About

For weddings, we have our lovely chapel, which easily accommodates 165, but this is far from our only wedding venue. The Commander’s House, with its beautiful pillars and hardwood floors, is another place to host your wedding. The historic Officer’s Club is another popular option. And after the wedding or reception, the University Guest House offers overnight accommodations.

Reviews of University Guest House & Conference Center

This venue was great. It had lots of nooks and crannies to make everyone at the party feel comfortable - but plenty of dance floor to bring everyone together. I loved having access to the space for the whole day rather than just a few hours. I would have liked more options with the approved caterers, but that worked out well in the end too. A great all around experience!

The University Guest House has a beautiful location on the side of the mountain by Fort Douglas. The venue is the bottom level of the hotel with a nice outdoor seating area as well. It was a great venue and everyone loved it. They especially loved heading outside after the dancing. The venue was too small for our crowd though, we had 600+ guests and we ran out of space. For a smaller group, it would be perfect.

We chose this location for three reasons: A) great price, B) no in-house caterer. I.E. they allowed us to bring in our own caterer (from a list, but a big one at that) and C) had the right feel to it (historic setting, neutral decor, downtown-ish location). There isn't a wedding coordinator, really. There's a conference coordinator, but don't expect a lot of help or guidance. When I did e-mail them, they were pretty slow to respond, but answered the questions I asked. In the end, everything went absolutely smoothly, no hitches. And considering why we chose them, we got exactly what we were looking for. I would definitely recommend it to others, but just don't expect the same guidance you might get from other wedding venues. As a plus, there's a hotel next door, which is convenient (and they give you a complimentary room for the day/night of the wedding), and it's really affordable for any out of town guests. All in all, I think it was a great value for the money.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
