My husband and I originally booked Kelsey for our wedding, but we ended up deciding to elope in May of 2025 and move our big celebration to May of 2026. By that point, we’ll have worked with Kelsey for our engagement photos, our Shenandoah National Park elopement, and our big wedding, and there are simply not enough words to describe how fantastic Kelsey is and is to work with! From our first contact, to our change of plans, to the chaos of us running late on the day of our elopement, Kelsey has been nothing but so kind and warm, extremely helpful, and, of course, wonderfully professional. We knew Kelsey was the right pick the moment we met her for our engagement photos – she made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and we had such a blast! At that shoot, Kelsey told us that she was pregnant (YAY!!) and that our elopement would likely be her last event before her maternity leave. Thankfully everything went as planned, but since it would be about a month out from her due date, she made sure to coordinate a back up shooter we were comfortable with in case any “what if” scenario were to come up. While we were planning our elopement, Kelsey acted as our destination scout, our planner / coordinator, and meteorologist – she gave us location options based on what we were looking for (hike vs no hike, views, elevation, accessibility, etc.), shared a bunch of galleries from different places to help us decide, came up with contingency plans based on the ever-changing weather forecast, and put together a day-of timeline based on our plans. Even as my husband and I were running about an hour behind schedule the day of our elopement, Kelsey rolled with the punches and helped ease my crazy anxiety about being late and leaving our pregnant photographer waiting on us for so long in a parking lot along Skyline Drive. From our first look to our handful of after-dark photos, the time we spent with Kelsey and her second shooter was a huge part of what made our elopement so perfect! And even at 8 months pregnant, she impressed us all by hiking up to Blackrock Summit (a short hike, but a hike nonetheless) for our portraits! We had full confidence that our photos would be amazing, but when we got our gallery back, we were truly blown away with what she delivered. Kelsey’s attention to detail and ability to capture US, both as individuals and together as a couple, are unmatched. We’re so excited that we get to work with her AGAIN for our big wedding in 2026!!!

BETTER THAN I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED! Kelsey and her husband are absolutely phenomenal. Communication, organization, and quality were all five stars from start to finish. Every moment was captured with such creativity and precision. I received almost 200 photos as a sneak peek shortly after our wedding, followed by hundreds more a few months later—absolutely fantastic! Kelsey was absolutely astounding as our wedding photographer. She is such a genuine person who made our wedding better just by being there, but the icing on the cake was how jaw-dropping the photos are. Kelsey exceeded our expectations as our elopement photographer. From the moment we reached out Kelsey was professional, prompt, and informative. Before our elopement Kelsey gave us great information about shooting locations, restaurants, vendors, and a timeline for our special day. On the day of the wedding, Kelsey was flexible, personable, and the perfect hype woman for a couple who is typically camera shy. We received a preview gallery within 2 weeks of our elopement with amazing images and our whole gallery brought me to tears with the beauty and the moments she captured. We will treasure the photographs of our wedding forever.

This review is so unbelievably overdue, but it was hard for me to put into words how I felt about my entire experience with Kelsey. I'm not an expert by any means, but her photographs aren't just photos; they really captured moments and elicited emotions. I wanted that - raw and real. Having no experience with wedding planning and only hearing about bad experiences, I braced myself. But Kelsey was AMAZING from the very beginning - she was so warm and kind. She really cared not just about the photography but she for me as well.  She was very keen on making this experience as special as she could. Constantly asking what my preferences were and checking in with me - but for someone who cannot articulate needs/wants very well, she was able to read me and understand. For our engagement shoot, David and I have no sense of fashion so I had felt bad that Kelsey had to deal with our wardrobe, but yet again, Kelsey did an amazing job. She became our personal fashion advisor and put a few things together that still made us feel like ourselves. I can't even begin to tell you how uncomfortable/unnatural it felt, but I was so thankful for her. She was able to talk us through and pull out our true selves. She sent us a teaser the very next day - I was floored. I had never seen myself in that way in a photo before and I was so happy to been captured in something so magical. Literal magic. 

After that, I began to look forward to our actual wedding photos. But then the pandemic happened and we weren't sure what we were going to do. We remained in touch as no one knew what was going to happen.. From the original planned wedding, delayed, canceled, court wedding, elopement, to our finally decided small intimate wedding, Kelsey was the absolute best - she accommodated, adjusted, and really just made everything easy. She was very flexible - and she did it all with kindness.  She even went before the wedding day to scope out the place and also arrived super early on the actual day to get herself familiar with everything. Honestly, she was beyond anything I could have wished for. She really understood what we wanted. I knew she was there but also forgot she was there - which is something that not a lot of people think about. She captured so many moments that were so brief but held so many emotions. She captured quiet and "unseen" moments. When I finally got through her gallery.. yeah, I still have no words. I couldn't believe that David, myself, our friends and family - the most not put together and unphotogenic people had become ... wow. When I look through the photos, the emotions and feelings come rushing back because she wasn't just taking a photo, she was preserving our spirit and love. Sounds so cheesy but her photos really elicit those sentiments.  

Kelsey is absolutely phenomenal - not just as a photographer but a person too. She was such an amazing soul to have as a part of our team - for support, encouragement, and cheer. Despite the scorching heat, she did everything with a smile on her face and no complaints. Her communication is effective, efficient, personal, and caring. What I thought would feel prescriptive, calculated, and transactional... was anything but.  Spending time with her felt like being with a friend. She is absolute magic and the very best - cannot thank her enough. We will treasure these forever. I will always recommend Kelsey to anyone who wants a true professional to create a personal and truly special photography experience.  

Kelsey absolutely exceeded all expectations as our engagement photographer! I was so incredibly nervous about our session because I don’t have much experience in front of the camera but she made the entire session so effortless and fun! I actually found myself forgetting that I was having photos taken and was so wrapped up in the moment. All of our photos perfectly captured us as a couple. They were all so candid and natural looking as well as beautifully edited. She asked me what my vision was for our session and had such amazing recommendations for locations and even helped me choose my outfits to match the scenery. Kelsey was truly amazing to work with! She helped us tremendously with location and vendor recommendations. Not only did she come up with the perfect timeline but she coordinated with our other vendors which took a lot of the stress off us. She went above and beyond throughout the entire process. Driving for hours to our location, hiking the trail multiple times, and getting drenched in the rain!! The best part was seeing all her hard work pay off with these gorgeous photographs!
