Cooper River Band (formerly Permanent Vacation) is an energetic and professional six-piece cover band from Charleston, South Carolina! We have over 18 years of experience performing in Charleston and beyond and specialize in performing at weddings and making the party with our music and fun attitude! Our group consists of:
- Female Lead Vocalist
- Guitar / Vocals
- Bass / Vocals
- Drums
- Saxophone
- Keyboards
- Dedicated sound and lighting engineer
Services Offered
We aim to please our couples in anyway possible:
- Self-managed: When you are talking to us you are talking to an actual member of the band who will plan with you and/or your wedding planner the song selection, announcements, and timeline prior to and the big day so you don't have to worry about anything!
- Customized sets: You will receive a list of over 200 songs (ranging in all genres to please all kinds of crowds) to select requests from so we gear the set towards what we think your crowd will like, while getting in your personal favorite songs and making sure we don't play anything you don't want!
- Expanded group option: If you want to add trumpet and/or trombone for a full horn section, we can do that!
- Smaller group option: If your venue doesn't allow bands of a large size, our core group is a quartet (without sax and keyboard) and can perform at a discounted rate. Acoustic duo/trios are also possible.
We take care of emceeing the event and can learn songs with advance notice! Please contact us if you have more questions! We'd love to play for you!

Wedding Band
CRB is awesome and did a great job playing at our Wedding! High energy and played a variety of songs that kept the crowd dancing all night. 10/10 would recommend!!!

The best!!
Music is so essential to an event's atmosphere, and we truly couldn't have had a more wonderful experience with Cooper River Band at our wedding reception. They were one of the most helpful and kind of our vendors from the beginning, reaching out to our reception coordinator for stage dimensions to provide a custom ensemble to fit the vibe of our wedding. We received so many compliments on the music choices, and we were blown away with the talent. If you are looking for great communication, customizable set lists, and knock out musicians, Cooper River Band is the best choice in the Charleston area.

So Much Fun!

Best Wedding Band Ever!
Wow!!!!! There are not enough words to put into a review about this band! The Cooper River Band is professional, experienced and knows how to get a crowd dancing and singing! They performed at our wedding and we had so many compliments how great they were. David was easy to work with from the song selection to the reception setup. He is very detailed oriented and truly wants his clients to have a blast! They are versatile and can sing Bruno Mars to Garth Brooks to David Bowie. They even learned the song “Red Red Wine” and performed it in memory of my dad. It was a very sweet moment that my family and I will never forget. Thank you for the memorable moments and dancing!!!!
