President
Welcome to Peacock Letterpress! I have combined my love of typography and design with our commercial experience to explore the world of traditional letterpress print, using antique presses, original type, beautiful papers and hand mixed inks.
We, Wes and Terri Gilberto, met way back in the 90s, where we discovered a shared love of print and a burning ambition to run a print studio.
Following 20+ years in the print and publishing industries respectively, we finally purchased our first press, and started designing away!
In March 2003 we moved into an old Main Street building, once the town's hustling car sales shop. We acquired a rare Squintani Model no.6 treadle press, which we went on to restore to full working order and which has become the stalwart of our studio.
In August 2010 we took on a major expansion. We expanded our services to include bookmaking and letterpress workshops, gallery space, a shop and creative workspace (available for hire).
With Wes’s print experience (to include generations of family printers) in the print and design industry combined with my professional graphic designs, we provide a tailormade experience for anyone looking to turn their ideas into seductive letterpress print. By word of mouth, we vastly grew as a wholesale trade vendor for major printing companies nationally.
Adding to our expansion, I decided to offer traditional offset printing, full color digital, thermography, foil stamping and engraving. My passion is within the entire printing industry and includes our niche services which has grown into retail products such as our bespoke wedding stationery for all sorts of wedding types and styles. We have won a few professional print awards along our journey. Don't let our social side just intrigue you, we print for corporations too!
