My guests had to get the bus driver get un-lost

Back in November 2024, right after a big snowstorm, my wife and I got married in the Denver area. We did most of the wedding planning ourselves, and wanted to make sure that our guests and the optimal experience possible, so we decided to charter a bus. Rally OurBus gave us the best rates, and we didn't see anything too negative (though I guess we should have gone and checked the other review on WeddingWire) so we went ahead and booked!

A bit of backstory—when we were searching, we were put in touch with a bus driver who "owned three buses" and "had good rates." He did not have a website, and when I tried to get any documentation from him I continuously came up dry. His favorite mode of communication was texting, and his "proof of services" were some selfies of himself sitting in his bus. His rates were even better than Rally's, but he ghosted me midway through the process and seemed pretty sketchy regardless, so we figured he was out of the way.

Then, the MORNING OF OUR WEDDING, I get a call. Not from Rally, but from this other guy! He informed us that HE would be picking up all our guests, and wanted to know "how conditions were" up in the mountains, which, to the best of my knowledge, is none of MY (the groom's) business the morning of the wedding, at least not insofar as it pertains to my bus driver. Apparently, Rally had contracted with him! This was a fact he also saw fit to mention that morning, and then tell me that I could have gotten a "significantly better deal" if we'd just skipped the middleman. I reminded him that he had ghosted me, not the other way around.

Thankfully, he showed up. And then, somehow, on the way to the wedding, he GOT LOST. My wife's cousin had to play navigator for him to make sure that the 50 or so guests I'd entrusted to his less than reliable care made it to the wedding. In retrospect, this has all been a very silly, very amusing story, but having one of your guest's prime memories of your wedding be how unbelievably unhinged their bus driver was is what most newlyweds really do a lot of work to avoid.

The reason this review is a two-star review is because (1) everyone got where they needed to go in one piece, and because (2) the other bus driver, who I know nothing about because he did his job in a professional and civil manner, did no wrong. In short, Rally really needs to work on their subcontracting. It also might be worth noting somewhere on their website that they are in fact a contracting service, and not the actual people operating the service, because it certainly opens up the opportunity for this kind of nonsense. Beware! Unless you want a really good story about a hectic bus driver coming back to haunt you when you least expect it!

Extremely Disappointed – Not Reliable for Weddings

I booked this company to handle transportation for my wedding, and the experience was incredibly stressful and disappointing. Most critically, they forgot to assign a bus for my bridal party, the one meant to transport me on my wedding day. Despite being told I’d receive driver info two days before the event, I had to follow up repeatedly and only got partial info the afternoon before. I still had no details for the bridal bus the morning of the wedding and had to call dispatch at 7am to get answers.

The bus arrived late, had no air conditioning (in September), and my entire bridal party was left standing in the rain waiting to board. This made me late to my own wedding.

Customer service throughout the process was poor. My rep missed key meetings, failed to communicate, and even attempted to blame me for the issues. On top of that, I had to correct multiple invoice errors, and in the end, they refunded only $100 out of a $4,000+ bill. I would not recommend this vendor to any couple planning their big day.
