I adore Taylor and Ben! Very down to earth and professional. They were easy to talk to and sweet as can be! We loved our photos and had fun taking them, hands down best photographers we've ever used.

Taylor & Ben were so great to work with on the day of the wedding. They were really nice, and had ideas for poses and different settings for the shots. I cannot wait to see what all they got! They really did such a good job at capturing the moments!

Taylor has been super flexible with my on the whem picture days and makes sure we take enough to get wonderful memories. She is accomodating with my kiddos and doesnt set us on a time frame. It takes a bit to get pictures back and I get overly anxious but it is usually wirth the wait!

Would NEVER recommend to a friend

Three days before the wedding, May 23, 2018, we were notified that neither owner of the company would be attending our wedding and neither owner would be taking pictures due to an illness. Instead, another photographer was sent who they stated had done jobs for Photographs by Taylor for two years. As the contract states on the third point of the contract signed, “3. Photographs will be in digital format on a CD or Flash Drive within 4 – 6 weeks.” On June 20, 2018, we contacted Taylor for an estimated time that our wedding photos would be completed, in which she responded that they would be finished in two weeks or less. Three weeks later on July 24, 2018, we contacted Taylor again with questions regarding when our wedding pictures would be finished, she responded that she was mailing the pictures on a disc that week. Again, on August 6, 2018, we made a third attempt to obtain our wedding pictures and Taylor claimed that she had already mailed the pictures the previous week of July 29th and that it normally takes a few days to receive in the mail. On August 11, 2018, my wife and I notified Taylor again asking for the tracking number for the pictures she claimed to send and she didn’t provide a tracking number because she supposedly sent the disc using stamps. On the same day, we finally decided to ask her to send compressed zip file of the pictures via email and she failed to do so. A fifth contact was made to her regarding the pictures that she took 12 weeks prior and six weeks past the contract due date because we still had not received any pictures. After confronting her she responded, “I’ll get a new copy in the mail today and send you a pic.” No picture was ever sent to us via text of the package that she was supposed to be mailing, in fact we contacted her the same day to verify she did mail the disc containing our pictures and she agreed she did mail them on August 17th. The sixth contact we made to Taylor and on August 24, 2018, was to again ask for our wedding pictures. We notified her that we were going to send someone to pick the pictures up since she still had not mailed any disc to us, we live 75 miles away equaling one hour and 24 minutes. She responded, “I can get a cd made now and put it in my mailbox I’ll be in and out today.” The disc containing the pictures was picked up and she had the disc being secured in “The Hangover” movie case to be picked up in. We requested a refund in the amount of $375 to cover the costs for another photographer to restage and take pictures of the portrait photos of the bride and groom together since her photographer only got three to four staged pictures of us, to cover costs for traveling 75 miles to get the pictures after an agreement was made that she would mail them, failure to release all edited and original versions of pictures as described in the package we purchased, and for the lack of professionalism demonstrated by the owners and the company to comply with the contract and contract deadlines which was written and designed by her company. To date, we have agreed on a $225 refund and we have yet to receive it and she no longer responds to emails or texts.

Worst Experience Ever.

Worst experience ever!!

I have NO clear photos at all - they are all either blurry or pixelated or washed out.
I have NO pictures of my guests
I have NO pictures of my full dress/train with anyone -all pictures are cutting us off mid torso

I don’t even know where to begin. Taylor is a fraud in every way imaginable. Please do not trust her with taking your picture. My husband and I got married in October. She started off pleasant enough and was quick to take my money. Anytime I reached out to her with requests or questions before the ceremony she brushed it off and said everything would be fine and she’d take care of everything. She touted her 250 weddings in 16 states as reason not to worry.
The day of my wedding she showed up late, with a dead phone(the only copy of the list she had of my requested portraits), and apparently the wrong equipment(which she’d later use as an excuse for bad photos). Unfortunately it rained the day of my wedding and she knew ahead of time about the weather and she would be shooting indoors. She assured me if the rain stopped we could run out for some photos because outdoor background/lighting was important to me. She was extremely impersonable and rushed us through everything. I was very uncomfortable through the whole process. Family portraits were important to me, she said that isn’t why she was there so she rushed through them only taking one of each group it felt like. I asked if we could do them outside because the rain had stopped and she said no and lined everyone up on a staircase. She said that it was good lighting and the images would turn out great. They are awful, you can’t even see who is in the back, and they are blurry.
She claimed the couples photos were her specialty, so I assumed I would at least get good shots of my husband and I. Not the case. She finally agreed to let us go outside (we provided someone to hold an umbrella over her for the few sprinkles still coming down) and she rushed us through those as well. I don’t have a single full length shot of my husband and I or anyone for that matter. The pictures she provided are chopping us or my bouquet off, blurry, horrible poses, horrible editing, lighting, everything. There are only a couple with my bridal party and they are equally as horrible.

When I reached out to her after getting the pictures, she placed all the blame on me and said she tried to get me to do more pictures outside and I refused. Lies.
She blames the weather and the lighting, all excuses. Once the rain subsided the lighting was perfect outside. And neither the lighting nor the weather can excuse the horrible angles and shots she took. I may as well have taken selfies for how zoomed in her shots are. And I would have gotten better quality with my phone too.
She’s refusing to refund my money and I’ve found multiple reviews calling her out on her fraudulent business. I can’t believe she’s been ripping people off for this many years but please don’t let her fool you.

Just save your time and money and book elsewhere

I hired Taylor Pettit Buchka for a wedding in December of 2017. My mom was getting married in Springfield, MO and my wedding gift to her was a photographer. I did my research and found Taylor. I thought her work looked good and she had done some indoor weddings so I thought she was going be easy to work with and fit in well.
So I hired her to shoot my mom's wedding. My mom did not want to do engagement pictures. The contract was signed in October of 2017 and had the following information
"1. the client shall reimburse photographer for any additional cost the photographer may incur for parking, which is necessary to performance of the service
2. the investment fee is non-refundable. The investment fee acts as your first payment and will be taken off your total wedding package.
3. Photographs will be digital format on a CD or Flash Drive within 4-6 weeks.
4. The client will have printing rights given to make prints to photographs, please do not re-edit our work and publicize under are trademarked name. we take great pride in our editing and only want the highest quality publicized."
(you will understand why I point these out soon)
The wedding day comes. It is beautiful, laid back and easy going. Taylor shows up with a point-and-shoot camera and flash. She is also about 6 month pregnant. (not important to me, but will be later in the story) The wedding venue is inside and darker, as it is a winter wedding. She takes pictures of us getting ready, a couple of the ceremony and some of the reception. We offer her food since it is dinner time. She doesn't direct pictures, she doesn't take pictures of the small details. She is just in the corner taking pictures. I ask her to take pictures of the family and the newlyweds. We send Taylor home shortly after the cake. We finish out the night and go about our ways.
Four weeks later, I reach out to Taylor to get an ETA on pictures. She says that pictures should be ready in 5-8 weeks to complete the edits. This was not what our contract says, but I know people get busy with the holidays.
At the seven-week mark, I reach back out to get an ETA. She said "sending them soon." Another week, I reached out again - she said that she had sent 90 of them via email. She said she would re-email since I did not receive. I received a couple of the images. She said she would be sending more. Another week, I reach out again (see the pattern) - I am upset at this point as it has been ten weeks and I have a couple of HORRIBLE pictures. Taylor and myself go back and forth about her sending me pictures - she lies multiple times about sending them via email, via mail, etc. I request a tracking number from USPS so that I can know that she sent them. She told me that her store doesn't do tracking numbers and sent me a picture of a stamp. It's 2018 - you can get a tracking number from paypal where I sent her the money to reserve the date. I reach out week after week look for the pictures. At this point, I have a couple of the reception, but nothing of the ceremony. Now its March and I have a text chat full of lies. I reach out again and then she tells me that she is going into labor. She is also posting on snapchat being home and enjoying the day. (more lies)
It is at this point, that I had had enough. I had maybe 15 pictures, none of them useable. I decide to sue Taylor. She was served on March 22 and I receive four very lengthy text messages and she sends me all of the pictures. They are all unusable.
This is when I start doing more research on Taylor and her husband Ben Buchka. This is not the first time that she has “ghosted” a client. She had another client earlier in 2017 that only received a couple of their images as well. In addition, there are multiple cases on case.net against Ben were his wages were garnished due to racking up credit card debt and then bailing.
I go to court and win because Taylor did not show up. Her excuse - she is having complications from just having a baby. Ironically the day before, Taylor had posted on Facebook that she had started back at her job “Cowgirl Clad” and she was happy that she could start working out again.
Taylor owes me a good amount of money because of all the issues that I have had. I HIGHLY recommend you go to ANYONE else. Hire your blind grandpa in the front seat with an iPhone 4 and you would get better pictures and in a timely manner.

Let’s just say, you get what you pay for. She was the cheapest so we went with her. Extremely unprofessional, unorganized, and dishonest are a few words to describe our experience. We got our photos several weeks later than what was in our contract and what was told to us several times ... the contract that we never received back signed by them. Still to this day, can’t get a copy. It was supposed to be her and her husband at our wedding but of course, something came up and she brought someone else instead. There were issues on the other persons camera and now we don’t have one photo of our glow stick exit. This other person doesn’t even seem to work for the company. She has an excuse for everything. It’s always something. It became more of a headache than it was worth. Pay the extra money for a more professional and organized business that does what they say they’re going to do and probably makes their wrongs right after realizing their customer’s not happy. We were never offered any compensation or even an apology from all the mess we had to go through with her. We paid a deposit to secure a date to have her but yet she didn’t hold up her end of the bargain. Maybe that’s why they don’t send you a contract bank signed.

I am so disappointed. My daughter actually found Taylor to photograph our wedding on December 23 and our children paid for her services as a wedding gift to us. Taylor did show up to the wedding and was there from 6:00 pm until 9:30. She took a great deal of photographs and we were very anxious to see them. To date, I have received 90 out of focus and over exposed pictures. Nothing was edited or was good enough to print. We cannot seem to make contact with Taylor to get the rest of the photos. She is not answering her phone or private message on Facebook. I know that she was paid $750 for the time she was there and we fed her as if she was a guest at the wedding. This is an event that we can't redo or get back. I am just heartbroken...

I was very excited to work with this company after seeing reviews and wonderful pictures on Facebook. The pricing was also very reasonable. We started with our engagement pictures. We were told they took 2 weeks to get back and we would get a sneak peek in 1 week. After a week, I contacted the photographer and asked when we would receive our sneek peek. I was then informed that sneek peek aren't a gaurentee and she didn't have time to do one. Ok, whatever I only had 1 more week to wait to see them...wrong.....we got them 1 week late after me having to contact her multiple times. Moving on to the wedding. They take 6-8 weeks to receive sneek peek in 3 weeks. 4 weeks later I inquire about my sneek peek and was told she had it ready and would send it to me the next day. So after a couple days i let her know i never recieved ,only to be informed they were running behind and didn't have time to do one. Wait, i thought she said she had it done already. Obvious lie. Moving along to 8 weeks...inquire about my pictures and was told they were almost done. They overbooked themselves and were running behind. Finally recieved HALF my pictures 10 weeks after wedding via email. Supposedly 2 other files were sent as well which I never recieved. 1 month later I let her know I had not got them still. She said she would mail me a DVD will all pictures on it. It is now 4 months after my wedding and I still have not gotten half of my pictures. Now upon inquiring about them, I am getting no response. Would caution anyone on booking this photographer if you want your pictures back in a timely manner...or at all.
