ordered ten different bite-sized desserts and an apple crumb pie for our ‘pie cutting.’ Our guests LOVED the dessert options, and we couldn’t be happier. Leslie and her team take such care in their craft, and even brought back an item they stocked during Easter for us, just because we needed it at the wedding (the carrot cake cookie is so good!). What’s more, being Milford residents ourselves, we felt great supporting a local business - and one that blows away the competition!

We wanted our wedding cake to be delicious, and visited a number of vendors trying to find the perfect cake. The last place we visited was Scratch Baking, and we put down a deposit before leaving the shop. Lesli had baked delicious cakes for us to try, and gave great advice about flavors. She was eager to have the cake be the best that it could for us--and worked to keep the cost down. Choosing the cake was our favorite vendor experience.

Our wedding cake was from Scratch Baking and was absolutely delicious. We chose carrot cake and everyone seemed to enjoy it! Leslie was very helpful in determining flavors of cake and frosting that fit our wedding and our choice definitely was a good one. Our experience with scratch baking was a very positive and one and I highly recommend this bakery!
