Located in Lansing, New York (just up the lake from Ithaca), Osmica at Spring Trail Farm is a barn and farm historic venue that hosts weddings, micro-weddings, and elopements.
Let us capture your imagination and help make your event dream a reality. Our stunning countryside views and historic farm buildings offer unique opportunities to create a charming and inviting venue for an intimate gathering or lavish event. The farm is yours to enjoy from Friday 3pm to Sunday 2pm. We want you to have the time you need to setup, decorate, rehearse, and enjoy this special time with friends and family. We will be there to lend a hand or share a smile.
The Land: Say “I do” surrounded by the natural beauty of Spring Trail Farm. Whether you want to gather your loved ones in front of the barn, next to the bountiful beds of perennials, or under the 150 year old maple trees, our outdoor ceremony sites provide a serene and intimate space to exchange your vows amidst historic farmland of the Finger Lakes. Osmica at Spring Trail Farm offers 19 acres of gardens, fruit trees, and pasture land. There is ample room for lawn games, outdoor dining, catering tents, and guest parking. The farm’s picturesque fields, classic buildings, and enchanting gardens provide a relaxed and memorable setting for you and your guests to enjoy.
The Barn: Nothing says “farm” more than a historic red barn and silo from the early 1800s. The hand-hewn posts and beams and gambrel roof serve as the perfect backdrop for a picturesque wedding and stunning photos. Our three-tier floorplan can accommodate over 200 seated guests and allows for flexible setups. Four bathrooms (two of which are ADA compliant) and ample lighting add modern comfort and convenience.
The House: Our historic 1790s white brick farmhouse has been lovingly updated with a mix of modern conveniences and period accessories. It is the perfect gathering space for family and friends on your special day, and can accommodate up to ten overnights guests. You can dress for your wedding in one of our comfortable ensuite rooms and relax in the hot tub, hammock, or by the fire pit when the festivities are over. You sleep in while we prepare houseguests a farm-fresh breakfast featuring seasonal local ingredients, including some picked right from the farm. The spacious kitchen, dining, and living areas can be easily converted by caterers to host a rehearsal dinner or post-wedding brunch. We want our house to feel like your new country home.
The Location: Osmica at Spring Trail Farm is nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes. We are conveniently located off route 34B, just 11 short miles from Tompkins Regional Airport and 13 miles from downtown Ithaca. With Osmica as your home base, you can be assured of easy access to regional wineries, local restaurants, breweries, boutique shopping, world-renowned universities, and gorgeous parks and waterfalls. Lakeside Myers Park and Ludlowville Falls are less than five miles down the road and are stunning backdrops for local wedding photos. Although we provide some accommodation on our property, many B&Bs and hotel chains are a short drive away.
The Parking: We have a field parking lot which can accommodate up to 72 vehicles. Our u-shaped gravel drive allows for easy drop off and pick up of guests in need of extra assistance getting to and from the event site. *Couples who expect to exceed the available parking spaces will need to hire a local shuttle company to help transport guests.
Sustainability: Eco-conscious couples will be happy to know that sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Our farm is being renovated with environmental sustainability in mind. We have limited new construction and reused old materials whenever possible. Our historic home, barn and outbuildings are all powered by our newly installed solar array. We are proud to be a net-energy producer! The beauty of our natural surroundings means you can save money and help the environment by keeping one-time use decorations to a minimum. Our farm-to-table breakfasts, field flowers, and lovingly reclaimed furnishings make for a small environmental footprint on your big day.

The Ultimate Farm Wedding
Pros:
-Much more affordable than many of the other venues in the area
-The venue gives you so much flexibility with how you want to design your day and setup your décor
-You can stay on the property in a beautiful remodeled historic home with some amazing breakfasts and a hot tub
-The VIEWS
-The barn is big enough to have a large wedding ENTIRELY inside in case of weather
-The owners work incredibly well with whatever vendors you will set up, are incredibly responsive to emails and will do much of the handiwork the weekend of your wedding as well as setup and takedown.

The rooms are carefully curated to preserve the original history of the house (which had been built in 1794). Allie and Kurts impeccable blend of modern and vintage decor shone through the house. Everything was neat, each room had temperature control and en-suite bathroom which was a huge plus!
As far as my wedding goes, they were ever present but maintained the perfect distance. If we needed any assistance Allie was there to help but if we were sharing a moment with family we had the perfect space. We do not live in the area so they facilitated all the deliveries of rentals which was so helpful, truly above and beyond!
Kurt and Allie run a fully sustainable farm so the food we were served was grown all or mostly on premises. I’m talking fresh watermelon, cantaloupe, edible flowers as garnishes, you name it. They were even kind enough to send us home with some fresh seasonal produce.
I cannot say how happy I am with Kurt, Allie and the beauty of their home, farm and hospitality. I would absolutely recommend this venue!
Rustic yet modern, amazing hosts, beautiful property - a must visit!
First, I need to start with the proprietors - Allie and Kurt. Our process began more than a year before the big day - we were able to communicate remotely and even got a video FaceTime tour before even visiting the property which was super helpful as we narrowed down venues. Leading up to the day, Allie was always super communicative and open and that made us feel at ease as we tried to plan from afar. On the big day, Allie and Kurt made sure everything ran smoothly in the background and everything went off without a hitch.
Second, the cottage - part of the wedding package is a 2 night stay in the cottage and my only small critique is that I wish we had been able to spend MORE time there. The grounds were lovely, and Allie and Kurt have done a ton of work updating what clearly is an older house into a modern bed-and-breakfast stay. It was a very comfortable couple of nights and we were greeted with a farm-fresh breakfast every morning, utilizing a ton of the produce from the grounds itself.
Third, the barn - we had been targeting a "barn/farm" wedding experience and Osmica did not disappoint. One of the biggest factors for us were the modern bathrooms that meant we did not have to rent porta-potties. Other than that, the space is very well-appointed with a separate bar area, separate dance floor, and loft that we utilized to be a little refuge when people just wanted a quiet moment to themselves. Allie again came through with multiple floorplans that we could have picked from and made sure we were able to accommodate our different vendors in comfortable spaces.
Last but not least - the grounds. I did not explore as much as I wanted to due to the last minute planning and running around but all of our guests had a lovely time.
Our experience with Osmica, Allie, and Kurt was phenomenal. I am certainly no professional wedding planner but Allie and Kurt made our day go by without any major hitches and their friendliness to not only us but our guests was especially appreciated. I am certainly not hoping to have another wedding any time (ever) but I do hope to go back to visit one day! I am sure Allie and Kurt will continue to build out and update Osmica so it is an even better venue than it was in 2023.
