One of the priorities for our wedding was an outdoor venue with great views and an ability to make it our own. Nauticus is that place, as the venue in my opinion is one you cannot beat. Not only is the fact that you are right on the water amazing (with opportunity for an awesome sunset) but the facility is impeccable; from the landscaping to the beautiful lighthouse with an indoor bar. Ken manages the space and was very responsive. They do have some preferences on vendors they like to use but if you have thoughts/ vision on things you want just make sure you speak with him. In full transparency, there is a strict 9pm end time because of the noise ordinance in the residential area. However Ken is open to cocktail hour being a little longer so we had our wedding from 3:30-9pm. In addition you have to get permits for vendors, insurance for "x" number of attendees and also coordinate bringing anything you want in a la carte (like alcohol, decor, Ect). I recommend using Causal Gourmet catering with this venue as they work together all the time and Casual Gourmet acts as a full service coordinator day of. If doing something different for a reception, adding your personal touch and having amazing views/photos are priorities then this is your place. It's worth sacrificing a little bit earlier end time, because let's be honest, people have still been drinking all during the wedding and there is always the after party of your choice!
