My partner and I wanted a destination wedding. We were so happy when someone recommended Regatta Inn (rooms and coordination). It was the best decision ever!
All the ladies were so helpful and accommodating, we could not ask for anything better!

We rented the Regatta venue and all of their rooms, as well as enlisted their coordination services for a very special birthday party. The Inn staff was so personable and went above and beyond to ensure our group felt at home all weekend. The coordinator, through their in-house planning service, took our vision/ideas and executed it all beautifully with carefully selected details and all the bells and whistles! We requested an oyster roast style menu in the summer (yikes!) and she found the best vendor who could provide them and the shucking service on a hot summer’s day. The musician was amazing, as well as the bartending service, and the whole event was topped with a live fire performance at the end, all with a breathtaking marina backdrop. Absolutely unforgettable!

We were so happy with this event and recommend it to anyone looking for a breezy and beautiful venue that gives the most kick-ass sunset on the SC coast!

My husband and I met while attending The College of Charleston. Folly Beach was our favorite and provided the backdrop for our budding romance. After we got engaged and began looking for a wedding venue, The Regatta Inn on Folly Beach was the perfect choice! The setting on the Folly River was absolutely breathtaking and offered incredible views for photograph opportunities.

We booked the inn and venue which worked perfectly for us to have our families and wedding party on the property. The Regatta Inn offered beautiful, well-appointed rooms as well as a fantastic staff that went far and beyond our expectations to make our stay memorable.

Words cannot express how wonderful our wedding planner, Bonnie, was at her job! She was very professional and personable; as well as always being accessible to answer questions, offer advice, and book vendors.

Our wedding at The Regatta Inn was everything we dreamed of and more! We cannot recommend this venue enough!

I can not even begin to gush about how absolutely WONDERFUL the Regatta made my wedding day, they were so responsive, made everything a breeze, and completely blew me away with how gorgeous they made the space for us! I was so amazingly impressed with how it all turned out and honestly Bonnie was a freaking ROCKSTAR and you could not ask for a better wedding planner!

The Inn was the perfect location for our wedding reception and we enjoyed hosting our friends there for the weekend of our wedding!

I am so surprised that Regatta does not have more reviews than this. My wedding was June 8, 2019 and it was absolutely wonderful.. I wanted to be sure to leave a review asap. First off, I did a destination wedding which comes with stress of not knowing anyone/anything... Carly was absolutely wonderful. She sent me pics, gave recommendations, and responded in such a timely manner.. it made the whole process 10x easier. Secondly, the venue itself was absolutely dreamy. The perfect fit for wanting a beachy wedding without it being on the actual beach. My photographer captured so many beautiful pictures. Lastly, the price. It was super reasonable which is hard to find when planning a wedding. I would definitely take the time to look into Regatta Inn when planning your wedding! :)

This venue was more incredible than I imagined; it was everything I could have dream and hoped for. Not only is the venue beautiful, with it's beautiful river background the service was outstanding. This venue is perfect for weddings large or small. I'm so happy that we chose the Regatta Inn for our wedding!!!! Thanks to all of the outstanding staff that provided us with the best weekend of our lives!

The Regatta was absolutely stunning for our wedding day. This was the perfect blank slate for us to use to put together our perfect day. The staff was very easy to work with and gave us everything we needed. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and couldn't have asked for a more picturesque setting for the day. We will be back for our anniversaries for sure!

RUN AWAY FROM THIS WEDDING VENUE

WPV and the Regatta Inn cannot accommodate a large wedding!
Electricity: The day of the wedding, the caterers had to provide their own generator for which the wedding couple was billed. The band had to get 2 small generators because the Regatta’s electrical capacity was in shambles. The breaker would trip all the time. The lights went out many times during the wedding. The families of the wedding couple booked additional nights before the wedding weekend and experienced electrical problems inside the inn on the first night with only 4 rooms occupied. Parents located the breaker box behind a framed picture and reset the breaker which had tripped. There was no one from the inn at the property. Bathrooms: Regatta provided outdoor bathrooms per their contract, and they were disgusting. They obviously did not get cleaned properly before the event and were not kept up by the staff throughout the event. The smell was atrocious. The “lobby” bathroom was often not well stocked either. Carpets in the guest rooms were worn and wrinkled and pulling away from the floor. The wedding party had rented the entire inn for the wedding weekend. The rooms were not well cleaned and were very dusty. Daily service had to be requested and even then it did not always happen.
Shanika, the so called “Regatta Wedding Coordinator”, was absolutely useless. She had replaced the former Regatta coordinator the month prior to the wedding. The bride and groom had meticulously laid out the wedding and rain plan and had presented it to the Regatta and White Pearl Ventures, but Shanika failed, and never really even attempted, to get up to speed on the plans either during conference with the bride & groom or during the days leading up to the wedding. As the father of the bride, I was able to talk to Shanika by cell phone just before Noon the day of the wedding and inquired at what time she would be coming in to get set up. She informed me that she had staff that would take care of things. The couple had inquired about heaters for under the Regatta and the tent, and they were told they would be provided per the contract. Shanika was aware prior to the wedding day, that one of the heaters was broken and the others were low in fuel. The family had to borrow 3 additional heaters from a local restaurant (thank you to Rita’s) and purchase several hundred dollars in fuel tanks from the local grocery. Shanika’s attitude throughout the planning days, rehearsal and wedding day was one of complete disregard. If it wasn’t for the caterer taking over Shanika’s job to get the wedding started 1 hour later than planned, I don’t know what would have happen. Shanika was clueless all day and walked around looking dazed. Family members and some wedding guests stepped up to help because Regatta’s coordination and staffing was extremely lacking. Guests even had to lower the sides of the tent because the staff did not realize the need. The caterer had to leave her post in the middle of the reception to go and retrieve a “wedding cake” from the local grocery. The couple’s wedding cake had been delivered earlier in the day by a 3rd party vendor to the Regatta staff and the staff had misplaced it. Shanika was clueless. Don’t blame 3rd party vendors. The caterer had to step in and help coordinate things to get back on a timeline due to the wedding coordinators incompetence.
Shanika did not prepare for the band stage to be kept dry during the rain. This issue delayed the ceremony and could have been prevented with prior planning and attention. It is the consensus of those attending this wedding that the coordinator, Shanika, should be dismissed and fined. If you are thinking about having a wedding at Regatta, think twice because of Shanika and the poor maintenance of the Regatta Inn. The reason this review is 5 months after the wedding: The Bride and Groom were waiting for the Regatta and White Pearl Ventures to make things right. Never happened. Father of the Bride
