Oakwood Gardens is one of my favorite venues to suggest for my clients' wedding day. There are so many gorgeous areas to get married/host the reception, and not every wedding has to be the same as the last. The owners are the KINDEST and are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure their guests are happy with their grounds. You can tell a lot of love and hard work has been put into the property and they are very proud of it- as they should be. It's a magical place and I hope to plan many more events there in the future!

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue!! It was our dream to have our wedding somewhere we could stay the weekend with our wedding party. The airbnbs on the property are spectacular. This was truly a dream come true to get married surrounded in this English garden. We got married in 2021 and our guests still rave about how breathtaking it was.

We cannot recommend Oakwood Gardens enough. We held the wedding of our dreams with 200 people across the expansive 70 acre property. The gardens were a magical backdrop to a perfect day and our entire immediate family got to stay on the property airbnbs for what was the most memorable weekend of our lives. We had friends traveling in from all over the world and the consistent feedback was that this was one of the most unique wedding venues that people had ever seen. From the spectacular white garden to the waterfalls, the photo opportunities and areas for guests to explore were endless. Planning was also seamless between our wedding planner and the venue. This truly is the most perfect place to have a wedding!!

Our wedding at Oakwood Gardens was truly the celebration of our dreams. The venue provided us with a beautiful setting that, while conducive to a wedding with hundreds of people, made our intimate 10-person black tie affair, the magical weekend we had hoped for. Oakwood Gardens has something for every need and bridal desire! We got ready in the Airbnbs, had our ceremony in the tranquility garden, a champaign toast in a hidden gazebo forest nook, pictures on the grand staircase, and dinner in the secret garden. A true fairy tale flow. The detail of the various garden backdrops made planning and decorating easy. So much is taken care of!

The overall experience at Oakwood Gardens was overwhelmingly positive-- truly dreamy. Could not recommend it enough to anyone who is looking for stunning garden wedding venue. We are forever grateful for the wonderful memories created at Oakwood Gardens.

Our wedding at Oakwood Gardens was an absolute dream! All of the details from set up to tear down ran so smoothly. The property and gardens are in immaculate condition. There are so many gorgeous spots for stolen moments and photos. We have too many amazing photos to choose from. Our guests loved interacting with the alpacas which was a bonus. I cannot recommend this venue enough, we were absolutely thrilled to get married here!

I truly cannot say enough good things about Oakwood Gardens. The beauty is absolutely unparalleled. The property features endless options for your wedding and your guests will be delighted by all of the garden's features including a victorian walking bridge, waterfalls, a reflection pool, a walled white garden, gazebo, french potager, ponds, and the majestic oak trees for which the garden got its name. The newly renovated barn is unlike any other in Oregon or Washington. As an event planner, I love the 3-day rental period, onsite accommodations, and ample parking space. As an event designer, I love the versatility of the different spaces within the garden which allows every wedding to be one of a kind. I highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants an unforgettable experience.

STAY FAR, FAR, AWAY FROM OAKWOOD GARDENS AND ANY OTHER NW EVENT VENUES, IF YOU ARE PLANNING ANY KIND OF EVENT. THE OWNERS ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH!

The grounds are beautiful, but be VERY, VERY, CAUTIOUS booking anything with this owner John Lee, and/or any of his NW EVENT venues. The stress of dealing with this man, his superiority, and attitude are definitely NOT WORTH IT! Do yourself a favor and read reviews on The Knot and Yelp before booking with NW Events!

There is so much to this story, but I am only allowed so many words. I can't express all the horrific, threatening emails regarding canceling my event that were sent to me just weeks, and days before my event by the owner JOHN LEE of NW EVNENTS. Due to the stress this situation caused me, I ended up in bed experiencing vertigo for three days, just four days before the event.

I planned a Quinceañera for my granddaughter over a year in advance. I signed a contract with the previous owners, who were amazing to work with.

Two weeks before my event I sent an email the the new owners, event coordinator, Amy, asking where to pick up the keys, and confirmation of the provisions that were included in my contract. I received a response from someone named John Lee, whom I had never heard of or dealt with before. His email stated, “182 people is not what they agreed to. The contract specifies limits, so please don’t respond to this email until you’ve talked to me.” He hit reply all instead of just to Amy. After that it all went downhill.

He said, there would be two security guards to count every single person and the event would be shut down if there were more than the contract stated. In every email he sent, he made some kind of threat to shut down or cancel my event if I didn't agree to his terms. He went as far as to say he was under no obligation to continue with my event, (even though I had a signed contract stating everything that was included). John was refusing the amount of tables, chairs, linens, and even lighting and sound that was included in the contract. I finally contacted my attorney sent him the contract and all the emails. My lawyer informed me that John would be in breach of contract if he backed out of the event, and that he was merely using scare tactics in hopes that I would cancel my plans.

I did email John, and all the documents and emails sent to his employee. It was clear that he had no understanding of the details I had previously emailed. After I provided proof of everything I had detailed, his demeanor changed slightly. While he still didn't offer an apology, he was no longer threatening like he had been in previous emails. I had already submitted all the required documents to Amy, but I sent them to John again to avoid any further issues. He clearly didn't have the right contract, any documents, nor my check for $1000.00 that I had submitted.

When I asked about the whereabouts of my $1,000 check that I had left with them, and expressing my discomfort with his not knowing where it was, he said, he would try to locate the check. It is now 13 days after the event, and I still have not received my check back! All of this because he had the wrong contract stating 120, not 150. He never did meet with me, nor apologize!

On the day of the event, I was met by his new event coordinator, Destiny, and another staff member, Ashley, both of whom were extremely nice, helpful, and apologetic! We were told to dump our trash into the dumpsters provided; however, they were full. We pointed that out to the staff who showed up, and the response was dumpsters are used for other purposes on the property, and we're sorry about that. Some of the chairs were dirty and still had food on them; we had to wipe them down with Clorox wipes. The Quinceañera chair we rented from them was filthy, and my sister spent a good 45 minutes cleaning that up. The tablecloths provided were different sizes and styles, so I went out and bought my own just so they would match.

NW EVENTS, AND JOHN LEE, ARE NOT REPUTABLE BY ANY MEANS!! STAY FAR, AWAY.
