Resonance Duo is the realization of the dreams of Daniel and Sharon Kent. They married shortly after Daniel completed graduate school in 2010 and moved to Denver where they hoped to perform wedding ceremony music. After years of planning, saving, and waiting for the completion of Daniel’s exquisite custom made vibraphone, their plans came to fruition in Resonance Duo.
“We enjoy an extremely happy and fulfilling marriage ourselves, and we want to help other couples experience that same joy in whatever way we can. That is why we love to play at weddings. Helping a couple start their lives together in harmony is an extremely gratifying experience.” – Sharon Kent, flutist for Resonance Duo
Daniel is a highly educated percussionist, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in music from Liberty University and his Master’s degree in music performance from Bowling Green State University. In addition to his activities with Resonance Duo, Daniel has maintained an active presence in Denver’s classical music scene since moving to Denver in 2010. He has played with the Fort Collins Symphony, the Aurora Symphony, the Castle Rock Symphony, and currently serves as the principal percussionist of both the Lone Tree and Lakewood Symphony Orchestras.
Sharon knew from the young age of six she wanted to play the flute. At the age of nine she started playing and it has been her life’s passion ever since. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in 2009. She has played in various capacities throughout the United States and in Guatemala and has recorded with local indie rock band Genetic Engines. Sharon currently performs with the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra and the Denver-based flute choir Flutation Devices.

The Resonance Duo was one of my favorite and most unique aspects of my wedding. Their sound was very fun and summery but still very classy and elegant. My mom said that the music was so beautiful that it made her start to cry, even before she processed down the aisle! Daniel and Sharon were both very prompt with communication, and the original arrangement they did for our recessional was incredible! They were very flexible, and even able to adjust the timing of their playing just a few days before the wedding. Overall I wish I hadn't been so rushed trying to greet all my guests, because I would have liked to just sit and listen to them play!Sent on 07/06/2014
