Mvngata Hotel

The entire team at Mvngata went above and beyond for our wedding. From upper management, vendors and the hotel staff, everything was exceptional. They catered to all of our needs and all of our guest’s needs. Our guests raved about how much they enjoyed their time at the hotel and each event we hosted there. The night of my wedding, the staff waited on our guests non-stop. We hosted a welcome beach party that was one of the best nights I could have asked for. Monserrat Palafox was our wedding planner and she is an angel! She worked so hard to make our wedding weekend the best possible. I would reach out to her throughout the course of the year planning for our big day and no matter what day or time it was, she answered. She is so talented and the sweetest person, I can’t thank her enough. Sarman Costa who is the GM of the hotel was also so nice to work with and extremely accommodating. All of the contracts and information to book the events were always very clear and there were no hidden fees or agendas- this is a really important factor when hosting an event like this and I felt like I could truly understand what was required and plan my budgets.

The food was amazing, the rooms are modern and large, the hotel layout is ideal and getting into the main city center of Playa is only a 15 minute drive. Honestly, if you are looking for an intimate hotel setting with a wonderful team helping you plan, this is the place. It’s not a huge hotel (23 rooms) so you really feel like you can spend time with your friends and family. The food is delicious and not just all inclusive buffet style meals. This was important to me so our guests could experience true Mexican food and culture. It was truly one of the best weekends of our lives and everything was seamless. Huge shoutout to Monserrat and Sarman. They have an amazing team behind them and I am forever grateful.

We had our wedding at Mvngata on December 10, 2023. And it was absolutely the best experience ever! The food was amazing, the service was incredible, the coordination with the hotel was so smooth, they truly went above and beyond to make our night very magical. They treated me, my husband and all of our guest like absolute royalty! Food was excellent, drinks were fast, servers were incredible. We had an entire weekend buyout or 3 days and they truly catered to all of our needs the entire weekend. The bridal suite is ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!!! It is so beautiful, grand. We were able to take amazing photos in the room while getting ready. Erika who was the hotel event coordinator was absolutely incredible and paid attention to every detail, everyone stayed on scheduled and she was very attentive, communicative and accesible the day of the wedding. I had absolutely zero stress the whole weekend. Thank you Erika and your team for creating such an amazing night!

Mvngata was the perfect venue for a destination wedding. We did our rehearsal on the rooftop and wedding at the beach club. Service was amazing and facilities were clean. The food was to die for- all of our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. I loved all of the staff that I met and worked with. Thank you Erika!

I worked with Erika from the sales tea, in coordinating a welcome party on the rooftop for about 70 guests. She was very accommodating in taking my calls and answering all of my questions. She was always happy to help and very responsive. My guests had an amazing time and the food was delicious. The standout was the coconut shrimp. My husband and I ended up staying at the hotel at the tail end of our trip and we loved it. The room we stayed in was amazing and the italian restaurant downstairs was delicious. I ordered the cannelloni and my husband had the chicken fettucine alfredo... it was honestly one of our favorite meals of our entire 2 weeks in Mexico. Our server was named Juan, I think... he was Mayan and shared with us about his culture which was super interesting. He was very friendly and the service was great.

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at Mvngata and it was perfect. Right next to the water, in our own private beach space. Erika was easy to work with and helped set us up with Audio and was always around and easily accessible to answer any questions. The food was delicious! I was kind of skeptical because my family is Mexican and hypercritical of the Mexican cuisine, but they were raving about it. Highly recommend!

Overall we had an amazing experience having our wedding at Mvngata. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and working with Monse as our coordinator made planning our wedding from California so easy. The food was to die for. The location is beyond gorgeous both the beach and the rooftop. The rooms (especially the honeymoon suite) are fantastic. The rooftop has an infinity pool that mimics the colors of the ocean and this is where our guests wanted to spend the entire weekend and we can't blame them. When we were there, we were treated so well. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, taking excellent care of both us and our guests. The only negative I have to say about the venue is that communicating with the hotel itself while planning was a bit difficult for both us and our guests. But I cannot say enough good things about Monse. She took care of EVERYTHING both before and during the wedding, including when we were having trouble talking directly to the hotel. She was so easy to work with, hooked us up with all of our outside vendors and made the planning process honestly so easy and stress-free. The venue was just the right size for our destination wedding with about 55 guests. It was our dream wedding and we will definitely be back.

All our families and friends had an amazing time, we are very glad that we had our wedding at the Riviera Maya.
