We recently moved to LA from Toronto and, as you can imagine, planning a wedding from afar can be daunting. Our journey took an unexpected turn when we found out a week before our wedding that the rabbi we had originally chosen was basically a fraud who double-booked himself and told us he could no longer officiate. Devastated and unsure of where to turn, I left a very emotional voicemail for Rabbi Jonathan Klein.

In less than 20 minutes, Rabbi Klein called me back, truly answering our prayers. Despite the fact that our wedding fell during one of the busiest times of the Jewish year, between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, he gave us his full commitment to officiate. We couldn’t believe the kindness and care he showed in stepping in during such a high-demand period, all while leading multiple congregations.

Despite his busy schedule, Rabbi Klein took the time to get to know us. He crafted the most beautiful, personalized ceremony that exceeded all our expectations. It was sweet, playful, joyous, grounded, and deeply connected to us as a couple. One of the highlights was his soulful rendition of the Shehecheyanu, accompanied by his guitar, which added such a unique and touching element to our day.

While I am Jewish, and my husband is not, but Rabbi Klein made sure that both of us felt equally embraced. He created an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere that made my husband feel like he was part of the Jewish family and faith. Our ceremony was thoughtfully inclusive for our multicultural guests, and Rabbi Klein’s warmth and wisdom shone through in every moment.

We had countless guests come up to us afterward to express how moved they were by the ceremony, praising Rabbi Klein’s heartfelt and genuine approach. Our guests noted many times how much insight was gained about the Jewish tradition through Rabbi Klein's approach. It was perfect in every way, and we will always be grateful for the unforgettable day he helped create.

Rabbi Jonathan Klein was truly one of the most special parts of our wedding experience. What impressed us most was how invested he was in actually getting to know us before the ceremony.
We shared several dinners together in the months leading up to our wedding, and he took the time to understand our relationship, our backgrounds, our families, and what mattered to us. That care was completely evident on our wedding day. He spoke about us with an intimacy and understanding that could only have come from having genuinely listened and gotten to know us.
Beyond that, Rabbi Klein is an absolute pleasure to be around. He is gracious, compassionate, intelligent, engaging, and wonderfully funny. He brought warmth and humanity to the ceremony while still honoring the significance and tradition of the occasion.
Our family and guests loved him, and we received so many compliments about how personal and beautiful the ceremony felt. We are enormously grateful that he was the person who married us and would recommend him wholeheartedly.

We worked with Rabbi Klein for our wedding, and it was amazing! We worked closely with him to design our perfect ceremony, and he absolutely delivered! The ceremony was intimate, and he took care to make the ceremony about us, and included a lot of details from our conversations that made it feel personal. He also brought a beautiful element of Judaism, spirituality, and music to the ceremony. He was knowledgeable about Jewish traditions and customs, and guided us through an examination of our relationship to help us see the joy in our individuality as well as the strength in our shared bonds. It was a pleasure to work with him, and we'd recommend him to everyone!

Rabbi Klein led a beautiful and meaningful service at our wedding. Prior to the event we discussed details, our expectations, and the religious significance of certain symbols so that it was tailored to our preference but also incorporated traditional elements. The result was a ceremony that was very personal to us and exactly as he described it. Our guests were very impressed by his welcoming and inclusive approach and even those who were not Jewish were able to appreciate it fully. We have recommended him to other couples for various life-cycle events as well.

My husband and I live in Chicago and wanted to get married in NY for a variety of reasons. We had no connection to a rabbi but a friend connected us with Jonathan. 26 years later, every second of meeting with him pre-wedding and the actual ceremony are forever etched in our memories. Rabbi Klein took a chance on booking us pre-Zoom without even meeting in person until the day before we married. From that first moment, has has been an incredible listener. He just "got" us and captured every word of that getting to know you session in presiding over our wedding.
