I disagree with the one review that Rev Smith is in it for the money. Rev Smith goes above and beyond... He stays in contact with the couples he has married, if it was about money he wouldn't take the time to build relationships. He is human and people do make mistakes. Im sure your day wasn't ruined. Anyway, Rev Smith was early and very flexible with our schedule and the option for a rehersal was given, but we did not need one. The love letter box ceremony was so special! Our daughter is seven and her mom and dad getting married was an important day. We included her in the love letter ceremony... She wrote a letter to us placed it in the box along with our letters and we each used a hammer to nail the box shut. Our daughter held our hands and we finished our vows. Our wedding was such a happy day for everyone. Rev Smith could have messed up my name and none of that would have mattered. Our guest talked about our ceremony all night. It was very unique. I am so glad we found Rev Smith to officiate our wedding. It was PERFECT!

Rev. Smith was a pleasure to work with. Neither my fiancee or I really had a church, and we were not having our ceremony in a church either, so it's hard to find a trustworthy officiant who is willing to travel. He was extremely polite and worked hard to make sure our wedding was everything we wanted. His "Wooden Box Ceremony" really stole the show :)

Rev Smith performed my sister and now my brother-in law wedding this past weekend 8/1/2010. He is very professional and he was 40 minutes early. Beautiful ceremony, we are so glad we had Rev Smith as the officiant

A very professional and friendly non-denominational minister. Has beautifully written ceremonies, that you can add your own readings, wordings, passages to. All readings are very unique. Very easy to work with. Somewhat soft-spoken, may need a microphone to help voice projection.

Rev. Greg Smith is a joy to work with. I had some special requests for our wedding ceremony and he was willing to incorporate my wants and needs. He delivered such a special ceremony. So many of our guests approached us afterwards commenting on how beautiful and unique it was. So glad that we decided to have him orchestrate our special day.

Had originally selected him as our minister, but 6 months before our wedding, he called to inform us that he had double-booked our date, and even though we had put down our deposit and booked before the other couple, we got bumped to a different officiant. Can't really complain about that--Rev. Smith made the arrangements with our new officiant and he turned out to be AMAZING, so I'll give him a bit of credit there--but it was really disappointing to get the boot even though we were responsible and booked our date very early. I respect that he called and set us up with another minister, but this situation never should have happened in the first place. A nice guy overall, but beware--he does A LOT of weddings, so this may happen to you, too. Please note, as a result of doing a large number of weddings in a single weekend, he also does not do rehearsals, which made me somewhat wary.

I should have known better than to hire someone who 'doesn't do rehearsals'.
Although he had the whole ceremony written out (and for $200, certainly should have practiced it a few times beforehand), he botched the wording in at least four places, and mispronounced our last name when presenting us as man and wife at the end, all of which is now preserved for eternity on our wedding video. I could understand this, perhaps, if we didn't have a relatively simple, two-syllable last name -- not to mention that my fiance made a point of reminding him right before the ceremony how to pronounce it!
A rehearsal could easily have prevented this. Don't hire anyone who doesn't do one -- just because they do weddings every weekend doesn't mean they don't owe you a quick rehearsal (we could even have done the rehearsal at another location if he was pressed for time). Our overall impression was that this guy was in it for the money, which is probably why he does so many weddings and not rehearsals. This is the only vendor I completely regret hiring for our wedding.
