Not the Experience We Expected
Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our experience.
One of the most important moments of our wedding was my walk down the aisle. My husband specifically communicated in advance that the ceremony would take place on the beach, and the DJ assured us he had worked at the venue before and had the proper equipment for a beach ceremony setup. However, when my processional song began, it only played briefly before cutting off before I had even started walking toward him due to an apparent internet connection issue. From my perspective, that moment lost the impact my husband had been looking forward to. That was his moment — seeing me walk toward him during a very specific song that held strong meaning for him. Knowing that it didn’t happen the way we had envisioned was heartbreaking to me.
The reception experience also felt unorganized overall. The transitions between songs and announcements were awkward, and the flow of the music never really built the energy we were hoping for. At times, high-energy music would suddenly transition into slower or mismatched songs, which repeatedly caused the momentum on the dance floor to stop.
Our guests wanted to dance, and one of the biggest things we wanted for our reception was for everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves. We were later told guests requested songs that still were not played, despite us previously providing music preferences and lists. I’m not sure where the disconnect happened, but the overall experience left us feeling like the room was never really being read or guided in a way that kept the celebration going.
We were also disappointed because additional items that were discussed and expected — including dry ice for the dance floor and light-up letters — were not ultimately provided, and we were informed too late to make alternate arrangements ourselves. This was especially disappointing because the light-up letters were something my husband had specifically envisioned for our wedding. He had spent time contacting vendors himself but repeatedly ran into delivery limitations for our venue location. After discussing it with the DJ and being told this could be arranged through one of his connections, he stopped pursuing outside vendors because we believed it had been handled. Learning at the last minute that it would not be provided left us without enough time to make other arrangements.
We do understand that unexpected things happen, and I later learned the DJ experienced a blown tire on the way to the venue. We appreciate that he still made it to our wedding. However, from our perspective as clients, the overall service, communication, and execution simply did not meet expectations for such an important event.
Based on other reviews, it seems many people have had positive experiences. Unfortunately, ours was not one of them.
