Plum Hollow Country Club is an upscale venue and golf course situated in Southfield, Michigan, that provides hosting for weddings and other momentous occasions. The dedicated staff understands how important a wedding day is to each couple, so they strive to ensure that each wedding is an excellent experience. For your special celebration, you can call upon this venue’s staff to help you realize the wedding of your dreams.

Facilities and Capacity

Your ceremony can be held outdoors, overlooking the verdant green of the 18-hole golf course. Once you have exchanged your vows, you can make your way into Tee Top, continuing to enjoy scenic views through floor-to-ceiling windows. This space can host between 50 and 70 guests for your cocktail hour. An alternative venue for hosting up to 80 guests is the Lower Grille which opens out into a brick paver patio. Afterward, you can enjoy an intimate dinner for up to 22 guests in the Private Dining Room. For larger gatherings, the Main Dining Room offers ample room for between 200 and 300 guests. Furthermore, these facilities are wheelchair-accessible for the convenience of all guests.

History

Plum Hollow Country Club was established in 1921, sequestered within the Detroit metropolitan area. Its 18-hole golf course was designed by notable architects Charles Hugh Alison and Harry Colt and also possesses 33,000 square feet of practice grounds. Hosting many national events over the decades since the golf amenities in the club leave visitors with a memorable experience.

Best day ever!

Plum Hollow Country Club was a fantastic venue! We were able to have our dream wedding during COVID-19 pandemic. They made everyone feel safe! The chef and staff are amazing and so great to work with. Best day ever!

Highly recommend PHCC for your wedding day!

If you’re looking into Plum Hollow CC for your wedding day, do it! Our wedding day was beautiful. Lexie and the entire Plum Hollow staff exceeded our expectations from the get go. My husband and I were sad that PH didn’t offer a family style option for dinner, however, we were very pleased with the plated portion size, not to mention how delicious everything tasted. Plum Hollow was very accommodating to all of our (many) needs and made sure everything went smoothly. Our guests still rave about their favorite bartender, Monica. Long story short, the venue is beautiful, the staff is amazing, book your wedding day here, you won’t regret it!

Great Venue, Poor Organization

When we visited Plum Hollow while researching wedding venues last summer, we were very impressed with the scenery, facilities, affordablility and flexibility that the venue and the staff had to offer. If we had known that their original event specialist, with all of the years of experience and having done hundreds of weddings, would no longer be working there by the time our wedding date came, I'm not sure we would have made our deposit there to save our date. The people filling his role had less than 1 or 2 years of experience combined, which naturally lowered our expectations a little bit. Still, everyone we had met up to that point was very nice and communication was great in the beginning.

As our wedding date approached, we had little to no communication between the event specialist (Janel) or food and beverage manager (Brittany) and my wedding coordinator and I, even a couple weeks before our date. Janel claimed that there were technical difficulties with their emailing and phone systems. It seemed the only way to handle business was to just show up there hoping that someone was available to help us. When we showed up to the venue, however, Janel told us that our emails were seen, which seemed inconsistent with what she'd said beforehand. I'd never heard of being able to see emails but not respond to them. It seemed as if answers to some of our questions were getting passed around and bounced back and forth between Janel and Brittany over and over again.

If there wasn't enough frustration up to that point, the day of the wedding was disappointing as well. We were told by Janel that our locker room bar would be staffed and that we'd be able to order "whatever we wanted" that morning while we prepped. When we arrived we were told that the kitchen wouldn't be opening until late afternoon for the wedding dinner. In addition, Janel did not remember us requesting a cash bar during dinner. When I was approached about it that night, she proceeded to try to stare me down and argue with me about what was or wasn't discussed, instead of trying to diffuse the situation and fix the problem.

All in all, our wedding day was beautiful, the servers and bar attendants were very nice and the food and drinks were great! However, I would consider booking elsewhere unless they hire different people who are more responsive and professional.
