About

Hi, I'm based in Santa Barbara, but I play weddings and events all over Southern California. I specialize in Flamenco, Classical, Spanish and Brazilian guitar styles. I'm a graduate of the USC School of Music and alumni of The Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara. I've performed at over 700 weddings. I've lived, worked and performed in Spain, Costa Rica and Brazil. I'm completely fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Over my career I've had the honor and pleasure of performing with Slash, Lenny Kravitz (see video Always on the Run), Itzhak Pearlman, Pepe Romero and others. Highly recommend!

Sam delivered exactly what we envisioned for our wedding day! His music set the perfect romantic tone to begin our ceremony and he is not only talented but very professional and a pleasure to work with.

The perfect wedding accompaniment

Sam played at our wedding in the spring of 2022 and he was fantastic. We had a small intimate ceremony and cocktail hour, and Sam’s mix of contemporary and classical music was spot on. We had few requests but mostly let Sam set the tone, and he did a wonderful job. He was also so easy to work with up and through the event. Highly recommend.

Just the magical touch our venue needed

I’m so happy we connected with Sam to play guitar during our wedding ceremony. My husband and I got married in the Mural Room at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. We absolutely loved it there but couldn’t play amplified music. Having Sam play guitar added such a special touch and really elevated the ambiance. Sam was so easy to work with and truly a talented musician.

Happy, Upbeat Music!

Sam is not only an excellent musician, he knows how to "Read the Room", and play the right tunes at the right time. He has a crazy amount and variety of songs to pull from. Honestly, Sam made our wedding magical. We are so grateful for his love of all types of music.

Beautiful, unique wedding music

Sam Adams went out of his way to accommodate the vision for our wedding. He was spectacular and his Spanish finger-style playing was beautiful and wonderfully unique. His repertoire was perfect for our non-religious ceremony. He played a mix of classic "wedding" songs and soft rock like Cat Stevens and the Beatles -- two of our favorite artists. I highly recommend Mr. Adams for your musical needs!

Amazing musician

As a musician, the music for our wedding was one of our top priorities. From the moment we met Sam we knew he was perfect for the job. His classical music is beautiful and flawless, and he was able to play any other type of song that we named. I’m in awe of his amazing playing, and working with him was an amazingly pleasant and seamless experience.
