Robert Hall is an unconventional banquet hall wedding venue situated in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Located in Industry Hill, the revitalized downtown industrial area, this eclectic property is close to performance venues, breweries, restaurants, museums, galleries, and maker spaces. With its own storied history, this building is ready to host a couple's special celebration in a unique backdrop.

Facilities and Capacity

Robert Hall was originally constructed as a doctor's office in the early 1900s. Over the years, it has served in many roles, such as a cafe, sign shop, and metal workshop. The current iteration as an event venue and gathering space is the brainchild of owners Christy and Will Spencer. These entrepreneurs are passionate about local history and thrilling celebrations and want to provide a setting that reflects both. This venue has three event spaces for a couple to select from or to book combined. The Garden is an outdoor patio space of 2,100 square feet in size. This landscaped area has trees, two outdoor fireplaces, plenty of seating, and a wishing well. Inside, the first floor holds The Vault, a 2,500 square foot room with its original industrial ambience of brick columns, gray block walls, and exposed sawmill planks. Upstairs on the second floor and through 1920s brass entry doors, Capone's Bar provides a 2,500-square-foot gathering area with abundant natural lighting. Salvaged knotty pine paneling, naval blue walls, and tin ceiling set the mood around the authentic 1920s mahogany bar and antique brass cash register.

Services Offered

Robert Hall hosts wedding ceremonies and receptions, including elopements. It is also available for engagement parties, showers, and rehearsal dinners. The staff can provide bar service, event rentals, get-ready rooms, and event cleanup.

Venue full of character with an amazing staff

Great multipurpose venue that is perfect for any occasion. The layout makes it easy to handle a huge crowd while not feeling too packed. The open brick walls, high ceilings, outdoor areas, fun details/swanky props (like an old telephone and Capone's Wooden Bar), and seating provided created an aesthetic that did not require much additional decor. Our guests loved this venue! The team (Kris) was amazing to work with. He went above and beyond!!

New spot for great wedding venue!

Our son, who grew up in WS and his fiancé wanted an interesting and not so expected venue for their wedding reception. They do not live in WS but because of grandfather they wanted to get married in WS. We met with Kris and immediately knew if space was right we wanted to work with him. Unfortunately for Kris he had to meet with me and friends way too many times. Kris never gave me the feeling that I was a burden which of course I was. I asked him to relocate and refigure furniture. Thirsty Buffalo was not under contract with RH at the time of our wedding but TB was so easy to work with. Great suggestions as well as great drinks! 1618 on Location catered our food. They love the kitchen space at RH. I can’t express how much we enjoyed Kris and his willingness to make everything work for us. Glad to talk with anyone interested if that is appropriate. 5 plus stars!!!

We had a fantastic experience!!!!!

Chris was a God send. He was very tuned in to what our thoughts and wishes were for our son's wedding reception. He did a fantastic job walking us through the contract, what was offered and MOST importantly, all the detailed nuances that we wished for, he made happen! He worked well with our caterer and Thirsty Buffalo was a perfect addition to our reception. The facilities are amazing and there is so much to work with. I could hang out at Capone's as a nightly thing it's that great! They have partnered with some great service providers, (hats off to Matt and Jessica ) Thisty Buffalo. If you want a great party at a beautiful place, call Chris!
