Rev. Matthew Di Clemente
Compassionate Spiritual Care
"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God." (1 John 4:7)
My goal is to create a ceremony that is truly meaningful for you and your guests, and which reflects your beliefs. I perform weddings at church, at home, at your reception venue, or in a variety of scenic natural settings.
After spending my undergraduate years at Rutgers University as a foreign language major, I attended New Brunswick Theological Seminary, America's oldest and most progressive school of theological preparation. I am a Lutheran, but I joyfully serve all denominations and faith traditions, as well as those of no particular faith. Lutheranism is a Christian tradition, that has its roots in the religious Reformation in Northern and Central Europe of 500 years ago. It focuses on education and scholarship, religious freedom, peace and tolerance. The Lutheran Church is know as the church of "God's work, our hands", and we take seriously our mission of helping those in need however God enables us.
I believe in love based spirituality. I believe that God is love, and we find God in the love we share with others. I do not consider one faith tradition to be better than any others, and I do not push spirituality on others. I am here to help if and only if you find you would like some help. We can craft a ceremony for you with as little or as much religion as suits your needs and preferences, and yes I am happy to officiate at interfaith and multilingual ceremonies.
It has been my joy and privilege to serve as a minister since 2008, and since that time to perform many weddings. I look forward to working with you. I have been asked whether I perform other ceremonies such as, baptism, confirmation, life celebrations and memorials, Holy Communion, house blessings, animal blessings or if I do home visits. The answer is, yes, of course. Please let me know how I can help.
There is never any cost for consultation, pre-wedding counseling or prayer support. There is also never any pressure or obligation. Please get in touch. I would love to get to know and be part of your search for the perfect officiant for your special day. I also am happy to work with you to find a donation level that works for you, or another way to give back if that is an issue. If you have any questions, don't by shy to ask.
